Default So where did Instant adventure go?

Seriously? Was IA not ready for 1.6 or was it never planned for 1.6 or what? One day it was there, and then now its not :3

In one of the trailers for 1.6 it was mentioned they would come shortly after the release of 1.6. It looks like the plan on adding all the features one by one.

No one seemed very happy with it, honestly. It was grindy and the rewards were pointless. Hopefully they are fleshing it out and it will come back better.

    This.

After testing it, it felt a bit like a non-instanced version of missions from Anarchy Online (for those who played it :P). Go to a random location, kill a few random mobs then kill a random boss. Rinse & Repeat until your eyes bleed (tm)

The concept has some great potential, but that current version really sucked (pro tip for content designers: having a chance to fail is what gives a sense of challenge and makes player want to do it other than the grind-carrot)

You guys missed the entire point of that test.

The test was NOT to test how Instant Adventure will be on Live servers, it was to test the IA system itself. It was only a test for getting people into groups, the quests initiating, warping you to new locations for the IA, etc.

Elrar during the test told us that the system was heavily work-in-progress and we were only seeing the groundwork for the system itself. The quests that we saw during the test were placeholders, and only represent a minority of what the actual quests will be like.

Another dev posted in the feedback thread that they will not be adding any more "Go here and kill X amount of ____" The quests will be more along the lines of the burning buildings one in Stillmoor that we encountered that was bugged.

    tl;dr

The version we tested was just the framework and quests were placeholders. It does not reflect how the actual Instant Adventure system will work.

Instant adventure went to back to the drawing board. The system works, but now they have to put in fun, new non kill 10 ghosts type content and figure out how to tune the difficulty to adjust for fluctuating amount of players in the group

"Shortly after 1.6" eh? I guess we can expect it in 1.7.

The last time Instant Adventures were tested on PTS a few weeks ago, the servers completely crashed 3x in 30 Minutes. After that, the test was aborted.
So, it seems there are some serious issues with instant adventures.

Expect it in a mini patch mid cycle. We wanted to add additional content to the system and didn't want to have instant adventure launch at the same time as Ember Isle and compete for attention on the first day.

Actully from what I've seen on PTS, Instant Adventure is nothing special at all, so "fighting for attenction" should be more like "being unnoticed at all".
