True Romance in Telara – Share your story and we’ll personally plan your in-game day!

We first met in a game that really isnt a game called Second Life(SL). I happened to run into her while visiting one of my favorite places and discovered that not only did we have SL in common we also both played an in game HUD game as well. This gave us something in common to start talking about and helping each other with occasionally. Very quickly we started spending most of our online time together. After a couple of months we managed to arrange for me to go visit her. During that visit we realized that we were really meant to be together and when it was time for me to return home she came with me. Since then not only are we together doing real world stuff, but I introduced her to other online games, starting with World of Warcraft and then when Rift went to Beta testing we went into it together. After Beta testing we continued our exploits in WoW, eventually we returned to Rift together. Now whenever we can we are together on Rift, exploring, questing, and battling the elements. We both enjoy spending as much time together as we can both inside our games and out in the real world.

Our story began 12 years ago, its hard to believe it was that long ago, we were both in highschool. We went to the same highschool, but had never met since the highschool was so large and he was a year younger then I. FFXI came out soon after graduating, it was my first MMO experience, and it was great. The game was very tough to master and it forced people to play in groups constantly, almost nothing was solo-able. Because of this game I forged great friendships, and a relationship with my current husband. We played this game for years, and it helped us both through tough times in our lives, we started at just friend, and became closer as the years went by. We both liked each other, but where afraid to say it, until one day we had the courage.

We started dating playing FFXI, and through the years we have tried out many other MMOs, some of them were loads of fun, and some of them were duds, but the important thing was that we played them together. Over the years we have played Lineage 2, Ragnarok Online, City of Heros/Villans, Champions Online, World of Warcraft, and a bunch of free to play ones. Together we forged a loving relationship, which lead to marrage, and even after this many years we love each other as strong as ever. And play games together (both online and not) as our form of entertainment. Today we now play Rift, Starcraft 2, League of Legends, and whatever else comes our way, we conquer worlds together, create legends, and defeat all foes who are foolish enough to stand in our paths. ;)

Seven years ago a lonely hunter was levelling in WOW and trying to make a buck selling leather in the AH. A tell came through, got any more leather at that price? A rogue of all things, spit on them! She wanted a mount though, so the bargain was struck and then another and another. A friendship formed, guld invites went up and it began. They killed bosses, farmed everything, made guilds and broke guilds.He moved from 3 hours away just to be closer. When the time came to move again he quit his job and moved along. Modesix and Corisa, always together in game and in irl. Not married, cause she is married already, but he is much a part of her family as her husband and children. If you see one online, look around the other is never very far away.

The best friend I have ever had, no secrets have been kept, no story is untold, the first person I turn to whether the news is good or bad. The only person with whom I can be myself and not have to worry about whether my foot is at the end of my leg or in my mouth. I would be lost without him.

Long ago, before the mountains of Iron Pine rose from the sourcestone and the Mathosians built their kingdom, there was another world. Much like Telara, it had elves and dwarves, ghosts and goblins, and a great many other dangerous things. One of these things was a wizard named Ilmoran. Where Ilmoran walked, flickering flames followed. When Ilmoran waved his staff, fire and destruction came to his call. They also came when he didn't call. This made him unpopular, because parties didn't like accident-prone mages who blew themselves up.

One day, while Ilmoran was traveling quite alone, neither friend nor foe willing to bother him, he found a sleeping girl in the forest. Is this the part where the handsome prince kisses the sleeping beauty? Perhaps not: although Ilmoran was handsome, he wasn't a prince. And he might accidentally get soot stains on her majestic white robes. Besides, she had a rather large hammer. He didn't need any more bruises.

"Ahem," Ilmoran said instead.

The sleeping girl awoke. "Yes?" she asked.

"Why are you asleep in a dangerous forest?"

"Oh," she replied. "I got invited to a party."

"Sounds exciting. Have too much to drink?"

"The opposite, actually," she replied. "The knight shouted at creatures and the archers shot at them. It was boring."

"You hate healing?" Ilmoran asked.

"They never needed healing. Booo-ring. One of them actually asked me to heal a paper cut.”

"I usually need healing," Ilmoran mentioned.

