Whats your top 3 favorite Movie remakes?

I ask because we have a few remakes on the way, such as
    *Child's Play
    *Back to the Future

but sometimes Remakes dont go the right way, or simply fan base cant accept change.
    such as
    *Halloween remake
    *Nightmare of Elm Street
    *Friday 13

    well whats your favorite remake?

I generally don't like remakes, but I can think of two:

The Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart was quite superiour to the prior two versions.

True Grit with Jeff Bridges was better than the one with John Wayne (and I say that as a huge fan of the Duke).
I live my life with bold enthusiasm tempered by the hope that when I die it won't be reported in News of the Weird or the Darwin Awards.

    I am Legend

    The Thing

Planet of the Apes I guess would be my third. I didn't feel it was great, but I love the series and this wasn't all too terrible I don't really have a third otherwise.(or at least it wasn't as trippy as the nuclear bomb worshipping part)

i really wanna go out on a limb here. stray from the normal responses to be a little original.

Psycho. yes it was better than the first in my opion but the first had the idea and that made it great in its own way.

Godzilla, yes the 1997 remake was great cause it was awesome seeing the big guy brought to the american big screen and not done in a cheap plastic costume way.

    and....

ugh this is hard... King Kong was good... not great but fun. Dawn of the Dead was a solid remake. Friday the 13 was great just cause they got Kain Hodder to play Jason and they built it around the first few movies so u get the point without having to sit through every Friday the 13 movie from the 80's. Nightmare was good but no Robert England so minus a few points there.

I'm going to go with Clash of the Titans just because they tossed in that funny mechanical owl from the original and it had Ralph Fiennes (aka lord voldamort) and Liam Nesson. two top actors you can count on to bring a movie to life.

horror remake i'd like to see would be Child's Play, (crosses fingers)***

The remake of "Let me In" was surprisingly awesome!

Please, please no!! Original "The Crow" is being remade with imo is blasphemous!

    RIP Brandon Lee...

I can't think of many actual remakes I've seen. I guess my favorites would be Godzilla, King Kong and Tron. None are better than the originals, but they're fun and with far, far better special effects. I'm looking forward to Conan.

Some of my favorite recent movies aren't remakes but homages to / spoofs on films and stars from years past. Stuff like The Expendables, Red, and Tropic Thunder.
