    limiting the number of healers in a warfront isn't the problem, its limiting the healer, singular. Healers don't have to depend on other people, even to defend themselves.

    Appending the header that should have went with this post here.. One of our forum mods will go ahead and get the main post updated tonight

    With 1.3 we've focused on tuning around giving level 50 players a better on ramp into PVP, allowing lower rank players to have better chance of surviving vs. high rank (or raid geared players) through a higher base valor value and more ways to obtain valor pre-50. In addition these adjustments continue to improve PVP gear progression ensuring that the more Valor you get the better your chance of survival, especially against those players using gear without Valor.

    Specifically we wanted to address the lethality of critical hits in PVP which was causing a number of situations where players (or their allies) would die from damage spikes with no way to react to the attack. In addition we are continuing to hand tune specific ability combinations for PVP (without touching PVE performance) that would result in similar results without the aid of a critical hit.

    Finally we realize that increased survivability will also increase the effectiveness of healing and defensive abilities, and we will be closely watching these particular builds on PTS (and live). Our overall goal is to ensure that healing and support is desired in team play but doesn't create builds with both extreme durability and offense at the same time.

    Over the next week we plan on having a number of PVP oriented play tests on our PTS server to help us gather feedback, and so that we can continue to tune these values prior to 1.3 being released.

    Better be careful with this update because if it goes in anywhere near what is stated in the OP of this thread then both sides will be very very disappointed with the end result.

    Several Things that need to be addressed especially for Assassin soul and other melees

    Jumping exploit. This is game breaking for melee pvp'ers.
    Assassin specific. You know the nice little story you said about cold blooded killers sneaking behind enemy lines and taking out that one target? right before we get focus killed behind enemy lines. Well unless you fix out single target damage. "read that right" a soul with ZERO area of effect damage in it. Cannot get a cleric or cholor of even gear below 80%. You are still not there yet. Especially with the DR on snare and stuns. ooh they are just jumping around.

    Disparity between PvE weapons and PvP weapons. Say a player changes characters as a main in a guild. Compare the time it would take for a group to grind out dungeons with the time a pvp group has to grind favor/prestige to get geared. I think you will see the difference.

    give assassins a real healing debuff. wow a debuff that reduces heals by 50s that can be dispelled and or simply countered with their own cooldown of 50 percent dmg reduction.

    please compare All CC abilities. If one CC breaks on dmg. make them all break

    It should not take 5 rank 5 PvPers five minutes to kill 1 rank 5 cleric!!

    If you reduce damage taken and dont reduce healing received. You are just asking to make the same mistake blizzard did. For a whole content patch the only ones in battlegrounds was healers. all stupid resto druids. This thought has been done. please learn from their mistakes.

    In addition I wanted to remind folks that the notes posted here are not exhaustive of all of the items in 1.3, just the major balance changes. There will be some additional content released in 1.3 that will lay the inital groundwork for additional open world PVP content that will be released in 1.4, 1.5 and beyond.

    This includes
    • Improved warfront matchmaking
    • Open world PVP faction & daily quests
    • Additional pvp rewards including lower level valor gear & higher level PvP oriented lesser essences

    I checked with our engineers and we are actively working on the jumping exploits that are causing range issues with melee, hopefully that fix will be in 1.3 next week or shortly thereafter

    He commented on the valor changes and apparently that's actually what they want. Pretty surprising hopefully their outlook comes back to reality before June 22.

    That might sound good on paper, but what about classes like Assassins that RELY on those damage spikes to be of any use at all? Our whole class is pretty much designed around crits. After 15 seconds, we no longer get damage bonuses from opening from stealth. The longer fights go on and the harder you keep making people to kill through things like Valor buffs and excessive healing, and we become less like the stealthy quick killers that you yourselves said we should be in 1.2...

    If you nerf our crit damage, then you need to up our base damage, which you can't do without affecting PvE. This whole idea for changes is stupid.

    I'm going to add my voice to the clamor. These changes are awful. The worst thing you could do for PVP.

    It would be better to get rid of Valor, altogether.

    Seriously, Trion, you may lose my subscription over this, and I was enjoying this game.