And so the wizard and the healer went adventuring together. They killed a great many things together, and died a great many times together, for they were quite reckless. They laughed as they killed, and laughed as they died, and soon they realized something: more than Ilmoran loved exploding things, and more than Arynite loved healing, they loved each other.

My wife and I first met when I was in the navy and home on leave. We dated a bit and I went back out to Conneticut. We kept in touch by phone at first but that got expensive quickly. When I flew her out to visit me (the same trip where I proposed to her) I introduced her to Everquest.

She had been a gamer already for some time, but only single player stuff like Morrowind and Bauldur's Gate and the like. When she went back home to San Diego we still talked on the phone, but not nearly as much as we were together in game. Not only did it provide us with a cheaper way to stay in contact but it also allowed us to do things together even though we were a country apart.

Later after we were married and I had been transfered to San Diego we continued to play together. And when I was deployed I would take my laptop. We played together while I was in Singapore and she was still back home. I have since left the service, but we still play together. So far we have had a Lewin and a Serianna in EQ, EQ2, DDO, and now Rift, and if they aren't always still our mains, we do still always play together.

My husband and I met in PWE - we then moved to a private PW server Vendetta - there we grew from simple gaming partners into something a whole lot more. There is where our adventure began. As we gamed and wandered through a multitude of worlds (games) we learned more and more about one another - we began talking on ventrilo while gaming and soon morphed into a dynamic gaming duo. Our love grew and blossomed in the lands of Telara where we finally admitted our love and deepening feelings for one another.
Through gaming we were able to push all preconceived notions away and learn each others inner self. As our gaming persona's fell away our hearts were bound together. Now our real lives have exploded into a world of happiness and bliss, all thanks to a game. In a time when neither thought we would ever find love again, there it was simply waiting for us.
Thank you to all of the gaming Gods who have watched over us in a journey that bound our hearts and lives in infinite happiness.

Moreso than anything else, I will always remember Rift because of the wonderful woman I met here, my love Raeanne. The guild I am in frequents expert dungeons, and it was in one of these that fate saw fit to introduce us. From the first time we met I knew there was something more about her, and the time since has done nothing to sway my opinion. In the weeks that followed we spent a large portion of our time together, and within a month we told each other how we felt and began dating. Our dates consisted of acheivement hunting, chronicles, dungeons and clearing the content on Ember Isle. We spent the majority of our free time together over the following months, and I have come to realize that she is the one for me.

Online gaming and Rift in particular gave me the opportunity to meet a woman that the real world distance between us never would have. The unique dynamic of our relationship has made us very close, since we talk and share with each other on a constant basis. At the time of the event we will have been dating for four months, and I cannot imagine a day without her. I am eternally thankful for the random series of events that led to our first meeting, and to Trion for making a game that drew our attention and made our relationship possible in the first place. I can think of nothing more fitting for us that to have our characters marry on Valentine's day in the place where we first met.

Me and my love had both met online on a dating website. We slowly got to know each other and eventually, I managed to convince him to get back into the MMO scene because I was starting to move back towards playing online games again. I've pushed him towards playing Rift, as I enjoy just playing games with him whenever he'll actually humor me. The first day we met face to face, we stayed in a hotel room together and we raided the first night we were together on WoW. We laugh about how nerdy we are, because we consider spending time with each other in-game as our "dates." We now live together and continue to play MMOs together, as that is the main way we spend our time together. Gaming is one of our favorite things to do and as such, plays a big part in our relationship.

Richard Aden and Morrigue Rayne, two fledgling heroes, two clashing moralities. They say opposites attract, and this was true for the Paladin and Assassin. Charged with keeping the Assassin's murderous streak in check while she was in the pay of a local militia, fighting a bitter struggle with a murderous enemy, Richard and Morrigue came to blows a few times but always stopped short of a true fight. The truth was, whenever they were alone, deep beneath the earth or within a dark forest hunting, they would steal a forbidden kiss.
10 years on and things are not so simple any more. Fighting over an insignificant island is long behind them, and they travel the Planes together, restoring balance to the Multiverse by walking quietly among the heroes of each realm, lending their Steel to worthy causes. They have travelled Faerun, Azeroth, Tyria and more, and now their eternal charge brings them to the unstable land of Telara, assisting The Vigil in its task to thwart the nefarious efforts of the Bloodstorm.

