    Default Headstart/Live isnt right..

    Its more like

    Headstart = live
    Regular start = Latestart

    Servers are live, only you cant play if you havent pre-ordered because its not available in stores.

    Why does it matter if you are a week behind those that pre-ordered? If anything the game will be more stable because of it.

    Relax, when you go to the auctionhouse you might actually be able to find what you're looking for if you start at release instead of the headstart.

    ...Release date is March 1, so therefor Feb 24th is a Head-start. Not hard to understand.

    I don't see much of a point of a headstart in an MMO like Rift because pretty much EVERYONE interested in the game has it preordered because of the headstart/beta, so.. it's not much of a head start, and doesn't really help the overpopulated starting areas since everyone is playing anyones o.o

    Because I want to play now. I would be playing today if the servers where open.

    It's that simple. If you want to play on day one pre-order. If you don't, than a week won't kill you. The game will still be there.

    head start s there to evenly distribute the population smoothly, and reward loyal customer who support the game and trion by pre-ordering.

    you want to complain that ****** bag in Lamborghini driving pass you too?

    Is there any difference from a business/operational point of view? If the servers crashed for a couple days (seems unlikely based on the polish shown so far in betas but bear with me) after the official release, they might be obligated to compensate some playtime whereas any rockiness during head start period could be attributed to the headstartness.

    Headstart is pretty well established in Gaming Releases. A reward for buying early. Making the committment. An Enticement so to speak.
    You either do or you dont. Way simple.

    Head start is pretty much the official release date anyway. Most likely most of the people that are going to buy the game already have.
