    Default Mice

So, I'm on my third Razer Deathadder, and the scroll has been starting to act weird recently. The first two started double clicking on their own.

I really like the Deathadder, but changing it every few months is getting annoying. I'm leaning towards switching to something different.

What mouse are you using and/or recommending?
    its = possessive, it's = it is | whose = possessive, who's = who is | your = possessive, you're = you are | too = also or too much, to = to go or to do, two = 2 | their = possessive, there = a place, they're = they are | than = comparative, then = deals with time

I've just bought a Logitech G500, very pleased with it and it's nice and cheap compared to a lot of so called other gaming mice, take a look at it anyway.

I use the Deathadder personally. How long did it take you to go through three of them? I have had mine for a year now and no issues at all.

Companies to look at are Razer(of course), Saitek, Roccat, Logitech, and Microsoft.

I personally haven't found a logitech mouse that I have actually enjoyed (great keyboards though).

This mouse from Microsoft is nice for the price : http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/ga...s.aspx?pid=087

    Have: logitech mx518

    - its a nice mouse, honestly I feel it is a little bit overhyped, but what gaming mouse isn't. It would benefit from more dpi.

Want (will soon have): steelseries wow cataclysm mouse

based on some research, the cataclysm mouse seems like a much more polished and refined version of their 2008 wow mouse.
obviously, i don't intend to use it for wow though.

The razer naga is way too small for my hands (for a lot of peoples' hands), and when i hold it I can't say that it has more than 6 'usable' buttons (based on their placement). Plus I have seen way too many software problems with razer products (including the naga), and frankly most other razer products (and I'm still bitter that belkin teamed up with razer to make the n52te, which resulted in completely fubar software for the device I had been eagerly anticipating).

update, I now own the wow cataclysm mouse

    first impressions:
it fills the hand nicely, it's a big mouse. buttons galore. software seems to work very well, and has every feature I could imagine wanting. up to 5000dpi (and of course it's set to 5000, with mouse movement speed turned down, to create very precise tracking). it glides super smoothly. braided cord is not stiff (doesn't move the mouse when you let go). assigning keystrokes to buttons requires creating a macro, but that's super easy, and you can do it to any of the 12 buttons (not counting R & L mouse click). all buttons are in relatively easy reach (for me anyway, but i am a large nordic-valkyrie/WNBA type). buttons all have a good positive 'click' feel without being hard to press. so far I love it. enjoying it much more than the boyfriend's naga.

...it is pulsing blue at me, just to be a dear and match my other computer lighting, I half expect it will bring me breakfast in bed later...

I'm using Razer Orochi at the moment (bought it about 5 months ago). Like it so far; no real concerns or problems. Still working fine.

Thanks for the tip, although I'm not quite sure I like the mouse. Awesome Youtube page though. Watched some of his reviews, and I actually decided to get a new headset after doing so! (Logitech G930)

I actually had to check the dates I ordered the different mice to find out how long I had each one. I'm terrible at keeping track of time. Anyway, I ordered the first standard Deathadder 2009-03-25. I'm not sure when it started double clicking, but the next mouse, which was the Deadadder respawn, I ordered at 2009-11-17. I actually bought 2 of them at that time, one for me and one for my brother. His is still working great, heh. My current Deadadder respawn was ordered 2010-04-21. The scroll just recently started acting weird.

I think I'm just unlucky when it comes to mice. I really don't do anything that should damage them. Other than using them a lot, that is.

Anyway, after spending a few hours today checking out different reviews, unboxings and what not, I've finally decided to get a SteelSeries WoW Cataclysm Gaming Mouse. It was pretty much between that one and the Razer Naga. I like the design and the button placement of the SteelSeries mouse a lot more though. I've got fairly big hands, and I seriously doubt I'd be able to use all of the buttons on the Naga. The SteelSeries one is huge, which fits me perfectly.

Once I get it, I'll have to figure out a way to scrape off the WoW logo without damaging the rest of the mouse. ;)

Thanks for all the tips though guys, real helpful!

Personally, I use the razer orochi. It is wired or bluetooth and has adjustable DPI buttons that can obviously be reprogrammed. It is for use with my gaming laptop so the compact size is a bonus.
