Looking forward to more info. And +1 to adding a credit price. Never a fan of companies disregarding money already spent in order to chase new money. If you have your own currency, everything you offer should be purchasable in that currency.

To everyone asking about a credit price there was one originally but it was priced at zero. Which is why everyone was running around with the mount before there was an announcement.

They're likely still working things out.

I really do hope there is a credit option eventually. Even for the standard edition and even when the expansion hits instead of a pre-order. All of that is fine for me.

Since I NEED to buy this pack to play the next expansion, and someone forked real money for those credits (rex) anyway, I would be very disappointed if the credit option will never be available.

I understand I can find a workaround, like a gifter, but that requires me to put my trust in some random stranger that may or may not run off with my plat/rex.

So like because it's buy to play in this expansion is trion going to pull the same money hoarding community milking they attempted in NMT?

    Default No luck on Steam?

I pre-ordered Starfall Prophecy through Steam and it is saying it will not be available until November and there is no CD Key for me to use to get the pre-order benefits.

    Any solutions for this?

Did you get a cd key to redeem on your trion account or still have issue with it?

Since our last expansion, the team has been working hard on the next big thing for RIFT. We’re excited to finally be able to talk about how we plan to continue the story of Telara, and the Ascended’s battle against Planar forces.

The result of all this hard work is Starfall Prophecy, where the Ascended will continue the fight against Ankhet, who just happens to be hell-bent on obliterating Telara. Originating far beyond the Cosmos, this Tenebrean construct of monolithic proportions has burned its way through countless worlds and torn huge swathes of the Planes of Fire and Life loose from their primal realms. The Ascended must stop the denizens of these planar domains from destroying Telara before they can ever hope to battle the tower of Ahnket itself!

You won’t just battle through the regions surrounding the tower; the time is ripe to take the war beyond Telara and the Plane of Water into the other invading Planes. To make this possible, we take our Instant Adventure system to a whole new level, with Planar Assault Adventures. Groups of Ascended will be able to band together instantly and launch powerful, coordinated attacks on the invaders’ own staging grounds.

With Starfall Prophecy, heroes of Telara will be able to reach level 70, opening up entirely new ways to expand character abilities. Collect powerful Planar Fragments to customize gear, enjoy a whole new Active Upgrade system that rewards you for completing heroic feats and challenges, and collect Eternal Items of immense power. In other words, take all measures necessary to challenge the fate before you!

It wouldn’t be RIFT without new and exciting ways to customize how you play. As such, Starfall Prophecy brings with it the addition of Legendary Powers. Offering options for each Soul, these Legendary Powers dramatically alter the way existing abilities work. It gives you a whole new layer of customization for your character!

To power all these awesome new additions to RIFT, we’ve also dedicated a lot of effort to technical improvements over the last year. Starting with true Multicore support which we launched earlier this year, our efforts continue on with the upcoming 64 bit Alpha, which we’re targeting for late Summer. We’re committed to ensuring RIFT continues to gain in both performance and stability for an even better playing experience. We’re continuing to work on these massive improvements to RIFT’s core technology, while at the same time working closely with our partners at leading tech companies to find even more ways to improve RIFT for you.

Even after Starfall Prophecy launches, there’ll be plenty more to come in live updates, as we release additional expansion content. Our first major update after launch will include a brand new outdoor region, the Tenebrean Schism, full of dynamic content for level 70s to enjoy. As well as a brand new level 70 raid. In a continued effort to make more of RIFTs content accessible to all players, we’ll also be introducing “LFR” – Looking for Raid. More to come about that in the future!

We’ve got even more plans for Starfall Prophecy that we’ll share as the time draws closer.

Let’s talk about how you can get Starfall Prophecy. In our many discussions of the best way to make new expansion-scale releases available, our goal is always to strike a balance between supporting the cost of expansion creation and making sure people can participate on an even playing field, while maintaining the robust content in the truly massive world that RIFT offers freely to all.

Based heavily on your feedback from our most recent expansion releases, we’ll sell Starfall
Prophecy as a simple premium expansion purchase, instead of dividing it into individual unlocks like equipment slots or the ability to equip expansion loot. We hear you!

We’re happy to announce that preorders for Starfall Prophecy are now available! As a thank you to those who choose to preorder you’ll unlock the title “Starlord” or “Starlady” and have the opportunity to earn our newest mount, Opie the Artifact Squirrel, as well as earning several other exciting rewards by logging in throughout the summer and collecting daily Prophecy Tokens. Seek out Maguk in Tempest Bay to find out what all is available!

