    These are some of my compiled notes on Rift. These changes I believe would really improve the game overall. I know Rift is still in a transitional state but business wise, the game is like a Diamond covered in feces. Sure it's a diamond under the feces and people on the outside may even see the glimmer of it but they won't touch it if it doesn't seem worth it. You have a game that cost millions and millions of dollars to develop, it can make a lot more money still. FF14 proves that. That game is so slow and boring. All you have to do is be aggressive when it comes to Quality of Life and server stability. Make sure the Free to Play souls are fun etc.

    Server Stability above all else but that goes without saying.

    Character Creation:
    Get rid of those old builds made by people or update them with new ones. Could easily be provided by the community on the forums.

    Make sure the newly made characters abilities are correctly placed on their hot bar.

    Re-do mastery and legendary level requirements to fit the overall 1-70 experience for example. First mastery point could be at 20 etc. The first legendary could be at 30 and gain another every 10 levels. Lower levels are missing out on the best part of the game, which is the soul system.


    For combat and playability.:

    Clarify buff types and dmg types.

    Movement abilities can be cast during other casts/channels

    Interrupts can be cast during other spells/channels without interrupting them.

    Mob cast Interrupted by playername notification.

    Consider making everyone's base GCD 1 second instead of just Rogue/Primalist

    Movement speed x10 or mounted while ghosted. Ghost concept is outdated.

    Add a continuous use or rapid fire condition. Hitting a lot of keys will be a thing for the forseeable future. Assuming there isn't a stat crunch and total game change. Why not add a macro function or have some abilities have continuous use/rapid fire?

    Ability to lock gear so that it cannot be sold or destroyed in any manner.

    For souls that are really weak, make their 61 point reward reduce global cool downs passively. Good example of souls with too much to do and too little time would be ones like defiler and warden. Combining abilities would be another option but just speeding up gcds buffs them enough to give the development team time to work on other things. Basically the balance isn't affected as all you are doing is speeding up a weak soul.

    There needs to be t1 currency into engine just like t2 into storm cell.


    The t2 trinkets from Uttila are unused besides 2. They need to be updated. Most do not even work in PVP.

    Make planar fragments and cores sell-able. This will open a new door for plat trading between players. Which in turn will end up creating more purchases of REX for the players who need plat to buy the fragments from others. This also lessens RNG. Because if a warrior manages to get a planar fragment that is BIS for cleric, now he can put it up for sale.

    Option to spend more money on a frag at once, in order to skip the animation.

    Taking away week-long locks when it comes to something like upgrading Eternal weapon, as it is a bench mark for gear/raids. It halts people from being brought up and then teaming up with friends.

    When T3 comes out, require upgrading the pieces involve backtracking in the game. Like doing DRRs, old dungeons etc. So that people cannot raid log as easily.

    Create a weekly reward for running 5 Expert level dungeons at max level so that new level 70s can get expert dungeons easier.

    Create a weekly/daily reward for running old content. This could give planar fragments as a reward or Tower frags etc. This could finally get lowbies into dungeons and it would add another option to level besides IA or quest.





    Encouraging credit purchase:

    Give every class a soul like mystic archer, having to aim and etc. A skill based soul.

    Make battle pass rewards more desirable, especially for new players. Maybe even giving out 5$ in credits at BP level 30. The credits need to be just short of buying something beginning players would really really want.

    Currency conversion for all currencies. Sell the currency conversion for plat or credits. Anything please.

    Sell more interactive dim items.
    Such as, porticulum, crafting quest people, crafting trainers. Special pools to fish from. Dance floors. Item that makes the entire dim underwater so that mounts can "fly".

    Sell Illusion items that you can keep on during combat.

    Sell the raid summon and nightmare dye again.

    Sell an item that allows a player to clear instance locks.

    Sell an item that can reroll the stats of a level 15 fragment or use fragments and that idea with a new trade skill.

    cash shop item that auto sells grey items


    Cores are useless if you aren't upgrading frags. Make them used in a new tradeskill or turn them in for tower frags.

    New circular celestial IA but with other elements and put a boss in the middle. Have invasions attack groups randomly and add footholds too.


    Allow irotp/tdnm to be ran like EOA. Just increase IRC cost to an appropriate amount. This will sell more IRC. Consider this on the new raids.

    Release new raids. Tower of anhket and a raid that is like QF.

    Add another challenge dungeon. Even if it is a hard dungeon from the past scaled up.





    Pvp:

    New pvp only rewards that only change appearance. Special weapon looks, illusions etc.

    Allow announcer packs to be bought with favor.
    Favor for pvp frag coffers.

    Increase plat sell value of pvp items to what they should be. Fix plat value of cloaks in general.

    Allow pvp dimension items to be bought with favor.

    Consider another version of Battlepass that is only PVP oriented. Like maybe even killing NPCs in Meridian/Sanctum.

    PVP quick balance notes,

    Nerf bladedancer, paragon, some primalist abilities and see where things stand. Healing maybe fine with people doing less dmg but it might feel boring. In which case, bursty dps needs to increase and healing increase then the cut down healing abilities more relevant.
    Currently Primalist is still best healer but Warrior is 2nd and on the way to best. Cleric is currently still the weakest option in pvp. However pvp is still fun.



    Advice for Gamigo:

    Server stability is by far the most important to the player.

    Content is second.

