x-shard LFD = death of dps

I que as tank and dps, trying get more tank gear, and I find that I get picked as dps about 50% of the time, at least during peak hours. Generally when I get a pop as tank it's almost always a dps that declines the invite and we have to wait. I que as healer/dps/support on my mage and I get pops pretty quick for all three, not at the same time.

Be careful what you wish for, at higher level ranges you end up with one dungeon that you keep getting for about 10 levels straight, even after half the mobs have gone grey for you.

Omg yes! Level ~40-48 were the worst for me. I tanked those two sooooo many times I found I enjoyed grinding mobs more.

Even in the lower level dungeons, it wasn't as bad for dps before the x-realm LFD. Yesterday I queued up as dps and the queue was about an hour and a half, then we wiped and the tank bailed then the healer bailed and no replacements joined for another hour when I just said "**** it"

Another queue another 1,5 hours and another wipe at the 1st boss in RD. Tank bailed then healer bailed and waited 30 min before we bailed too.

This situation didn't happen before. Queues were 30 min tops for dps and about 10 min for tanks and healers. The only ones who are favored by x-realm LFD are tanks and healers who now have instant queues. Dps can just go **** themselves, right Trion ?

DPS players on the shard I play are enjoying at least twice the wait now that were sharing our shard's tanks with other servers who clearly have much less of them. At least twice the wait I tell you. We would be screwed if we didn't run five man dungeons exclusively in guild, which is all we are doing since this is happened.

Thats socialism and it will fail even in a video game. The proof is we don't use LFG outside of full groups anymore. So a tankless shard might be enjoying it now, but its a limited time offer before people catch on and go back for forming groups out of not wanting to wait.

Most players play dps. Look in the mirror and you will find the root of the problem.

What is the problem with trying to get a feel for people before you run with them? It's not a matter of being "cliquish"; just about everyone makes judgments on whom they would like to spend time with.

I have no issue wth this but one can look at EQ2 and see why Trion sees this as a negative. They just did server merges. Depending on the server there are anymorefrom 700 to 1500 people online on average (1500 is AB and yes I did actually get these numbers by logging in and counting.) Most players are at end game but they still call for server merges thinking this will fix the problem. The problem is that it is an old game where semi-exclusive circles of players have formed. Some of the effects of this are very casual players with thin networking having issues getting groups via PUGs and new players coming to the game having issues finding groups and so get discouraged and leave

I don't think Trion knows any such thing. When I look here http://www.trionworlds.com/en/careers/, I don't see anything like "statistician", "data analyst" or any other research-related job title. The only kind of analytic position I see there is "Payment Fraud Analyst." The implementation of cross-shard does not look like the result of any kind of market research or data analysis; it is here because of people crying on the forum that they want cross-shard.

The overall role balance (not class balance, since all classes can fill more than one role) is not something that is likely to change from server to server. Cross-shard cannot fix it; the only fix would be to change the tank/healer/dps/(support) paradigm.

The task you note is often given to the guy who runs the data base and does the data mining. They often get titles like Network or Data Base Administrator or something equally generic. In a business like this it's actually easy on their side to see this stuff. Just about everything is tracked, it's just a matter of having it populate into a data base or spread sheet. The jobs you note are seperate positions in a business where the tracking of the data is not automated and instead needs not only numbers to be crunched but a person to actually do th leg work to get those numbers.

And you do know that the reason they down graded it had little to do with the strength of the US Economy but was largely a shot across the bow regarding the current political squabbling and the ack of political will this is evidence of right? That is why S&P did it but NOT any other CRA including Moody's or Fitch (the other 2 of the big three). This was also extensively covered on NPR by they way, I am surprised you didn't hear it because you could not be ignoring information just to be argumentative for argument's sake could you? That and the BBC world service is all I listen to for a 12 hour work shift.

So it's not about capitalism in this case but rather the 2 edged sword of 2 party democracy baby.
