Good that they are listening finally, bad that it took so long to realize there was a problem.

I was playing just fine a few minutes ago, then the monster lag spike hits. I logged out and now I can't even sign into Glyph, although oddly enough I can sign onto the forums. Second day in a row that it's happened at right around this time. Unfortunately, I can only play in the evenings on weeknights. Hope they get this squared away soon..
Likewise. Sudden latency spikes, and a "Disconnected due to inactivity" message even though I just hopped shards, now I can't log in.
Wonder if this is going to come back to the data throughput increase that was done back Mid July.
Since I've been having the odd problem connecting to even the forums, I'd guess that the issue is either they are getting ddos'd again or the issue is a hub during primetime. I'm very much willing to defer the blame to Comcast, since they seem to be going to **** over the last six months.
Edit: they've always been ****, but there has been reports in the last six months that the internet traffic in the last 6 months have exceeded their hubs bandwidths

why does the source of lag have to be "tracked down" ?
this is a recurring issue. what was it last time? maybe that's what it is this time? is it a different issue? if so, then why does it seem like the same issue keeps popping up? why can't you stop your game from experiencing these same issues over, and over, and over, and over again after three years?
the game is unplayable atm and has been for the past few days. raiding has come down to luck in terms of lag spikes, as has getting kills in pvp. how about you tell us what it is/was last time, the time before that, or this time, and give us some kind of eta so we don't waste any more of our time trying to log in and play?
#71 It has to be tracked down because the internet is a pretty complicated thing. If it was always the same issue, it would be really easy to fix. The issue is not global, it is sporadic and is not happening to everyone.
Adding on top of the oddities that people are reporting, we've also been under DDOS attacks and our network team has been working to minimize the impacts of these.

So it is pretty obvious that you don't work in IT, or at least the parts of IT that would deal with these kinds of issues.
I do work in IT and deal with issues like this on a somewhat regular basis. From my experience latency issues like this can be extremely difficult to track down. So difficult that I have seen issues similar to this take months to track down, involve hundreds of technicians and engineers, and cost millions of dollars to find and resolve. That doesn't mean that will be the case for this issue. On the other end I've seen similar issues resolved by a single person in about 15 minutes of just knowing where to look.
These issues are far more complicated than you would think, just like the internet in general.

Based on Daglar's reply, just the fact that they are still under DDoS attacks is significant.
I wish these idiots with a hard on for causing others grief would knock it off.

Wonder if it's the same crew that was responsible for the last DDoS attack.
This is just hearsay but guild mate said he was running CQ and someone was bragging about being responsible for the lag and was doing some advertising of a product that would supposedly stop it. Prolly just some idiot, but making claims of this nature should be grounds for a banned account I would imagine.
