    Default Extra Life

It was amazing, there where so many Guardians in Divine Landing that you had line up to wait for Wanton Embers. So fun to see that many people Rifting at once.

Somehow about 12 hours in my High Elf rogue turned into a Trickster for about an hour but the little guy still kicked serious butt.

Great island party and tower jumping at the end.

In real life I'm a full time caregiver so I'm not able to get out and do other type fund raisers, so thanks Trion for this wonderful opportunity.

    MORE MEEEEAAAAD

To Elrar, Abigaile, and all the other CMs that were on this weekend: Thank you for a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, I missed the naked Sanctum run that happened in the wee hours of the morning, as I chose the safety of myself and my kids for something we had to do on Sunday that involved me driving two hours round trip. However, I have seen pictures, and am highly amused.

Watching various players and their pets get transformed into various beings kept things hilarious. I did manage to get 24 levels in 24 hours, and would have had 25, but I chose to go back to Freemarch and finish out my gathering professions there so that I could level them as I continue through Stonefield.

Thank you to the community on Belmont. You welcomed a massive influx of people with grace and aplomb.

Thank you to the folks at Extra-Life. You gave us yet another reason to all come together and show that we are NOT creeps stuck in a basement somewhere.

Thanks to the MMO Reporter crew for letting me run with them. They are a GREAT bunch of folks, and if you are looking for a casual/social guild on Faeblight, Defiant side, I highly recommend The Collegium, their guild.

I met new folks. Some Europeans even made characters on the American servers to help support us! BigPurpleCharityGuy, it was a fun night stealing artifacts from you and teasing you about your tab targeting. Mawngoose, GOODNESS GRACIOUS and, well, your "other" phrase. It was great tanking for a group consisting of myself and 4 males of various ages. I hope I taught them all that women, can indeed, tank. And do it well. And not "for a girl."

A lot of folks tried other roles, and I did, too. But when push came to shove, and we needed a tank, Katnyp answered the call. I hope that Malach got a few good tips as he tried tanking for the first time. The whole group was extremely supportive, and never once told him he was doing it wrong. Malach, you can tank for me anytime. Purple, Mawngoose, you can heal me anytime.

All in all, I had a LOT of fun, helped raise money for a great cause, and really enjoyed interacting with folks I usually just heckle from the chat room.

The cries of Mead was awesome. I ended up grouping with a great group of people and stayed with them the majority of the time. Laughed so much and had so much fun! (Until I crashed out in exhaustion. Heck getting old stinks, my bedtime was 9pm est lol)

Favorite part, going into Meridian the first time and seeing the mass naked dancers there. Took me off guard!

Thank you Elrar for being there and making it a tee total blast. It's fun to play with the developers and CM's!

    Default Thanks for the memories.

The guardian chat on atrophinius was hilarious. I can't remember how much time had gone bye when people started losing it. 80's songs being sung, naked running to IPP and Meridian (missed meridian sadly, but it sounded fun). I was so tired by the end of the night the scrolling speed in chat made me nauseous!! I started the night meeting new people and questing together, thank you everyone for your help and thank you Trion community members for making the night so much fun.
For some reason whenever i close my eyes all I see is the word MEEEEEAAAAAADDDDD!!

Had a total blast playing! Got my warrior (Ryku) up to lvl 25 before I crashed. Kids said I started talking to myself and told me to go to bed . I didn't rush my level because I wanted to learn the warrior style vs the rogue I normall play on Briarcliff. And let me tell you what a difference! Not use to the 'slowness' of the atks on the warrior 2H but eventually I got use to it. Just wanted to say TY to Trion, Devs, CM's and especially the players for an enjoyable time. yes, even when the server's 50's decided to come to Silverwood to PK us when we where lvl 10 and flagged. I guess thats the best PVP you'll get on a PVE server . Not sure if I'll move or stay but we'll see. Tks again for a great event....

One of my favorite memories is defending Argent Glade from an invasion of level 15-18 elites. most of the folks were around level 10-12 by then and we were just absolutely butchered. But, we kept rez'ing and zerging the invasion... it was just awesome... an absolute MOB of players attacking and the npc invaders wading through all of us. So much fun!

I think a Dev (Hartsman is it?) came in his level 50 R8 gear and finally saved us from the slaughter.

I had so much fun. My most memorable moment was in Argent Glade, working on an invasion and looking over to see Dev_Hartsman standing next to me. That was cool. I also ran Library for the first time and had a blast. It was fun seeing so many people that I follow on Twitter playing. I can't wait until next year.

The whole thing was really fun. I was super impressed by the community quality -- we had basically one person trolling, and he was mostly being funny about it, rather than being a jerk. The rest of it was very positive. Got my bard up to level 23. I had to sleep some during the event because I was sick and I couldn't sleep before the event (cats!), but I managed to clear 25 hours /played anyway. Barely.

