Because half the souls in each calling are effectively worthless. Might as well combine them for one good calling that typically falls under the same thematic branches anyways.

to simplify things we can merge warriors and rogues too, anyway warriors are useless in dps after reaver nerf and rogues tank lack in CDs

You are forgetting that Primalists have souls yet to be released. Just put the best of the remaining souls into those roles. Perhaps then the cunning and furious will learn to live in harmony. (would make loot tables better )

You could simplify this even further, just combine everything into one calling and give it a tank soul, melee dps soul, ranged dps soul, magic dps soul, pet soul, and healing soul. Then sell a bunch animation, vfx, pet, and weapon skins on the cash shop that people can use to visually customize their character to look like whatever they want.
