The old lady is actually found-footage of dining out in my part of Canada.

Ever been for a night out and had this happen?

Just came back to check my post and the bull**** advertisements youtube forces on users prevent the video from linking to the time I copied the link at (fast-forward to 5:30 if the advertisements force the video to play from the beginning).

I remember looking through catalogues or magazines and if I did not want to read an advert I could spend a second flipping the page and happily ignore something I would rather set on fire. It only takes a few seconds for advertisers to put a thought in your head, and the leeway they're given now, it seems they can force-feed you mind-numbing and manipulative ideas to desire to own or buy or dream of what they're selling. Someone can try to tell me what I want all they want but I as a consumer make that decision in the end. Of course I don't have to use youtube at all and its my choice to go there, but to endure sales schemes for something I will probably not even ever end up buying, in a place for art and culture, is fairly insulting.

The maddening part about privacy in our world is that the issue is not getting better and many people are already numb to the effects of constant intrusions.
