    Default UI Importing

Wouldn't it be nice to have a function that allows you to save your UIs so when you start a new character you don't need to reset everything?

    Your wish is Trion's command......

    /exportui yourui
    /importui yourui

Exportui creates a file named "yourui" that you can then import to all your characters.

You should be able to just hit Esc. on your keyboard and click import to do this. Just the only thing is you can't transfer between shards.

I have done it on different shards. Created the UI on Shatterbone and imported it on Rockfist.

Awesome, I was just thinking about this today, after spending an hour setting up my UI. Thanks for the info!

Now the question is can we somehow save the file from beta and apply it to the live client.

You can also do the same thing for your keybindings.

    /exportKeybindings yourkb
    /importKeybindings yourkb

Useful if you change shards for any reason.

Really hope this works on live from beta. Anyone know if there are any client side files we could backup for live install to keep settings?

Took me hours to get my UI the way I wantedit, doing that over again would suck major balls.

Not sure which file it could be. The path for the game on my Windows 7 is the default so this is the path for default installs:
    C:\User\Your User Name Here\AppData\Local\RIFT

Just found this on this other thread I posted: http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...een-characters
Post number 17 should have the answer to transferring the UI settings you made from Beta to Live. Just follow the path I posted earlier to find the RIFT folder and then look for the file in there somewhere.

    /exportui <name1>
    /importui <name1>

    /exportKeybindings <name2>
    /importKeybindings <name2>

In the Rift install folder will be two files with those names without extensions that you can save for live. Hopefully the beta client and live client use the same format so it doesn't mess up. Mine was under the folder that the Rift program files were in.

Any devs want to comment on that?

Nice, glad I posted this because I would have never known that. I really hope it transfers so I don't need to spend precious leveling time resizing action bars.
