    Default Plugins for RIFT?

Are there plugins for it? Specifically a DPS plugin?

And if not, how do you know what DPS you're doing?

    Default Hopefully...

Hopefully the Mods will lock all the "we need dps meter" threads like they did today to the "server merge" threads - really, do we need 500 of them?

    Welcome to Rift, Xiggog.

You'll have to pardon my battle-weary forum friends above, it's just that there's been what can be called a glut of threads for the first six or so weeks of the game's life that have been centered around plug-ins, and specifically dps meters.

Without getting into the pros or cons of either side, let me just say that at this time Rift does not support plug-ins as such. There are supposedly some combat log parsers out there that will let you dump your log in and analyze your damage. But there's nothing right now that allows real-time representation of your dps.

Hope you enjoy your time in Rift. Peace.

    This is untrue.

Get the RJParser from http://www.riftjunkies.com/. Install it, enable the overlay. After you do this, set Rift to full-screen window mode. After each encounter it puts everyone's DPS, according to rank, into the windows clipboard.

Simply press Ctr-V after every boss and show everyone their DPS

Wasn't aware of that, thanks. From your description, it still sounds like it's an "after the fact" report, but it's still something.

Obviously he's trying to learn. That's why he needs feedback.

    Thanks for the answers guys
Personally I don't care much whether the game has plugins or not, I just don't want to be the idiot that doesn't know he's DPSing poorly if everyone else has meters and knows what they're doing :P

    No problem at all.

By the way, you'll have to sign up to download the parser. If you just want the parser with no fuss, I recommend Bloody Vikings.

The way I know I'm doing enough dps, is when the mob dies, the tank is at full health and the healer has mana to spare.

If this isn't happening, you aren't doing it right.

While probably true, and a nice, witty answer, if this is not true, do you know why? who needs work on their rotation? usually there are 3 dps in a 5 man, which one was the issue? or was it all 3?

with a parser you would have that answer. That said I'm not a huge fan, as they are often used to stroke epeens, and little else, but they can be useful if used correctly.

I like to think of WoW as the Hindenburg, On these forums it always ends up in flames.
