    It's a security flaw in either rift or archeage. Check to see if they made charges to your cc as well.

    Beyond getting this fixed through Trion, use Google's 2-Factor Authentication and save yourself a nightmare any time down the line. If someone has access to your email, they have access to any account that uses it. Paypal, banks, you name it. Secure your most valuable assets.

    I also thoroughly recommend making use of Gmail's oft unknown alias ability. It's very simple and needs no set up at all, but can provide the same benefits of using multiple email addresses to keep usernames that are email addresses different.

    Lets use the example username@gmail.com

    You can use username+rift@gmail.com and it goes to the same address. Just put a plus and whatever you want after it. username+junk@gmail.com username+12345679@gmail.com or whatever you desire.

    He very specifically stated they had access to his gmail. They were able to easily clear any coin lock or any security feature Trion has in place with that (except for mobile auth if he had that installed). The AA security issue was responded to with Glyph's new security codes.

    And this is why I refuse to store my payment info with Trion, or any other game publisher. I'll be damned if I give anyone access to my bank account. I'll pay the extra dollar for the peace of mind.

    I don't post often. I read often. I've run into Ecru a few times over gaming. Grouped,pvp;ed, etc. Nice guy. An asset to the community. If Trion isn't willing to rollback his account to fix this lousy act on someone's part, regardless of the circumstances, that sucks for the whole community. Free Ecru.

    This was my first thought. OP: Not to be rude but why would you expect Trion to sort this out for you. You even said that you know who it was. That makes it your problem not theirs.

    Just to clarify, this issue is still under investigation. The first tier of support could find no clear hack/fraud evidence (because this was not a standard keylogger kind of attack) and so had to escalate the issue to a higher tier of account specialist, but that doing so would take more time.

    This was the response given earlier by CS (bolded emphasis mine):
    (11:03:35 AM) GM *redacted*: As we're unable to locate a fraudulent IP, I am unable to assist with a restoration at this time. I can, however, transfer this to a higher tier for a more in-depth investigation than I'm able to provide over live chat. I apologize for the frustration.
    So this issue is not closed on our end, but is in fact escalated for further investigation. No need for the pitchforks just yet.

    Even more than that, never even give the email you sign into the game out. I strongly suggest again that anyone using gmail make use of the alias feature even if you just use username+gamename@gmail.com

    I had my account rolled back after having all my gear destroyed/plat taken by someone I knew. I said that specifically in my ticket and I had no problems getting a roll-back. You can check my ticket history if you don't believe me. The fact that you would do this for me but possibly not for another good customer is what I can't understand.

    Hey, Buddy, no one is getting out the pitchforks. We all realize that it's the weekend and Trion is short staffed. However, issues like this just brings it all home -- makes us go "just by the grace of God." He's loyal player who's not asking for anything extra. He just needs his account to be restored to what it was yesterday/the day before. That's not a racket, or a scam. How can it be.
