Role Imbalance in Callings

If you got his attention before what is the point of this thread? To convince us? Maybe 1.9 or 2.0.....maybe never

To convince the devs it's a big enough deal that it should be higher on the priority list, or just to get some response from the devs on how they feel the roles should realistically be balanced across the Callings.

I would like to see this.

One of the reasons is: I was here in beta, when they had their chart up which listed Warlord as support. And consider which specs get the incoming-damage debuff:

Warlord

Definitely. Ironically, most of the Warrior issues were pretty well solved when we were the only Calling with Spotter's Order.

On the other hand, Atrius said during the 1.6 balancing that Warlord was not meant to be a Support soul "on the same level as Bard and Archon" and that there were no plans to convert it into a full support soul at this time.

The issue with converting Warlord to Support is much bigger than just increasing the power of their abilities, though. It would require a total rework of... everything. The reason being, 80% of the abilities in the Warlord tree only make sense if you're the tank. A support calling doesn't need 30 points to sink into passive resistances, mitigation and block abilities... not to mention all the threat-grabbing abilities.

well, warlord would be the only MELEE support. ^^

yeah, they'd to rework a lot. not only the warlord tree but how it interacts with the other souls. I think that's one of the reasons they are so resistant to it - the amount of work and headache it would involve.

OTOH, they could always go the bard route, most bards I know go 51 pts for VoJ. copy the support gameplay from lotro's captain - voila, support soul.
