The longer you survive with the objectives intact or under your control, the better your chance of winning.
Also, it was pointed out that HoTs give too much damage buffer presently, especially when stacked between multiple Warden healers, so they are toning that buffer down to make the unkillable combos (2x warrior, 2x warden + someone else) more manageable.
I like open-world where killing is the only objective, and in open world I don't run around in Warden spec unless I'm with friends. This change isn't going to really restrict competitive PvP, only diversify healing builds. I'm sure you, like most cleric healers, will just adapt to the change and find a new healing rotation that works well enough.
