    LMAO.

"But Dawn wants her experience to be a lesson to other parents and blames Microsoft for making it 'too easy' for her son to spend the money."

"A spokesman for Microsoft claimed that a parental control setting would have prevented Brendan from spending Dawn's money."

1082 expense and getting slapped by Microsoft?

AOL used to charge 2 dollars an hour to play their premium games.

Do you know what kinda bills kids can rack up at that rate over the summer?

Blame Microsoft for you not teaching your kid financial responsibility. Stuff like this is silly.

People need to be held accountable for their actions..

Both the Son AND the Mom.. because as said there are available parental controls..

IMHO the mom should have to sell things to pay the bill.. Then make her son pay her back for years to come.. Teaches them both a lesson in fiscal responsibility..

i had something similar like this happen bout 30 years ago. there used to be some santa claus tv commercial where you would dial a phone # -pay of course to speak with santa claus.

a month later i found my 3 year old was dialing the # when we were sleeping and racked up few hundred bucks in toll calls. from what i rememebr i eneded up paying near half and they eneded up dropping the rest.

man kids got it easy now. when i was a kid i had 1 toy- a frankenstein jr (cartoon) puzzle. had it over a year before mom could afford to buy me something else ( a radio shaped like a apple) that one was with me long time too

maybe we should lock up our kids in a room with nothin in it til they hit 18. open the door- throw their bags outside and say bye...

So she didn't notice the bill until 6 months later? I check my credit card statements at least once a week, but meh.