    Tease new things with pictures and not words. Even if it's a picture over the shoulder of a developer working on something and you cant even tell what it is or maybe a character in an unfamiliar zone.

    Quickly adding something new to end game content is another important task to retain players.

    All classes:

    Pets and beacons aggro and health increased or scale much better.



    Crafting:

    Starweave cloth has no real use or way to use them independently of leather. Needs an item to be crafted using cloth alone.

    Xarthian witchstone is too weak for the material cost.

    Consider making a new bag that uses starweave cloth but possibly the same size as currently sold bags.

    Cores from fragments need to be usable somehow

    Planar Frags should be trade-able.




    Planar Ability:
    Vampiric Essence should be allowed to go on offhand items. It goes on main/one hand/two hand. Why not offhand for casters?

    ==> No for the 2 above points for me : you have to choose between using an utility or using a damage ability (and yes i play melee AND caster)

    There used to be an NPC in Tempest Bay--that converted your artisan marks+Master marks for a chest -that gave some plats+some SL mats (that could be exchanged for plats as well)
    the npc was situated NEXTt to the one that gives the SL crafting dailies+gives the Comet crafting dailies--but it was removed by trion before update 4.1

    The game already has ability queue, you don't have to spam abilities just press the key/macro at the correct time and it'll be put into queue.

    For that, they should just make souls do what their intended roles are meant for. If a souls is classified as dps then the devs should make sure it does dps equal to other dps souls. All dps souls should do the same dps so no one feels like they got the short end of the stick.

    I like the planar fragment part but not the core, Also lesser/greater essences should be included in that list, It would make min maxing so much more fun. and it gives people more reasons to do Raid Rifts after getting the max rep for Utilla and BIS essences for raiding.

    I agree that raid logging is an issue since there are less people populating the game but doing old content you've done many times over already is a bad idea. Instead they should develop the game further so there are fun things to do in the open world, you know getting people to populate the world again in a fun an engaging way.

    People are really tired of running old content already, besides they've already added incentives via the battlepass for people to do older content but what ends up happening is lvl70's group up and do that content, so it doesn't help low level players at all, besides lowbies would rather do IA's which contributes to the world feeling more empty and keeping low level players away from dungeons in the first place.

    Noooooo, If that is what people want they should really go play tera or another mmorpg with that system already established, Mystic Archer isn't even fun to play and its conception was just to make Arbiter less of a **** soul for tanking relative to other tanking classes/souls. for that they should have just buffed/reworked Arbiter.

    One of the biggest mistake a gaming companie can make right here. Do not partition your content and sell those partitions to your players, It makes the game worse and devalues your product.

    Instead make these things part of the game by letting your players get them via content like maybe add these things to raid loot tables/dungeons or zone event bosses (or via some other form of play). you know making the game itself more rewarding.

    Nah, people will gear up way too fast after new content gets released and be done with the game not even a month in, though I do think the whole reward charge system is bull, let me farm essences/crafting materials Gamigo.. It isn't raid equipment.

    It would be nice if I could choose what stats I can keep on my fragment while rerolling the unwanted stats to get the perfect fragment, however I think it woul be better if I knew where to go to farm that perfect fragment since it feels a hell of a lot better to get the perfect fragment as a loot drop(kind of like getting that BIS equipment drop from a raid) rather than rerolling a fragment 15 million times. sort of like warframe with its rivens.. rerolling with cuva is a real pain in the butt.

    Nah, they're a pain to farm most of the time unless you're in a dedicated raiding guild (which there aren't many of by the way) though I do think tradeskills could use a little more love than they're getting.

    Honestly I would rather see the IA system done and over with, Instead they should make the following system a thing. Instead of doing the same IA's make the same group of people do zone events. think of them as Instant Adventure Zone Events. This would get people out in the world leveling and getting good loot plus there are way more zone events than there are Instant Adventures. Hell you could even incorporate the Instant Adventure Zone Events into pvp in seastone like an Instant Adventure PVP event where you attack the other factions capital city.

    allowing people to queue into irotp/tdnm without having their difficulties neutered would be very cool if people used the LFR system the way it was meant to be, you know waiting in queue instead of recruiting people before hand and using it to teleport in.

    They need to get people back into rift, as things are going now they're only going to lose people, If anything they need to make all the souls free and balanced. they need to add more value to the game not less. Allow souls to acomplish what their designated roles is, let dps do dps.. let heals heal.. and support, support.

    YES! Trion never wanted to build a proper relationship with its community, It only wanted to threat it like its personal credit card, doing things like this builds trust with your gamers, we could really use some.

    Not just that but find out what the community would want with pets/beacons as things stands they could use more love, like make the fire elemental for elementalist bigger. find out what your community wants.

    And there you go, that's my two cents. There are some cool ideas in here worth listening to, but most of what was said in the original post just didn't make sense to me.

    I would really like proper animations on skills, I should better be able to see things like hellfire blades like idk actual fire blades getting launched everywhere, or icy blow turns your wep into a big ice hammer for a hit, or rapid fire shot actually has my bow pop out, etc. give me a reason to actually look at the game, instead of staring at 3rd party mods to tell me what is going on and when I should move.

    and for the love of god address some sort of balance in pvp.... in a 6v6 match 8 people should not be threshers maw primalist. we dont need a nerf to pimalist either, you need to bring back viable healing and survival mechanics, to every make us hit harder last longer and provide actual healing and support and tanking to pvp.
