Soo.. I finally visited that stormlegion website. Meh. Trion seems to have taken Blizzard's stance towards objectification of women. I don't think I'll be buying this expansion, or even paying sub any longer.

Feminism is the radical notion that women are people.
I'm sorry to repeat myself but:
Now here's the kicker: You can't hold trion responsible for what offends you. I'm offended by people writing 'please' as 'plox' or 'plix', but this doesn't mean i must demand Trion adds these to their profanity filter.
Maybe by leaving this game you are doing the right thing, and i don't mean that in a snarky haha way.

I think it's a case of jealousy. You see, Crucia's a powerful leader, she can annihilate legions of enemies with little more than a thought, and she does it whilst managing to remain looking fabulous. What woman wouldn't feel inadequate when faced with someone tantamount to being Aphrodite's dark, bloodthirsty sister?
For the record, every calling eventually (not right away for some) has gear options that cover every bit of skin leading up to the head and neck - and even that can be covered almost entirely with the right helm. Every calling also has gear that is skimpy looking and shows skin.
The room for preference is there.
I don't mind the npcs looking like that, I just don't get why they ALL have to look like that. It would be super awesome if we had an equal amount of *** kicking females who didn't have to show all off their lady bits because, really, Cruxia looks like she be killed by one good stab to the belly.
My biggest problem with Rift is that I do, very much so, mind having totally different armor forced on me because I play female avatars. Nothing is worse than seeing some piece of armor that I'd like to wear that actually covers things up and I put it on and it's turned into a crop top or something.
Oh please lets not turn this into, "Lets be peaceful" I like to hit things with my giant sword of awesomeness.
I do get what you are saying though, people being offended by a little less clothes but no problem reaching a 300k+ players killed mark >.<
To me, its just a game guys and gals, enjoy it, don't over think it. If you don't like it then don't play, go to another game, but I can tell you this, good luck, since just about every game is going to have worse. ^.^
I think everyone should wear taco suits!!!!

I, for one, am outraged. I mean, would it kill them to be a little more active really?
If I had something interesting to say, it probably would have been in the post. [9/9 ~ 2/4 ~ 80]
People say "Oh this isn't realistic at all". Lets look at "realistic" in context here. Bear with me. First off all- historically speaking, wearing plate armor isn't all its cracked up to be. You weigh a ton and can't move very quickly... in fact you move pretty darn slowly! You have joints that can be poked and stabbed and generally make your life a living a hell. I dunno about you guys, but if I (for whatever reason) had to get into some weird medieval fight with someone, I wouldn't lock myself into one of those steel deathtraps :-P
Secondly- I may be alone in this, but if I'm fighting for my life I'd prolly do whatever the crap it took to win. See some hair to pull? Pull that hair! Gotta sneeze? Sneeze in their direction! Whatever it takes, man. That being said, if I was a female fighter I would certainly have no qualms against using sex appeal to distract the hell out of male opponents. They would likely, and foolishly, put down their guard (big burly hairy man in animal skins or very attractive, scantily dressed female- who would you be more scared of? Instant advantage! By the time they realize their mistake it's too late), they might find themselves less than 100% focused on the fight, and admit it- moving around is really easy when you aren't wearing a bunch of clothing. Why do you think martial arts Gis are so loose? Next best thing!
So, "realistically", if I were female and knew I'd be fighting for my life constantly I'd probably do the same thing :-P Basically guarantee that the majority of the members of an entire gender wouldn't stand a chance against me =D
If women were as easily distracted, I'd suggest males do the same thing! =D

All this fuss and EVERY SINGLE PIXELATED TOON, yep men and woman, can now strip down, using wardrobe, to the ugliest skin coloured underwear set I have EVER seen in my life.
Where are all the complaints about that huh?
It's not even that too many pixels are showing. It's the look of how the pixel clothing is fashioned. If her bra didn't resemble two hands and looked more like ugly flesh skin... umm... let's say fish, would we be having this discussion?

Everyone that's complaining about objectification of women in MMOs needs to take a step back and take a look at the big picture here. Rift's a HIGH FANTASY game, no doubt, so take a look at high fantasy art. The artwork and designs based on high fantasy are very obviously objectifying MEN and WOMEN. Men are big, muscular, and powerful. Women are sexy, show plenty of skin, and kick ***. One thing people need to understand about fantasy art/design is that it is not, in any way shape or form, meant to be realistic.
Realize that alot of fantasy art isn't done by some neckbeard trying to visualize his dreams of a top-heavy, golden skinned Victoria's Secret model wearing a chainmail bikini wielding a 75lb greataxe cutting down demons. Alot of it is done by women, for example Julie Bell's artwork.
It's a genre style, if you want low fantasy/medieval realism, read or watch A Game of Thrones or play Mount & Blade.
