Funny how most of my desired improvement in RIFT center around inventory. Shows how well the game is doing on most levels, but inventory is a MAJOR part of an MMO and RIFT could improve daily life for us in this area.
Crafting mats take up a substantial part of my inventory. At least 2 of my 5 bags and it is generally spilling over into a 3rd or even 4th bag. Here are two potential ways to solve this.
1. Specific Crafting Bags
"The other game" had bags craftable by outfitters which had many more slots, up to 32, but could only contain items specific to that professions. So a Runcrafter's bag could only contain runes and the mats needed to create them. This system worked okay, but you did have to rely on friendly outfitters for your solution which was sometimes a problem. The recipes for these bags should be made readily available from trainers and not difficult to acquire through quest lines or expensive crafters marks.
2. Crafting Inventory attached to the Crafting Window
Similar to the recently added Quest Item Inventory attached to the Quest Log, this solution would ad 20 slots per profession to your Crafting Window. Not sure if TRION would go for this, but this would sure be a more elegant solution.
