You log in.

You take 17 hours 22 minutes and 44 seconds to create a toon with a face that does not resemble some kind of diseased fungi.

You spawn outside a small village and proceed towards the nearest npc. Well, you thought it was an npc. It one shots you.


Start again.


This time you remember some fof your character settings but the name is permanently reserved even though it is permenently dead (some mod king will get a god mode in at some point so the death thing wont be a problem).

This time you avoid the npc and head towards the nearest tavern. You are confronted with a loading screen of indescribable beauty. Five minutes later you are back in the game and are a bit disappointed with the bland textures and muted colour scheme.

As you lurch awkwardly through the low gravity and viscous atmosphere to the tavern you are confronted with yet another beautiful loading screen.


5 wonderful loading screens later, you reach the tavern and address the npc with a "?" above its head. The NPC informs you that he has need of an adventurer such as yourself but first you must join either the magic, mercenary, or thieves guild. You could also join the local church of Bratwit the Deranged but if you do that, every guard in the game will regard you as KOS.

25 loading screens, 7 crashes requiring reboot and a system security hack warning later and you get your new quest. The quest is to go and visit the local church and guilds....

and so it goes on.

You go play if you like. Ill stick with Rift.