You can see all the information about the expansion and the preorder bonuses here: http://www.starfallprophecy.com

Thank you all for your continued support of RIFT from Beta through our fifth anniversary, and for sharing in this amazing journey together. RIFT is far more than just a game; it’s a bond that we all share and experience together. We couldn’t pick a better group of people to experience it with.

Level cap only? I see no mention of PA cap increase nor a ability level increase. If it is inferred I would rather see it plainly stated. Another point of confusion: must I buy this to access all this new content? Personally could care less about the mount or the title. Only really interested in raiding to get better equip but as far the raid itself goes don't really see the attraction. Dungeons, Fortress sieges, planar assaults all sound like IAs. A Rose by any other name ... etc. Is any of the existing content going to be fixed and revamped? Is someone taking a look at all the souls and abilities with the eye of bringing them in line to new content? That really hasn't been done with Nightmare Tide Edition. No new souls this expansion? Aren't we still short some souls from the PTW expansion? 60 dollars just to play with the new stuff? Going to need tons more detail on what this new stuff is and how it works before I consider shelling out any more money to the game. How does Patron status play into this?

If only buying this gave me all the previous expansions/whatever. If that was the case, I'd be in. But I haven't bought anything since SL.. which, btw, was amazing.

Will there be an option to upgrade your expansion if you bought the cheaper one initially?

    -Level cap only. Lv 65-70.
-Though with new Legendary points to upgrade chosen abilities.
-No Mastery (Nightmare Tide) or Soul Tree (Storm Legion) ability increase.
-You must buy this to access the new content. At launch, it'll be the 4.X zones (the 5th may have its main story section done, but not the more open endgame-y section at the top), 2 dungeons (unsure whether it'll even be Expert Dungeons), and 1 raid (10-man).
-Dungeons are not IAs; I dunno where you were going with that. It is instanced group content.
-Souls are getting occasional updates but there's no 'new' abilities for 4.0.
-No new souls. There's the Ascended Soul Pack from earlier, and it is likely relatively themed to this expansion anyway, as the Dream Souls were to Nightmare Tide.
-Yes, we are short Primalist souls. It is my personal theory that a large content update next year may 'finish' up the gaps there.
-The expansion is $40 USD, not $60. It is only $60 if you want the mount, Asha's raiment wardrobe, and portrait frame. I repeat, it is $40 for the expansion playable content.

And here's the part I want everyone to read.

By buying Starfall Prophecy, you are effectively buying a 'pass' to enter the themepark of late 2016 until 17 or more likely 2018 playable content that Trion releases for RIFT. It is not just the initial content, but the updates they release afterward; like how SWTOR's 2013-2014 content was all locked out to Lv 1-50 players because they didn't buy Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion.

Since Trion may be taking a 'spread out' approach with this expansion, the 'level cap' content will be sparce....at first. My impression is that it could very well only be:
-final quests in the last zone(s)
-may or may not be level cap dungeons
-only one raid at first, to taste that tier of content until later, and a LFR being tested out for this
    -special IAs
    -special dynamic events

And we'd keep busy with these through the holidays.

    Likely early 2017 updates:
    -finishing the last zone
-(hopefully) more dungeons, and (if there isn't already) upgrade of the earlier and the new dungeons to Expert tier (hopefully at least 4-5 in total; 2 introduced earlier for leveling, and 2-3 for Expert only)
-one or more 20-man T1 raids (and its Intrepid IA?), utilizing the tested LFR?

AKA a more staggered release. Buy your early pass now, or wait until 'T1' fleshes out. Either way, you've bought access to it by purchasing this expansion. Later into 2017 things will move on into 'T2' and so on, assuming things go well enough for Trion.

I want to express something: IN SOME WAYS THIS IS A GOOD THING

It means that if you don't want to buy the expansion now, it is OKAY IF YOU DON'T. Unless you're super hankering to do that 10-man(?) raid asap and get world first kills, there shouldn't be a rush. Consider it less an expansion purchase (like a product) and more a 'head start' on a batch of content that will be added to in the months after initial 'taste'.
It is reasonable to be concerned about how this treats endgame PvP and PvE, but again, it looks like it'll be its own separated off tier of power, in most ways. It'll be nice to have a 'Starfall Player' help out with Mind of Madness and Comet Of Ahnket (yes, I'm saying these may still be relevant later this year), but not essential. And we may have a separate Lv 66-70 PvP tier for at least a little while.
