Default HOOAH! soldiers and vets roll call!

(or Hoorah, Oorah, Hoo-yah Huzzah, etc...)

    SOUND OFF!!!

I'm noticing a lot of soldiers in these forums, as well as a lot of former soldiers and veterans. Doesn't matter when or for how long you were in, what branch or country you served under, sound off and show these folks just how many of us there are!

I myself am a 10-year veteran from the U.S. Army and served most of my time as a military policeman(for those who know about us MP's don't worry, I wasn't the power-trip a-hole kind, lol. hated those types), at Fort Hood, TX under the 89th MP brigade. Some of my duties included K-9 trainer, Provost Marshal guard, and Traffic Accident Investigator. Did a short haul in Kuwait as a guard during clean up operations after Desert Shield.

A lot of my family are retired military, and I have some cousins still serving. Mostly Army, but some were Navy or Marines.

Ok enough about me, share your military experience! Keep it civil, though folks. We've all had different experiences in the military. I'd REALLY, REALLY hate to see this thread devolve into the condition that some of the others have. Be proud of your service, but also respect others' opinions and situations.

    Thanks.

I started out with 4 years in the Air Force, then 8 years Army. I still work for the government as a civilian. The pay is better and I'm home more often

I have 12 years in the navy and I'm a sonar technician which means I find submarines with sound. I've been to places such as Mexico, Canada, Peru, Panama, Chile, Guam, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Russia, Bahrain, Japan Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Timor, United Arab Emirates, etc. can't remember the rest lol.

I'm also a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and I've been stationed in San Diego, Florida, Washington, Virginia and I'm currently in Japan.

I work at a VA hospital and made that choice to serve our men. My dad served 3 tours in Vietnam and instilled in me a need to serve our soldiers.

I love my boys, and they are "MY" boys. Thank you all for serving.

PS your all so cute in your uniforms!

Unnecessary thread is unnecessary. Stop stroking your egos and looking for handshakes.

I insist people do a little thinking before using terms like "Defending our country" or "defending our freedom" . The Iraqis and afghanis didn't attack us. Everyone is proud of service to their country, but be choosy with your words and keep it low key (not aimed at anyone specific).
