Default I quit Rift because of 4.1

I waited patiently for 4.1 Kept paying my sub, as I have since year one. So now an obvious essential part of future play (Eternal Weapon) is released with a long quest line. First part of upgrade has absolutely nothing to do with rift. Click an item and you skills disappear and are replaced with some completely unrelated 2 button floating, falling game within the game. learn a whole new skill set for no reason what so ever. This crap was met with nothing but disdain When in a dungeon you were transformed into robots to fight the first boss, People who like doing this do achieves, and puzzles, etc. that have no real bearing on game play. For you to jam it down people's throats for a "must have" weapon, is complete horse dung.

I have put up with declining quality, lack of content, miserable imbalance, and a general apathy from Trion since Daglar left.

Well this is the proverbial straw that broke this camel's back. Instead of screwing around with replaced skills, put some real effort into your game and maybe, just maybe you'll retain and possibly grow your player base.

It's actually a pretty fun quest, and SUPER easy to do. I don't understand the issue here

I guess doing the 100 70 experts, 630 rifts and 1k invasions is the easy part of getting Eternals.

From what I have read, its no reason to quit, but I understand hating mini games, and vehicle quests. I hated them in wow.

It was always ride this or that, transform into this or that...beat the clock on some crazy stuff,

Shoot A mob before it kills B npc. yeah that almost always bites, I kind of like escort quests though...but not that.

Personally, I had rather kill 10 rats,..or camp a rare rat, or collect bear butts...talk to 10 hookers in multiple lands to be directed back to the first one..whatever.

Worse though are jumping puzzles, just too frustrating. I had rather logic puzzles that rely less on dexterity to be honest.

That jumping one in stormlegion, where they sadist jerk makes you relive those poor peoples memories was hell. took 2 hours. I remember that quest years later. I thought of writing a horror story about it, called ''The jumping'.'

Flame us all you like but quite a few of us *really* hate quests that require us to be transformed and not be able to use the regular skills we spent so much effort to get and learn.

I don't mind some dungeons requiring this - no God forces us to do all the dungeons so I just skip those. But putting this in as a gateway to a major game feature?

    No ...just no!

honestly the weapon doesnt even matter so its no reason to get upset, you dont need it for any content.

its an interesting carrot on trions part, basically making people that wanna get it do game content ad nauseum. i sometimes had trouble forming experts as a tank even just because of low interest now people are just gonna spam em.

personally im not gonna go crazy doing all this stuff for a weapon thats not really needed for anything.

When I heard of the "jumping" portion of the quest line, I had my reservations and voiced my opinion here and on Twitch. Vladd reassured me that it wasn't a traditional jumping puzzle.

I suck at jumping puzzles, probably as much as OP. So when the Eternal weapon quest line became available on the PTS, I hopped on and checked it out. Much to my surprise, I figured out the timing and had completed the event on only my third try. Maybe 20-30 minutes total.

I feel for ya, OP, but for me this isn't a deal breaker on my end.

Trion only gives us long grind quests because they ran out of ideas a long time ago and don't give a **** about RIFT anymore, and all of SFP is the best proof you could ask for. The so-called raids have become ridiculously easy to appease to lowskilled players, 4.0 "content" (apart from Asia-style Tok grinding and Asia-style reputation grinding) was done in 2 days, and this stupid weapon questline caps it off since it is also basically Asia-style grinding without any fun involved.

Let's face it, with updates like that, this game is dead. I've played this game for 3+ years and it's just zero fun anymore.

    How incredibly unimaginative and uninspired.

This shouldn't be a surprise, right? We knew what was coming. We could test it on the PTS. Guess now that it's on live the reality of the changes really sink in. That goes for me as well:

My biggest gripe is lack of PVP content. With 4.0 lots of PVP content got removed and after people cried about that all the way to 4.1 still nothing got added back. But because PVP was the only fun thing to do in Rift for quite some time, I've grown to REALLY like it very much. Actually, I find it more fun than any PVE content, even in its very limited state. It's always different, no match is the same. You can't predict how other players play. There is no one right way to do things. Totally opposite to Dungeons and Raids that are always the same.

Now that my calling got nerfedXXL in PVP, I thought it would be OK because there's stuff to do in PVE again. But when I started it I realised that I just don't want to do it anymore. I'm not going to grind that eternal weapon if it doesn't benefit me at all in PVP.

I can become an artifact hunter, minion tamer, stick farmer or storage support in Rift now. Or I can just play World of Tanks until Rift is fixed again. The last one is the most appealing to me.

so apparently not a lot people liked 4.1, not surprising really, it been like this for the last few expacs. so i wonder what 4.2 has to offer? I'm a firm believer in ripping the band-aid off quickly...

Default Uggh- Like Storm Breaker Protocol with a twist

I can't even.... I feel you OP. I detest jumping. I detest turning into a robot or any other thing that disallows my own character skillsets. I stopped leveling my alts because of the grind. My cleric shaman (main) was nerfed pretty bad which is also frustrating. There is no raid. I have enjoyed doing the new weeklies- to a point. Not sure what I am gearing for. So I understand why you are finished. I am a GL so I try to keep up- but I find myself losing interest daily. I want to feel that old Rift feel but I have not in 4.1. I suppose I am essentially done as well- I am in maintenance mode. I have held on and held on... but I have lost so many guildies and raiders I am not sure how to recover. My heart just isn't into it anymore.
