Default Rift Interactive Map v. 1.1.1

Rift Interactive Map shows the location of Porticulums, Instances, Puzzles , Cairns and various NPCs throughout Telara, among other things!

Version 1.1.1 is a small update from version 1.1.0, which adds the location of the new Porticulums in Ark of the Ascended and Divine Landing to the Map, along with a few minor fixes to the loading scripts.

Click here to go to the website

    Version 1.1.1:
    • Added the location of the new Porticulums in Ark of the Ascended and Divine Landing to the Map.
    • The word "class" has been replaced with the word "calling" throughout the Map.

I'd love to make it as an addon, if only there were a way to run a Flash Object through an addon. As far as I know there isn't unfortunately.

There's a very complicated way to work around it, which would make the Map open on top of the Rift window, rather than inside it. Much like Steam does, if you're running Rift through Steam. I have a friend who looked into this method, and he couldn't figure it out even though he's a descent programmer.

I hope we'll be able to figure it out one day though.

Are you familiar with CoH and VidiotMaps? I'd love to see something like that for Rift.

Have to disappoint you, as I have no knowledge of CoH nor VidiotMaps.

Well it doesn't -need- to be in flash. Perhaps you could take a gander @ EQ2MAP and rip them off

Its a beautiful addon for Everquest, and Im sure you could make a similar one for rift

Darn, wanted to see the website! But my firewall won't let me connect from the USA to any IP address range assigned to Russia/Ukraine.

Yea, that is a nice website. After my last post I investigated more deeply into why my firewall was blocking, and found out that the IP address range for the site had been reallocated to Denmark since I obtained my firewall blocking list, and it is no longer allocated to Russia/Ukraine. Denmark has a long history of friendly relations with the USA and Europe (my firewall blocks countries that do not). So I was able to allow the address range for connections and take a look. Nice website work (and the OP is a good Flash programmer too).

Ahh you bought the McCarthy Firewall(tm)? Good choice.

On topic though, you should really have the map larger, no one uses screen resolutions of 640x480 anymore.

You should see at bottom left an icon with arrows pointing to each of its 4 corners, click it to make the map go full screen.

Off topic: No, AmundS. Googled it a few mins ago & could not find a firewall of that name. I exported ZoneAlarm Pro settings and wrote a couple of programs to insert all the assigned country IP address blocks (thousands, from public online records), and imported the result back into ZAP in the format it needs. Guess I need to do it again, been years now since that compilation and I see the OP's web address had been reallocated at some point since then. I'm very security conscious and geeky (early retired), it's just one line of defense. I'll never forget seeing my comp with a brand new virgin CD install of Win98 get hacked right in front of my astonished eyes immediately when I connected it online after having already installed by CD and configured the BlackIce firewall, intending to get the MS updates. Been paranoid ever since!
