    My big three.

1, combat. It's actually really boring, there is little variation in what I do, there is never any actual choices to be made in combat in regards to what I should cast. While I expect this early on in an MMO, the very fact that the developers have talked about altering classes to clarify casting rotations (indicating that they want rotations to exist), and they have talked about spam attacks (which should not exist either), says to me that it is this way by design, and will stay this way.

2, linear content design. From solo questing to level 50, up to raiding GSB > RoS > HK. The inability to be able to stop working on one encounter for a week, and instead start working on another that you still have a chance on is really quite limiting.

3, group content. Having to run the same instances at level 50 that were run to get to level 50 - and soon having to do them all again - sucks. It's just repetitive. The lack of a non-instanced dungeon or two is also disappointing.

    1. PvP - I think this horse has been resurrected and beaten to death uncountable times. Gear achieved from PvP should all have the same valor, just give better base stats to higher ranked items. Not higher base stats AND valor. It just snowballs from each expansion to pvp Rift implements and makes it frustrating for newer players to enter.

    2. Gear - Cloth gear is more attractive to a lot of clerics than chain gear, and leather is more attractive to warriors than plate. This isn't anything inherently wrong in itself, but mages can only wear cloth and rogues are effectively bound to having leather, leading to competition with 4 classes over 2 armor sets out of 4 in the game. I do hope they manage the changes well, if any at all.

    3. PvP class balance - Healing Reduction is only balanced if there an overflow of healers. Anywhere near a reasonable number and problems like Lingering Wounds crop up and make healing useless. Not sure how Rift plans to fix healer stacking, which would allow them to remove Healing Reduction from PvP entirely, this is a case where being able to change roles freely out of combat backfires on the game's health.

Default OP Good Topic - minus QQ of forum trolls.

    My Top 3....

    1. Public Raids (non guild) should automatically lockout all looting options except for Need over greed to prevent loot changes, ninja, kicks, etc... Typical Trion still thinks players will trust prefect stranger to give them their chance at loot drops. (Drop a super rare mount and watch any raid leader ponder stealing it).

    2. Horrid release of any type of epic solo quest chains. Recent one required you to do dungeon runs to even know how to start it which screams out this is not a solo quest. Same issue for that 25000 planerite required to start yet another quest line? Trion make some REAL solo content and stop making us Google for answers on how to start your so called events.

    3. Stillmoor PvP - Simple the zone has too many mobs per sq inch and the PvP there is just not worth the effort or rewards. Daily PvP quests should be worth ALLOT more then 3000 favor. Pretty sad when you can do more WF in the same time sink and make 10 times the amount of a daily quest in favor.

You didn't have to qualify your post as being a former WoW player. I could pick up on it instantly with your list of whines. You're coming from a game with training wheels and acting everything else is abnormal.

    1) I don't like the way Trion constantly nerf things to make this game ezmode.

    2) I don't like warfronts... they are boring and tactics are non existent.. Matches are decided within the first minute.. whoever pew pews the most sets the tone for the rest of the warfront in 90% of cases.

    3) I don't like PvP gear. At all. Let alone it being used in raids now.

These are all small time compared to how many things I love about the game though.

Most of my WoW comparisons have to do with pvp - which is done better than Rift. Its odd how a game with "training wheels" has way more pvp depth by a factor of about 1 billion than Rift. Anyway, this fanboy attitude is kind of annoying - I want to like Rift more because as I mentioned earlier it has potential to be great, and its the only mmo past eq/wow that kept me awake for more than a minute. If you want to blindly follow your game and defend possible shortcomings, thats cool too. Fact of the matter is, some of the things repeated in this thread are possible shortcomings, and fixing that would increase enjoyment for a lot of the playerbase. By all means you can be a sheep if you want though.

As far as heavy handed balance changes mentioned a couple of posts up, I have mixed feelings on it. If something is clearly overpowered it needs to be addressed - while players of that overpowered class/spec may not enjoy the heavy handed nerf, the rest of the playerbase doesn't enjoy dealing with the overpowered aspect. You can make arguments both ways.

    Angry Tab targeting

Tab targetting! Why oh why must the client choose the 3 mobs a mile away from me INSTEAD of the 3 standing in front of me beating the hell out of my tank? Can we not implement a more intuitive tab targetting system instead of the hurp derp one thats in place? Thanks!

1/ Lack of any thought where class changes are involved .... lets nerf that .. oops did we do that.

2/ No imagination ... lets copy and paste 99% of other games and call it rift

3/ Extremely poor testing of patch fixes ... seems that a lot of fixes break more things than what they supposedly fix.

Wait... You play Rift and think WoW has training wheels?

    lol

Anyway, not that they haven't been repeated endlessly, but:

    1) Lore. Is there any? Well, yeah, sorta, but little of it makes any logical sense, it's not very internally consistent, and, far worse, it's just not engaging. After all this time I barely know who any of the characters are, know little about them, and don't care. Hell, that last boss in CC with her long speech? I still have no idea who she is talking to or what in the world it's all about. I've asked endlessly, no one else seems to know either. I'm sure there's an answer somewhere, but no one cares. The story is poorly presented in-game at absolute best, and there really aren't any characters that stand out at all. Not a good combination.

    2) PvP. It's a joke in most MMOs, it's a pathetic joke in this one. Running around at fifty killing mobs in Freemarch takes about as much skill as high ranking players killing newbies. And now BiS for PvE comes from PvP? Seriously Trion? Yeah, real bright. From PvP dailies that don't even require you to flag to a ludicrous gear gap, PvP in this game can in no way, shape, or form, be taken seriously.

    3) Environments and models. Everything is small and reused. How Meridian or Sanctum could be called "cities", given their micro-size, is a mystery only possibly explainable by the tiny size of the world itself. The people of Telera are used to things being small, so to them I guess Meridian looks like a Metropolis. To me it looks like one building and a courtyard. As for re-use, a good example is the chain chest piece that dropped from the second or third (I forget which) boss in DH last night. Not an upgrade so I didn't roll on it, but I did shift-click to see what it looked like. Surprise, surprise, it looks *exactly* like the chest piece I had around level 30 or so. That's just... Really sad. Clearly the people of Telera have small imaginations to go with their small world, as they apparently can only come up with three or four versions of anything.

    1. Getting dismounted by lower level mobs and mob density in places. It gets rather annoying after a bit. Also, some of the lower level mobs can still do some nasty ranged damage to you. Seems a bit unbalanced---at 20, I can't even touch something 30 levels above me. Why should they touch me?

    2. PvP is quite painful for a new 50. I'm just dipping my feet into PvP for the first time and it is rough. It would be nice if there were tiered battlegrounds but suppose it is just the nature of the beast. You have to earn those ranks.

    3. Small world. For explorers at heart, I feel a bit confined.