Richard and Morrigue are bound to each other by blood shed together and by a love which transcends planes of existence. Even still, there is little time in the life of an eternal servant of greater forces to stop and enjoy the company of your beloved. A shared glimpse across a battlefield, a stolen kiss before Morrigue disappears into the darkness, scouting ahead. Even still, the forces of the Bloodstorm will know to stay their hand for but a moment, as all across the Multiverse there is a moment of reprieve once a year, on the day the Prime Material Plane calls February 14th. Richard and Morrigue shall celebrate this day together, eternally professing their love, a true elemental force.

Richardaden and Morrigu - Icewatch EU

I met Tigersin, my husband in a game called RF Online back when it was run by Codemasters. We both played Accretians, we hit it off and played together for about six months. Then he flew 800 miles from Iowa to North Carolina. When I first saw him at the air port I ran and and jumped on him, and almost knocked him over. We had a wonderful two weeks together but he had to return to Iowa. Once i got my tax returns i took the whole 500.00 dollars i got and bought a ticket up to Iowa. I did have a return ticket but never used it. A couple months later we found out we were having my son, so we moved up our plans to get married and we tied the knot. Since then we had our daughter, and its now 4 years we have been together and gaming together.

Once upon a time there was a girl who knew nothing of other worlds, one who existed solely within the confines of the mundane, who was embarking on a grand adventure of her own. Embrace was being forced to leave her home and move far, far away, to where her lover could not venture. Upon learning of her upcoming departure, the rogue Daluvas feared for the loss of her and explained that although they would be apart, he knew of a world where they could spend their days and nights together, even across the miles. So, though she feared that such a world would consume her, Embrace ventured upon the white frost of a distant land and found a world full of wonder and adventure where she could live a life with her lover with no distance between them!

Years came and went and Daluvas & Embrace had a series of unfortunate events leading to their separation, even across the miles, over and over. Yet their love never faltered, never waned, and still they remained apart. Until fate intervened. One day our heroine chanced upon a new world, Telara, that she favored above all others. There she found a community that worked together on a daily basis to fight back the tides of Evil that threatened their world over and over again, only to be beaten by the sheer power of the Telarans. She found many fellow adventurers, some who quickly became lifelong friends and others who would pass through her life but briefly yet would leave an imprint on her heart nevertheless. But, above all else, she found her dearest love once again.

While running off into the forests on another grand adventure, out of the corner of her eye she saw a rogue upon his shining steed, heading in the other direction. 'Could it be?' she wondered. So she turned her own mount to follow him - and lo and behold, it was in truth, her one and only love, Daluvas. With a joyful reunion they began to quest together again, exploring this grand new world where they had found each other. They climbed mountains, searched for treasure, defeated deadly foes together and even began to see each other in their mundane world again.

And as the years have passed their love has grown like never before and Daluvas & Embrace are stronger than they had ever been, as friends, as lovers and as a fearsome force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Then, upon a day of thanks, Daluvas asked our heroine to be his wife and of course Embrace was overjoyed and quickly responded yes. However, even after all this time, though it pains them both, they have not the means to marry and have been patiently awaiting a time when everything falls together and they can officiate their union and be husband and wife. And then Embrace came upon a letter she received, promising a beautiful wedding in Telara on Valentine's Day and she was overjoyed! Where better to be married first than the land upon which she had found her true love again? So, now Embrace & her beloved Daluvas wait, as patiently as they can, to find out if her request will be granted and their love be shouted over the land they call home.

I had played EQ1 for many years and had migrated to EQ2. With my main character, Twisting Sadistic`Lullabies, a rather stand-offish Dirge, I ventured to join a guild and there I ran across a male character, Dameonn Kel the cleric, whom all of the ladies seemed to be trying to claim as their own. His rather laid back and shy demure pressed me to try to aide in getting him out of the rather sticky situation he had fallen into.
As time wore on we played more and more together and our characters became rather inseparable. As well as in real life when I couldn't seem to wait until we could log on and play. Life hit me with some tough blows in 2009, when I was diagnosed with cancer and needed a major operation. At that time I jokingly asked Dameonn if he would come and spend some time with me before the surgery. After a bit it was no longer a joke and low-and-behold we met in the city I was to have my surgery and spent the three days before it together. And it was wonderful!!
From that time on we have spent approximately every five to six weeks together. The hardest part of all if it is that we live 1200 miles apart! I miss him every single day yet my love has done nothing but grow. I would not change him or our love for the world. Only to perhaps, some day, be closer together.
I have recently been having tests for more cancer they believe they have found so every moment I share with him, in game or in real life, is a treasure!
So thank you to EQ2, those two wonderful characters we enjoyed, and now to Rift and our characters and time we share here.

