    P.S. :
    * Zone Events: Unmentored high-level characters may find that their damage is reduced against low-level colossi. Mentoring down to the level of the boss will allow you to deal normal damage.
I love that! Hopefully it's severe enough to make us need to mentor down.

You want downtime between kills? That seems undesirable, any particular reason why?

I'd love to have a 10 min downtime after killing a boss. While we eat our dry bread and regain our stats we can talk about the fight and how fun it was. Who wouldn't want to add additional downtime between farm bosses so we have less time on progression bosses?

    Rapid Assault is overrated.

why chars don't need to eat
Because in a video game, realism should be subservient to entertainment, not the other way around.

There are still gamers that don't have a stocked fridge next to their 'puter?
You all at least have a commode, right?

I'm having a hard time finding any relevance in your topic... in the open world, it's ultimately up to the player to decide on the amount of downtime he or she chooses to endure.

Fixed that for you. By the way, MMORPG are not meant to be arcade games. FYI.

The point of video games is to entertain. In some cases, realism can enhance that (for instance, some games have survival mechanics where you're required to eat or drink or sleep, like Hardcore mode in Fallout: New Vegas). In other cases, the game's entertainment value comes from the realism itself (like some simulation games).

But MMORPGs generally don't strive to do either of those to any meaningful degree.
