I honestly think the first book is good, the second is average and the 3rd is downright poor.

I like a lot of Stephen King books - I liked the Dark Tower series a lot. Shawshank redemption and Apt Pupil are extremely good.

Currently im actually reading The Lord of the rings because i never quite made it through it so im trying again.

    Other stuff....

    Orwell's 1984
Piers Anthony's Xanth books - utterly bizarre, frequently weird, strangely compelling
    Terry Pratchetts Discworld books
    The Partner by John Grisham
    White Viper by Terence Strong
Creed & the ghosts of sleath by James Herbert
Yann Martell - The life of Pi (better than the film)
    Dante's Divine comedy
Helliers catch 22 (heavy going but worth reading
William Golding - the lord of the flies

Iain Banks - Any of his books. Sci-fi but interesting was how he was introduced to me. lol. Definately worth a read

Cristopher moore, I've had Lamb recomended so many times but not got round to it yet.

Clive Barker - Anything. He's probably the best horror writer i've ever read. The books of blood are one of my favourites of all time (the Body Politic is amazing in its idea), as is Coldheart Canyon.

Honourable mention for the Necronomicon - seriously... its hilarious watchin peoples reaction to it sitting on your coffee table. And its a pretty funny read too if you share my mindset of it all being ridiculous.

The Dan Brown books are ok to read if you like that kind of thing.

I guess my taste is a little random... lol

    In no particular order:

The Grass is Singing - Doris Lessing
To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
The Hitchhiker's Guide series - Douglas Adams
    Pompeii - Robert Harris
War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy
The Complete Works of William Shakespeare - William Shakespeare
A Farewell to Arms - Ernest Hemingway
    Great Expectations - Charles ****ens
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? - Philip K. ****
A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking
The Life Of Isaac Newton - Richard Westfall
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant - Stephen Donaldson

A random selection from books I own and have read more than once. I actually enjoy other books by most of these authors.

I want to like Terry Pratchett so much, I really really do. I completely appreciate his talent and amazing intelligence but I just couldn't get into his style of writing.

For light reading I enjoy Salvatore as well. Haven't read the last 2 Drizzt books yet. I think I liked the setting best when all the houses were actively and openly warring in Menzoberrazzan. Love the court intrigue stuff!

Historical fiction is always great too. The Oracle Glass by... ah can't remember, was really well done. Kind of a high-brow trashy novel- love it!

I read the whole Elric of Melnibone series when I was in college in the early 1980s and have re-read it many times since. I thought it was awesome, I liked the whole Order vs Chaos thing, and didn't realize that Elric was a Mary Sue until years later. But it's still my favorite.

Love that series, the 4th book can't come soon enough. My all-time favorite series is The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind.

My sister kind of forced me in to liking reading. More recently I have started to like audio books.

    -Ender's Game
    -To Kill a Mockingbird
    -1984
-Jane Eyre (I like Gothic literature)
    -IT
    -The Sword of Shannara series
    -Lord of the Flies
-The Warrior Heir (I didn't like the follow-up mutch)
-The Perks of Being a Wallflower
    -Everlost
-Marley and Me (reminded me of my puppy :3 )
    -The Looking Glass Wars series
    -Some Warcraft books
    -The Odyssey
    -Septimus Heap series
    -White Fang
    -World War Z

    And from my childhood:
