After that George kills off all the characters, book by book.

Pretty much this... After the 5th book I think there's only 2 or 3 characters left I actually feel emotionally invested with in any way :X

I like the series, I like the books. Season 1 worked much better than Season 2 though in my opinion. Enough slow (and very physical) character development and lots of gripping moments in the book let it to really work as a series. Season 2 is where you start to lose too much of the fine detail and lonnng conversations/interior monolgues for it to work as well IMO.

I started losing it in book 3 as well. The HBO series renewed me a bit. Arya is awesome and I want to see her char play out.

Yeah, every time I get invested in a character they seem to die... Why waste so many pages developing these characters that don't play a major role in what happens?

I'd love to read some books about the people who are actually running things in westeros/essos.

Loved season 1 eps.
Season 2 big let down, seemed very rushed and like they skipped a lot of story line especially the last 3 esp's. Almost seemed like they got to ep 7 filming and said, ohhh crap, we need to fit all this into 3 eps, we need to trim big time.
I haven't read the books but if it seemed to me that it was rushed in season 2 I'd hate to think what someone who has read the books thinks...

You should try the books. Theres much more information especially about the things beyond the wall, and how they trully played out.

I'm almost at the point where I see them as completely seperate. The books are fantastic, though as others have said... it's frustrating when people die - However I don't think it's too much of a problem... at the end of the day, the story is what happens in the world, not necessarily individuals. If you attach yourself to the story, rather than an individual, it's far less frustrating.

The problem is that the books are mainly about character development and description. Very little story actually gets progressed in each book.

I'm the biggest fan alive and i love GoT more than any serie atm. Alcatraz is pretty good though.

If they had 20 episodes a season instead of 10, I think it'd be better... there's just so much they have to cram in to cover the story... and even then they often miss out important stuff, or change the perception of characters between book readers and show watchers.

It's like Jaime... he's made out to be a massive ****, but when you actually read it, and know what he's thinking, and the reasons behind his actions, eh is a pretty cool guy!

I walked in during some weird gay scene. Yuck. Changed the channel...haven't been back.
