    Default I Love You, Vicodin

No, this is not poetry written by an addict.

This is just a statement by someone that recently got diagnosed with an impacted, abscessed tooth.

You know what that feels like? A lot like someone is trying to murder my face.

I just wanted to thank the makers of Vicodin for essentially saving me from filling up a bathtub with whiskey and drowning myself.

    Much love, Vicodin.

I know how you feel, the right side of my jaw has been killing me for days and what I wouldn't give for a vike or two. Cuz ibuprofen seriously doesn't help. And I have no dental insurance! T_T

I'm sorry to hear that, Eriatarka. Sounds like you might have an abscess as well.

Things that worked wonders for me:

    1. Advil. Advil comes in 200mg tablets. You can safely take four. That's the prescription amount. It'll take swelling down.

    2. Ice cold water. Some people suggest warm salt water. I did that and it rocked me so hard I almost puked.

    3. Dip a cotton ball in an equal mixture of salt, baking soda, and water. Stick it between your tooth and cheek.

    4. Vicodin and antibiotics. Vicodin is a band-aid, but antibiotics will actually kill the infection.

    5. Whiskey. Yep. It numbs the gums, knocks out the pain, makes you sleepy and keeps you from whining. But yeah - it's whiskey.

    Hope that helps.

Oh also - I should mention if you don't have dental insurance but you've got a little cash in your pocket, here's exactly what you need to do:

Call your (a) dentist. Tell them you have an emergency - you think it might be an abscess - but you don't have insurance.

They'll most likely give you an x-ray for around $100, tell you you have an abscess, then prescribe antibiotics and painkillers.

Go to the pharmacy, pick up your prescription, and get on those meds.

When you do get insured, go get it taken care of.

    Good luck.

I'll take that as a compliment, Viku.

Nah, I can't really do the beer right now - need something stronger.

Like whiskey. I love you too, whiskey.

Thank you very much for the advice, I will take it up. And it sucks because I have a terrible sensitivity to pressure, hot, cold, sweet, etc.

    http://www.organicfacts.net/organic-...clove-oil.html

This stuff works extremely well, as you can put it on the tooth directly between vikes. As an alternative you can also use ground cloves.
