I just reeaaally hope this Conquest thing is going to be open to all levels of players. The fact that it's in a high-end level zone kind of dissuades that idea, but... one can hope?
I still think it would be epic if lower leveled players could do stuff to help out the frontlines via manning catapults/siege weaponry and doing other stuff like that without worrying as much about getting roflstomped by 50's.
Two more days T_T
And if they don't get buffed up and actually enter the zone as a lower level... What would be the cut-off, and what would stop the from getting facerolled? And how would you balance it? One team could be 75% 50s and 25% other, and a different team could be 75% sub-50s and be at a huge disadvantage.
I mean let's be honest. Hardcores can get to level 50 in a week. Casuals in a month. If people can't dedicate themselves that much do you really want to be playing with them?

And earlier I mentioned some stat cap and buff/nerfs. I was thinking that with all that you HAVE to reduce healing effectiveness slightly as well. Not by alot, maybe 10 or 15% across the board (all heals). Just like you reduced AOE damage. This is because the larger the group of people the more impact thngs like AOE heals and AOE damage have on the outcome. One thing that might be cool is if the objectives and buffs you gain inside the warfront negated some of those across the board nerfs. Like say a 2% buff to heal effectiveness for every objective held. Or a 2% increase to AOE damage. etc. But I think at the start of the match, Trion needs to send the message that Rift is now a game to look at for fair pvp (not I didn't say balanced). And that they are welcoming pvp players back with open arms, even old school pvpers who may be looking at GW2 because of its DAOC similarities.
How long will this event last? If I'm not mistaken it's 7 P.M. EST. I have fencing practice and a private lesson that night, will it last til say 11?

In a nutshell, I can't fathom what you're complaining about. It won't have any impact on the sliver other than encouraging more participation. We're not talking capped team limits here where a lowbie takes the spot of someone more experienced. As far as I'm concerned, the more participation the better, especially since it sounds like Trion is allowing for "back line" contributions from crafters and such.
You sound like some cranky old guy who works all his life to make things better for his kids and then gripes because they have it easier than he did. (For the record, I'm age 65)).
