It has come to our attention that fraudulent emails are being sent to some of our players requesting they update their Trion Worlds username and password information. If you receive an email from Trion Worlds please inspect it carefully! While the link can look correct it may take you to a completely different website.

Never click a link you don’t trust! Always copy and paste the URL directly into your browser and ensure that the site you are on is either riftgame.com, trionworlds.com, or trionworlds.custhelp.com (this is our Customer Support Knowledge Base.)

Lastly, if you are ever concerned about an email you received or the security of your account simply Contact Us or go to the Support section found on www.riftgame.com and we’ll be happy to help you, thanks!

Will Rift offer a key FOB in the future to help secure authentication as well? I know that is the one thing I am looking for to help with security of my account.

I would love to see some sort of authenticator app/keyring for RIFT. I know that when I retired from WoW the main reason I never went back was because my account was hacked into well after cancelling my account. Then when offered some free time I applied for a full restoration (which was granted given they wanted a vanilla subscriber back) and within a few hours of my account being active again the spam mails started arriving.

Is also amazing to see the gold sellers that were in RIFT during head-start and launch! How were they so quick!!!

Personally I just get all my RIFT news and info from the Facebook feed (and that's how I found this post) and all help I request in-game!

I had my account on WoW hacked once. After I recovered it, I found myself to be 5000 gold richer. Man, what those hackers do to your WoW account.

I agree, we need one of those key ring things like FFXI. Where you have to push a button and enter the password within a time limit.

Would love to see both an app and a keychain, would certainly show how serious Trion is in regards to account security. Plus with the keychain it would be more money in your pocket. On a side note, do something about the bloody spammers. Its ridiculous.

The new Google authenticator works well on Android. Hopefully we'll see something soon from Trion on the Android Marketplace