Really fun experience, and I think it was awesome that the Trion staff were participating in the event, not just asking us to do it then ignoring it.

Would love to see some total numbers (number of players who signed up for it, total hours played, etcetera).
You can play WoW in any MMO. You don't have to play WoW in RIFT. Oh, and no, RIFT is not a WoW clone. Not having fun any more? Learn to play, noob! I don't speak for Riftui, but I moderate stuff there. Got ideas for improving the RIFT community? Feel free to PM me. Just came back? Welcome back! Here's what's changed. (NOTE NEWer URL)

I KNEW you were watching me on Belmont Seebs! I knew it!

On a more serious (yeah right!) note:

    - Found Elrar!
    - Asked Scott a question... and he answered:O (now I regret I didnt asked about replacing old kelari/elf models with actual Kelari/elf models!)
    - Enjoyed overall silliness and goofiness in chat!
    - Energy meeeeeeaaaaad! (Should make this an official Rift drink!)
    - Look at Walshingham's horse, his horse is amazing!
    - found out in Trion work actually REAL PEOPLE (and quite funny lot to it).
    - ofc leveled a character and played a lot of WF's, especially LIBRARY!
    - Got 25 hours (unfortunately split, because event started at like 16 or 17 of my time).
    - found an Ash Strider drop!

    MORE SUCH EVENTS!

My old computer wouldn't run Rift well at all. So as much as I loved it I had to give it up until the new computer was built. I didn't even hear about the event until Thursday! I did my best to drum up support. But it didn't looking promising. Nevertheless, I came prepared with snacks and drinks to get me through the grind. It was looking very much like my only donation would be the one I made to myself. Then in one of my breaks, I checked my donation page and WOW! I had made my goal! One anonymous donor put me over the top. But what made this my most memorable moment was finding out it was the man who has shared my life for 34 years now that made that big donation. All he said when I hugged him was "Its for the kids." I still get a tear in my eye just typing it. Thank you Trion for a wonderful, thoughtful, and fun event!

P.S. I have to admit I only made it to level 16. With the new computer I spent ALOT of time just strolling around and looking at the scenery. What awesome graphics I had been missing!!

The huge community participation in this event was amazing. I loved that no matter where I went, almost everyone I saw had the Extra Life guild tags. It was a day of silliness, playfulness, serious critter killing and all out chaos for a great cause and I loved every minute of it.

I'm in for next year! And if there is anyway to other community guild events like this, whether for fun or charity or both, whether 24 hours straight or a weekend, I'd be in for that too. It was too much fun to wait a full year to do again.

Thanks again Trion for having it. Thanks staffers for keeping us entertained and mixing it up with the masses. Thanks players for making it so fun.

    And this...

Those children have a mental strength far greater than their years.
    Except I didn't work at a Children's Hospital.

However, and this is why I participated in this event, I spent a great deal of time in a couple of Children's Hospitals as my daughter fought her TWO battles with cancer. She would not be alive and well today were it not for Children's Hospital (Cincinnati & Columbus) and the amazing people there. There's just no way to describe it.

I too saw so many young, brave kids who were there for such a LONG time. And I got to know some of them and their families. And I saw some of them who did not leave. And I grieved along with their families and even the staff at the hospital. I truly don't know how they do it. There is great joy in the successes, and great sadness in the loss of each child. It takes an incredible person to dedicate themselves to facing these extremes every day.

This was an amazing weekend. My girlfriend and I had talked up the event on our home server of Estrael for a couple weeks. I was very pleased, proud, excited (and a host of other adjectives), to see the great turn out from Estrael. We had a blast playing with people we know, people we'd just met and all the great people from Trion.

A couple of the things I remember most were...

...creating my character Friday night, and finding so many already there doing the same. We chatted for a while and then went to bed to get some sleep before the marathon.

...waking up the next morning at 7:00 am (Eastern), as excited as a kid at Christmas. Not being able to wait for the event to start, we logged in and sat and chatted with a LOT of other people who were as excited as we were.

...the big wave of excitement around 3:00 am when it was announced that we had broken the $1 million mark!

...the bittersweet feeling when the event came to a close. We had so much fun. All the emotions were amplified by the exhaustion. It was an amazing, incredible experience which I will always keep with my most treasured memories.

I will do it again next year, and the next year, and the next... as long as Extra Life exists, I will be there.

Thank you Trion for the opportunity to be a part of this.

I just wanted to say I had a blast what a great event and although I didn't raise to much money I am happy I could contribute $100 to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. They do a ton of great work and nothing is harder for people to deal with then sick children.

Thanks to everyone that came out to support heir local hospitals, and thanks for sharing a great weekend with me.
