    Default EFFECTIVE BUG REPORTS: on Forums & in game

    Welcome to the RIFT Bug Report Forum!
    Bug reports are only as useful as the information included. All too often, our QA folks receive an in-game bug reports consisting of "Quest is bugged, fix it!!1!!" - as you might imagine, this makes it pretty hard for our folks to investigate.
    Help us help you and all of our fellow players by learning what makes a great bug report!

    Reporting a Bug in this forum:
    Search these forums to see if your issue has already been reported. If it has, add your comment to the existing thread. If it hasn't, make sure you post just one bug per report. A single thread with a generic title that lists a string of bugs is not going to be easy to track down and sort through.

    Title your thread something related to the specifics of the bug you're reporting. Be as specific as possible.

    THE DETAILS THAT MAKE AN EXCELLENT, ACTIONABLE BUG REPORT:

    - Time: When did this issue occur? Please be as specific as possible. If it happens repeatedly at all times, please include that information as well.
    - Game Details: What are the name(s) of any involved quest/achievement/item? Please attempt to provide exact names as shown in-game. What location did this issue occur exactly? Please be as specific as possible. What shard did this occur on? You can type /shard to see what shard your character is on at the moment.
    - Character Details: What level is your character? What class is your character? What faction is your character? What race is your character?
    - Expected Outcome: In one sentence, what did you expect to happen? For example "I collected all the upgrade materials and clicked upgrade and the item was upgraded"
    - Observed Outcome: In one sentence, what actually happened?
    - Repro Steps: Most importantly, if possible, please include a list of specific steps we can take to reproduce this issue on our end. These steps need to be something we can reproduce on a new character, not isolated to your character only.
    - Image/Video Documentation: Often the most useful information we can get for bugs will be screenshots or video documentation of the bug occurring. These can be uploaded to 3rd party websites (youtube/imgur) and you just have to include the link to them.

    EXAMPLE OF A DETAILED BUG REPORT:
    Time: Friday, October 12th, at 3:30 PM GMT
    Context: After I completed the quest Teacher's Pet in Quicksilver College, I pressed 1 to summon my mount Ashen Budgie, which was assigned to my hot bar.
    Expected: I expected my Ashen Budgie mount to appear
    Observed: Instead, my character started jumping in place.
    Repro Steps:
    1. Go to Quicksilver College.
    2. Click on Ashen Budgie mount to summon.
    3. Watch as character jumps in place.

    What About In-Game Bug Reports?
    In-game bug reporting is still very important for RIFT. Bugs reported in-game go directly to our devs and QA testers for review (due to volume, they cannot respond to each one). Here's how to submit a bug issue right in game:

    1. Type /cs and press enter or click on the ? icon located in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
    2. Click on the Feedback/Bugs tab at the bottom of the dialog box which opens up.
    3. Select the category which most closely relates to the issue or feedback you have.
    4. Write a detailed description in the appropriate boxes (for bugs, only the "Found a Bug?" box is needed).
    5. Left-click the [SEND] button when you are finished.

    First of all thanks for taking care of bug reports section after coming back to RIFT, as you can notice I have a bit higher activity on this section compared to most players, sometimes observation of bug / issue can take more than one sentence because explaining it with one sentence can limit full detailed of what happen, I personally try to lower it to one sentence, so can we increase the limit of it? or can we use something like "- What happen:/User note:" on reports.

    Also shall we expect official bug squishing reports weekly/monthly again? I collected list of them on here from what I know as a player via patch notes, player feedbacks and ingame tests since Yaviey's latest update but as you know getting official list would be awesome and there is plenty of bugs unnoticed,replied or status of them unknown to players even before Yaviey's latest official report.

    i confirm that even by providing video and detailed info on how to reproduce stuff its still not being added into priority so were still waiting on the bench for fixes for years

    Thumbs down Carnival quests reset!

    Right before EU servers crashed on Thursday EU time, Weekly Carnival quests was reset - I had around 30 won games and after now its back to zero!!

    Default ‘Invasive Species’ Rift lures

    I bought two of these lures today Friday 1/4/2019 went to Ashora found a rift tear mentored down clicked the lure and the rift tear and lure both disappeared and nothing tried it once more and it did the same thing please fix. characters name is Drezden@ Faeblight on the NA server

    Default Constant patch

    When ever i go from the NA shards to the EU shards and vis versa the glyph always wants to down load a the last patch. This all started when Battle Pass patch started, the very first patch for Battle Pass last week. Please fix. It is annoying to have to wait for the patch to down load before i can play. Thank you.

    Default EU only maintenande (wrong)

    Archonix you took down the wrong Shards.....your note says EU only.....you took down the NA shards....the EU are up and running. WTH....I see new shards are coming on the NA some are Trial with some more pvp shards as well. Thanks for the heads up of taking down the NA but not the EU like your message says.

    Default Minion Adventures

    Hello, i've got a problem with the Summerfest Minion Adventures.
    If i send the Minions for the 4h Summerfest Adventures and logout over Night, they come back with an Artifact Adventure, not Summerfest Adventures. This happens now for about 5 times on EU Servers with my Main Character Fealoce@Brutwacht.
    Its very sad to loose so many Aventurin for the wrong Adventures and wrong Reward, because i want to get the Reward of the Summerfest Adventures to get a DPS and Tank Seal and need 1 more Bracelet.

    Default Kingsward Puzzle Bug

    Hi,
    Seems to be a bug in this puzzle. Nothing happens when I click on the large Queen chess piece that is supposed to port me to the puzzle. Located at way point 4815 8673.
    I've tried twice this week in order to complete the Battle Pass quest.
    I'm on the NA server, Deepwood shard.
    Please fix it or remove it from the Battle Pass quests.

    Default Dread Obsidian Ki Rin

    Purchased the Dread Ki Rin on Aug. 15th, before it was discovered that the wrong mount was delivered and the store stopped the sales. On the 28th or 29th of Sept., I requested help with the problem and Claire replied, the wrong mount was removed and a Dread placed in my inventory. The mount was collected and was a single mount for one character. I went back to Claire and told her the purchase was a whole acct mount, all characters. A reply to that request arrived yesterday in my inventory, it indicates an acct wide mount, but, trying to collect only gets a notification that "the object is temporarily disabled". Any assistance with this will be appreciated very much. Thank you. Character is NA, Deepwood

    Default Rift Crashes every time I try to play Since 11 Oct 2019

    Hello,
    Rift seems to be crashing every time I try to play since 11 October.
    It seems to crash my whole pc and cause a blue screen of death.
    It seems to happen especially fast when I try to navigate the Minions screen.
    But also when doing pretty much anything else.

    Hello there, you'll have better luck starting a new thread on "Bug Reports" forum than continuing on here. Just wanted to let you know, this is a really old thread.

    I thought this was the bug report page myself, it says so. I'm with you Anina. Can't log into game. Send report and restart doesn't work. Send report and close doesn't work. Log out then get blue screen. What is Glyph doing to our computers?
    I've contacted tech support,(waiting on reply) done all the tricks suggested, SSDD.
    What to do?