It's a small world afterall....
I was in highschool when I met the love of my life (little did I know that at the time) during summer break in 1997. I was just leaving the school after having senior pictures taken when I seen the most attractive guy walking up the sidewalk, with these gorgeous green eyes, I was breathe taken and told myself I was going to date him. (And I did!) We took photography classes together and met for coffee and started dating my junior year (his senior) and although it didn't last for long, I had a blast. (he broke up w/ me because my parents being "super religious" made him recite bible versus if he wanted to take me anywhere, was just too much for a guy who lived on his own) He dated my best friend after me... hmmm.

A couple years went by and I returned home after college not looking for a relationship and a car drives by me as I was walking down the road, turns around and stops in front of me...I was a little startled to say the least...as this guy rolls down the window, I realized who it was, although he didn't recognize me I looked totally different. He gave me his phone number and asked for mine and kept calling me until I finally agreed to go to dinner with him.
We dated for a while and one night as we sat looking up the stars (how cliche is that) and we had a heart to heart. We both realized how we felt for each other, being different from anything we had ever felt before, and what we felt was so strong like we had been together for so long, even though we hadn't...I knew, I just knew with every fiber of my being we were soul mates, we were meant to be together and so we got married in October of 2000.

Him not being very computer saavy when we got married (I'm the geek) taught him all about computers and how to use them. Although I never played pc games, I was more into photography and graphic arts. He played various games by himself and started to get heavy into CoD4, I couldn't take it anymore, I took over the pc and started shooting it up...lol (I thought if ya can't beat 'em join 'em) A week later we built myself a pc and we have been playing together side by side ever since. Our families don't understand our passion for gaming, but we don't care what they think...lol. We have a blast together, and look forward to every chance we get to play together especially after the kids are in bed. We love Rift, what an awesome game, maybe we love rift too much (lots of nights we stay up too long and miss work...oops) and can't wait to get married in game as well!

I met my boyfriend I WOW on my blood elf paladin. We both just had a break with another partner, we talked and he helped me leveling, he was also a handsome blood elf paladin of level 70. But because of the distance, we live 372 miles of each other, it was a bit difficult to be a couple, but we managed. We played together and had really fun moments with each other. We were declared king and queen of the blood elves by our friends. But then there were some problems in our relationship and we broke up. But we never could forget each other.

And so, more than a half year later, we tried again to build a relationship and it worked really well. I’m still at school so we can’t see each other that frequently, but during vacations I take the train for a whole day and I stay with him during those vacations, it really are the most beautiful moments in my life. And now, in rift, we play together all the time. We really are very happy and I love him so much. I want to spend the rest of my live with him. So now, after 2 and a half year together we will marry each other now in rift, and I really want to make it something special for him because I love him so much. And later we will be together in real life as well, and that is when my true life will begin by his side.

In the doom and gloom of a rat infested sewer a young maiden and her father were talking with others while fighter practice was going on nearby. A young man strolls up and the maiden's father introduce them. The young man smiles at the girl and asks "What is a pretty girl like you doing in a nasty sewer like this?" and the rest, as the say, is history.

In 1996, we met in NeverWinter Nights while it was still on AoL. In 1998, I moved from Chicago, IL to Lancaster, PA and we moved in together. In 2001, we were married. We have played many a mmorpg throughout the years, including The Realm (where we were married under the names Seretta and Loco), EQ1, EQ2, WoW, just to name a few, and finally Rift.

We were blessed with a beautiful daughter in 2002 whom we named Seretta after my character's name when we were married online in The Realm. Currently, we are in the process of moving and since November 2011 until, I don't know when, we are 500 miles apart in different states. We use Rift to talk to each other and spend time while we are apart. I would love to have a wedding in Rift to commemorate our years of gaming together for the last 16 years.
