    Lets start with WHY we have "Ascended Courage" buff... to prevent people from getting one or two shotted, right??

    That is a bandaid fix to cover up a bigger problem... Why do players really need to hit for 30k? That's our normal damage, very high hits like that, that will usually overcome our total health... So the ONLY solution is to have a good amount of Valor, therefore you have to give us a buff to prevent absolute destruction of pve geared players and fresh 60's.

    Reduce player damage by -50%, reduce ALL NPC Health by -50%... That will not change the damage ratio at all, only decrease numbers, because they are so high and unnecessary.

    Valor should be a great PvP stat, but players without it shouldn't be one shotted, that's too overpowered.

    Also, with Ascended Courage it makes gear less rewarding because that's not the main source of stats, it's like stat socialism and it ruins the fun of the game...

    Less important, but Warlords is only slightly better than Freelancers... Nerf Freelancers, buff Myrmidon gear slightly to make it more desirable.

    World PvP is my favorite, but it sucks because whoever has better vengeance/valor wins and it's boring to just one shot everyone I find in The Dendrome or at the Infinity Gate. I love PvP and the PvP is LACKING because of gear disparity and imbalanced stats.

    Also, fix Mercenary... me and my buddies hate being on the Defiant side, we picked Guardian because we love siding with one faction... It makes the factions pointless, especially for people on PvE servers or hardly ever see world PvP.

    You see such high numbers because the game has to be "seamless" between PvE and PvP. And you need to see improvement in PvE, else why gear up?

    Vengeance and Valor were "meant" to help with the one-shotting situation, but it's still a problem at the very design of the game: Since level 1, you deal damage with your primary ability about equal to 30% of your max hp as a character. Now if the game started with you having 100 hp and dealing 5 points of damage, and then kept that ratio somewhat static throughout the game, it'd be an entire different situation.

    I'll likely be in the minority but I don't even like that buff's existence.

    If you want to pvp with the top ranks, earn the gear and get there like everyone else.

    Do PvP players get a buff when going into PvE raids? No.

    Another simple way to fix it is do like they did at the lower levels (20-40 or so) and even with 0 Valor have it deduct about 35% damage, and REMOVE the freakin stupid Ascended buff...

    It's annoying, that my stats have hardly gone up from when I was fresh 60 to full Freelancer because of Ascended Courage... Socialism doesn't work or keep people, it gives us no reason to work towards better gear or any incentive. Keeping people playing is keeping INCENTIVE...

    Just like There are dungeons, Expert Dungeons, T1 Raids, T2 raids etc...

    PvP feels like it's on backburner, get rid of Bolstering and give players the -35% or so reduction from player damage even with 0 Valor.

    Because I'm really losing my interest in the game, why should I spend allllll that time for Warlords if it doesn't make a difference in Warfronts? Trion is losing people by doing this...

    I'll start by saying I'm mainly a I've player and only do pvp sometimes but I agree that having 0 pvp gear doesn't seem to be that much of a problem and can be overcome with a little surprise / good build so I have no reason to ever get pvp gear

    Im not sure if OP is trolling or just stupid...

    Im rank 85 and there's no such thing as one shooting in WF or CQ. There's a lot of ways to make your char tanky with over 30k HP, just because lot's of players prefer glass cannon builds it doesnt mean that Trion should balance around it.

    Boolstering exist to ensure more balanced results in WF and CQ. Open PvP is different and boolstering will not work there, because it would make farming PvP gear pointless. Those who play on PvP servers are usually those who like PvP, so they can get Freelancer set very quickly. Those who dislike open world PvP will go to PvE server where they dont have to use PvP items every time they leave the town.

    If anything, the dmg needs to be increased by a lot, because atm players are often so tanky and heals so strong that it takes forever to kill somebody with non OP specs. Lack of dmg is one of the reasons why PvP is often ZERG based.

    If I go alone searching for PvP and meet 2 players which im unable to kill quickly because dmg is balanced for 1vs1, then im going to lose, so what this mean is that I'll always go with a bunch of players instead of alone and make sure that I do NOT lose.

    This is like playing FPS game where every bullet deal 1 dmg no matter where you hit, so basically lot's of players standing in front of each other and spamming all their keys. Current system is encouraging players to ZERG and this is very annoying and anti-fun, because your skills means nothing when your class cannot deal enough dmg to outplay more than one player at a time.

    High dmg means that you can outplay other players even in 1 vs 2+ situations, because it will become a matter of good timing, game knowledge and a bit of luck related to crits and proc on certain abilities. If you dont dont have the dmg or heals, good skill and luck will not help you, because 2 players will deal more dmg than you, even if they use only half of their abilities.

    The only problem is that some classes may lack the dmg to do so, but that's up to Trion to fix.
    PvP in RIFT is good only @forum.
