    Default Calligraphy

I want to learn how to do calligraphy. Is there anyone here familiar with it? Any books you'd recommend that I can find at local stores, like walmart?

What kind of ink and pens would I need as well?

You can buy calligraphy kits, not sure if they have them at wal-mart though. Instead of buying a book, I would suggest checking one out of your local library and see if you really like it.

Hi guys. I looked around, and have been for a while.

I decided to finally go ahead and order these from amazon:

    *Sheaffer Calligraphy Maxi Kit
*Learn Calligraphy: The Complete Book of Lettering and Design

If I find I enjoy it and want to learn more I'll get these:
*The Calligrapher's Bible: 100 Complete Alphabets and How to Draw Them
    *The Bible of Illuminated Letters
    *Calligraphy Alphabets

I would love to learn it too. Our art school doesn't have calligraphy lessons so I might venture into it on my own.

I took a class back in high school on art, they never taught us that Calligraphy was an art form. Only thing is... they said I was not good at drawing, but, I was great at learning to layer paint. The teacher had me layer more paint down. I managed to make what I painted "feelable" by layering o.o

I used to do it in college. It was ok... I always hated the ink though, I can be a klutz and I cannot tell you how many times I spilled that dang ink.

I got my daughter a kit too but it is currently gathering dust in our basement.

Wow. xD. Yeah. I don't want to get started with that ink yet... xD. using the "cartridge" ones now, and if I like it and keep at it I'll buy a dip pen and bottles of ink.

Well, I gave a shot at Roman Letters and failed miserably: http://starsinsilence.files.wordpres...insilence2.jpg

Practiced for about 3 hours today. My arm hurts. :P
