Without delving too deeply into the details, the way the effect is currently authored it shouldn't be possible for the shambler to actually die without the slime effect being spawned. So either the fix didn't actually make it to the live servers (unlikely), the effect is lasting only an instant (also unlikely), or something else unknown is happening. Either way we'll be investigating and hopefully get a fix for you as soon as we can.
