Default Astronomy - I know many of you dig it. Yea baby! Yea!

I know being a bunch of smart gaming geeky folks, that many of you dig this stuff as much as I do.
My two new favorite videos... The first being the hubble deep field. (This video is being re-done and re-uploaded daily by many religious organizations with the numa numa song imbedded in it, as they really don't like it very much)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgg2t...eature=related

This one was on spaceweather, and its pretty spectacular as well... It shows debris (mainly of the rock free floating variety asteroids etc) over the past 30 years or so thats been discovered.

I'm not looking for a religious debate here, though the first video always seems to spark one, typically garnering the same answer my bible school teacher told me when I asked "what about the dinosaurs?"

The cake is a lie right?

    Cool vids!

Huge fan of astronomy and physics here. I wish I had more of a knack for math; probably would have pursued a career in one of those instead of technology. When I was much younger I used to watch Carl Sagan's Cosmos on PBS (now available on Netflix streaming), loved going to the planetariums for school trips, etc. Visited Kenndy once, just amazing to see how big the Saturn V is. Always tried to catch the Shuttle launches on TV, wish I could have seen one live, that would have been awesome.

This is my favorite science-based show at the moment: The Universe. I have the first four seasons on Blu-Ray, really well-done. And it doesn't hurt that Amy Mainzer (NASA/JPL) is hot!

I really enjoyed the second video.
    Spaceweather is a nice site.

Looking out at space with all it's chaos, makes you appreciate how well he have it, and how small we really are in the grand scheme of things.

I'm highly addicted to watching the show "The Universe" on the History Channel (On Demand).

Very amazing videos. It really does show how extremely tiny and seemingly insignificant we are in this vast, vast universe.

    Thanks for posting these videos.

I'm reading A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking at the moment. Alot of it is way over my head, but I recommend it to anyone with an interest in this stuff... it's pretty amazing.
