    Default Cellphone question

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows of a cell phone service where it has no monthly fees and you pay for minutes, but aren't required to buy minutes or else you lose them. Last phone I had made you buy minutes every 3 months or else you lose them all. I'm looking for something like that but without the 3 month requirement type thing.

My family uses a cellphone called Tracphone which you buy minutes whenever you so choose. You can buy a double minute / time card or some of the phones come with the double minutes / time plan already there. For me, I put about 120 minutes in every 2-3 months (30 dollars) and so I get 240 minutes. And doing so the time until it all expires is sitting at June 23rd 2013 for me now and it increases with each minutes card I use. So I guess they DO expire, but I mean, once you put some minutes in a few times the expiration date goes sailing off to the distant future.

Virgin does that, but you have the option of monthly fees too. They also have Android phones, and their normal phones don't suck as bad as most pre-paid phones.

This, and it works for me, because I like to keep my friends at a very small number. I always wound up with too many minutes, but I guess that works if I am calling out of state once in a while.
