The game didn't look that graphic intensive, so you may be ok...

will be hard to say (unless your a Trion dev) due to the fact that most of us have not played Rift yet so we have no point of reference.

The minimum beta specs are here so that's a good baseline. We'll have to wait for the official announcement to be sure but I recall hearing a dev interview where he said he was playing the alpha game on a five year old system.

I suspect it will be a playable system, I doubt it will "max out rift" as you eloquently put it. There's a lot of headroom between what you have and the hardware available today. Even the systems shown at Gamescon were high and not Ultra settings.

I'd wait until you upgrade for two reasons.

    1) To find out what system requirements are to "max out rift!
2)To allow the latest hardware to come out provide the most cost effective solution to "maxing out rift"

I'm not a graphics card expert but I believe SLI is independent of the game itself. Your computer will be able to process graphics more efficiently regardless. Software needs to be optimized to take advantage of multiple cores but not to take advantage of SLI.

No specs were given out, nope.

I would say an educated answer to the OP's original question... All we know are the beta specs and the graphics from videos.
We can only speculate and guess on how certain computer builds will play the game. Of course the higher and better over minimum requirements, i'm sure the better quality you will be able to play the game.

Saw that last night. Might have to bite. As for the OP, as people have said, Trion hasn't really gone into much detail. You likely won't find out for sure until beta starts (and things may even slightly change between then and release).
