Default [Fix Needed] Capital City Sieges & "Lowering Their Defenses" Level 19-20 Guild Quest

    Greetings,
As many of you know Gaiscioch enjoys the thrill of the hunt. We have killed all 6 of the 1+ million health creatures in Meridian and have started working on the ones in Sanctum as well. There are a few things that I think might have been overlooked when putting the cities together in specific the "Lowering Their Defenses" Guild Quest.

    1. City Mobs check Toughness, Focus, Hit not Vengeance and Valor.
Your forced into wearing PvE gear when trying to complete these quests all the while you have to fend of resistance who's stacked in PvP gear. I would suggest changing the gear check to be PvP Gear for PvP Situations. I love a good challenge and all but when the deck is stacked against you and people just roll up on you with full PvP gear and watch you melt as they laugh and tease you it's just not that fun. Those same people wouldn't stand a chance against us if we were wearing our PvP Gear.

    2. Guardian vs Defiant "Lowering Their Defenses" Comparison & Difficulty
The Guardian version of the quest requires you to kill Joss Farwraker on the steps of Meridian. He has about 11,000 health and is pretty accessible. In addition you must kill 100 Meridian Guards. We've done this quest every week it's come up and is not very difficult. You can usually get in and out of Meridian before the Defiants ever know your there.

The Defiant version of the quest requires you to kill Rhamm Dragonbane on the Sanctum Bridge who has 4,000,000 health, and AOE cleave that hits un 150 toughness people for over 20k at a range of about 80m. Our first encounter he wiped the majority of our entire raid in 1 shot. He also has a knockback which if your not careful will punt you off the bridge. Rhamm has as much health as Cyril and Shyla and more health than Orphiel, Asha, and Sylvar. In addition to killing Rhamm Dragonbane you must kill 20 Sanctum Guards.

One additional note is for guardian side you can hit a portalcullum and spawn Meridian Guards out of it to fight. On Defiant side the guards that come out don't count. I'm not sure if that's a bug or a feature but the original portalcullum guard patch said that it summons guards from the city if you engage a portal master. I figure that's probably why Defiants only need to kill 20 and Guardians need to kill 100. I do think that Rhamm Dragonbane needs to be brought down to be on Par with Joss Farwraker. Perhaps make each of them at 1 million health. Would make a more challenging and fair fight. 4 Million health takes about 10-15 minutes to burn and with Rhamm being so accessible defensively it's a matter of hitting him when nobody is looking. Now that said we've completed that quest defiant side every week that we've had it and have even started bringing other guilds along to complete it with us.

I just feel that the 2 quests need to get more on par with each other and we should be allowed to use PvP gear for PvP objectives such as sieging the city.

So there is at least one thing in this game that doesn't favor Defiant! Finally!

If you want to go into that argument then there is lots of things that aren't favored defiant when it comes to city sieging.

    1. Cyril, Shyla, Borim are stacked together. Separating them is difficult.
    2. Asha, Orphiel, Sylvar are in separate areas with a safe spot to corpse jump your way in. Cyril, Shyla, Borim have no safe zone in range. You have to fight your way in.
    3. Guardian leaders have more health than all 3 Defiant leaders.
    4. Guardians have squirrels. If you think your up to the task try killing them... good luck. We pulled it off but the fight is like fighting all 6 dragons at the same time. Make note of their abilities. They are the same that the dragons use. You can build your resit tables off them.

Lots of city stuff favors Guardians.

We agree that some balancing is needed here.

It won't be happening for 1.9, but it is something I have added to my list for 1.10.

Great to hear. I have to say one of my favorite events to throw is the city sieges. I get more people willing to come out and siege than you'd expect. It out numbers our Intro to Raid Rifting nights where we close one of each raid rifts.
