True Romance in Telara – Share your story and we’ll personally plan your in-game day!

My wife and I actually met through Yahoo! Personals way back in 2000. We met in person at a restaurant that was halfway between our houses and we hit it off. Shortly thereafter she introduced me to EverQuest and we played together almost every night. It was a fantastic way to indulge our creative sides and it gave us a more active way to chat with each other when we couldn't be together. It also allowed us to be a bit freer with our discussions and made talking a lot easier for both of us, since we're both introverts. Since we lived so far away from each other for a time, it also allowed us to connect from a distance and keep in touch. We were able to catch up on the other person's day while slaying ferocious beasts and getting awesome loot. It added a special layer to our courtship and gave us the opportunity to get to know each other better over a distance.

Eventually she moved just down the street from me and transferred to a college that was closer to me. However, we still played the game almost every night, even though we saw each other almost every day. Once we moved in together, we kept our computer next to each other so that we could see what the other person was doing and we could communicate out loud. The added communication helped us to make a super team, not only in the game, but also in real life. I think that online games have given us better communication and helped tremendously in our early relationship when we were far apart. To this day we still play online games, but due to space restraints we can't sit next to each other anymore. However, we still make an awesome team in-game and in life. :heart:

I met my current wife to be just over 5 years ago. I actually met her father while I was playing Final Fantasy 11. I was a case where I was new to the game and kept dying and he was a mage and was able to bring me back to life. A few days later his daughter was on and she taught me how to fish in that game and we got to chatting and gaming. We were lucky to find out we lived two hours away (though I live in Canada and her in the USA). Fast forward to now and we are knee deep in real wedding plans with May 18th will be our actual wedding.

Amazing what games can bring to ones life.

I am writing this as I look out the window to a whole new world to me. The snow falls perfectly on the ground this morning, as the Swedish scurry off to work and school. I take a sip of my coffee as I start to recall just how I got here. Born and raised in a perfect cookie cutter suburban neighbourhood in Canada, I never thought my heart would take me to Sweden.

We met and developed our friendship in Another Thing We Do Not Speak Of, But With Wings & Pretty Korean Graphics. He a handsome Ranger, and I a beautiful Spiritmaster. We would talk on voice comm for hours, as we adventured through the worlds of fantasy. Than a guildie of ours pointed out how compatible we were, and we started looking at our relationship a bit more seriously. Nervously I invited my love to fly to Canada and spend Christmas with me. And so my real life fairy tale began. I was absolutely thrilled that I finally found someone who shares the same virtues, morales and interests.

We started playing Rift in beta, and both enjoyed the game so much we capped the level cap as soon as it was raised each weekend. Long distance relationships are hard, so we really cherrished the time we had to do a few quests or raid online. Rift was our/is our couples time. (Thank you Trion for not restricting the game to North Americans not being able to play with Europeans. You have helped unite many players and guilds).

Soon after I decided to take the big step and move to Sweden. A place with a whole new language and new way of going about things. The weather and Smarties candy in stores are about the only two things familiar. But I do like it here. We found a cute apartment and hung framed posters of our favourite games and anime. His gaming rig is sitting next to my brand spakin' new one... well isn't that cute?

I have since applied to school here to get my masters (Oh it's great they have programs in English, my Swedish is still terrible). I have also applied and recived a Residence Card (Grats to me! I was nervous waiting for it, I'm glad I got it). So all the minor/major inconvineinces of an international love, are working themselves out.

We plan to get married! But for now all this moving around, and both of us still in school, our economy isn't looking too good. This is why we would very much enjoy winning an in-game wedding! :)

In 2004 I joined one of the top 3 guilds on the server.
The very first night of me being in the guild a shaman asked for tanking help. As a paladin one does not refuse the cry for help, and I offered Wudora my assistance by giving her the logins to my account. From her point of view, she was stunned by my generosity. Especially since I'm "trouble" and I was completely new to the guild.

We were both very nervous, but when we took each others hands, sneakily under the table :) we knew it was right. For many years we have lived a long distance relationship, her in Sweden, me in Germany.
Always wishing to be with each other, but never having the means to do so for real, our relationship finally ascended to the next level by her moving in with me in Germany.

We are the dream team - In Telara, together we are an unstoppable force of a healer and a tank, on Earth, in Real Life, we are an equally unstoppable dream team. That has been our feeling since the beginning, reinforced by the many adventures and obstacles we have overcome.

Me and my Fiancée met in September 2007 online. I had recently come out of a relationship and was determined that "Romance was dead". Tori, however had other idea's, we met on an internet chat site, she saw my picture and her words where. "I want him!", then set out to put the record straight on romance. Since that day, we have just grown stronger and stronger together. As a couple we have grown to love each other more and more, but we have also grown to love games together more and more. Everything from Console games, to pc games and the final evolutionary step of a paid MMORPG. (After painstakingly dragging her away from Sims!!!)

I proposed after one year of being together, November 24th 2008. Because I just knew she was 'the one'. Though I couldn't (and still can't) afford a real wedding, I wanted to cement in her mind what she meant to me and what she still does. Not long after, we moved in together and currently play all manner of games. Our most played, being Rift, a game we haven't been able to put down since February last year!

Unfortunately, Tori has a heart condition, making 'normal' activities much harder. So Rift gives us a unique opportunity to 'lose ourselves' together, without leaving the house. It allows us to visit foreign places, see exotic wildlife and make new friends! Slaying dragons is something we would never dreamed of doing together! (Nor would I ever have dreamed to be lucky enough to find a girl to join me in this venture!).

My wife and I both were pulled into online gaming by other people, her by her husband at the time and me my brother. We had both been married for about 19 years and were looking for an escape. World of Warcraft gave that to us. We ended up in the same guild and had known each other for about two years before each of us noticing that we were always online together working on the same quests etc.

I would always hide out on my auction alt and wait for her to log in, I would sign up for every raid she was in just to hear her voice, I fell asleep dreaming of her every night. We had unknowingly the same crush on each other but were trapped in our marriages and saw no way out because we both had kids and were 600 miles apart. So we silently went about our business of killing monsters and crying ourselves to sleep.

On Valentine’s Day 2007 I was helping her with some quests and asked why she wasn't doing anything with her husband and she made some excuse and sounded sad in vent. I brought her a chocolate cake and flowers in WoW and she said that was the first time anybody ever gave her anything on Valentine’s Day. The sadness in her voice was killing me. I sent her an email and gave her my cell number and said anytime she wanted to talk I was available. She sent me back a reply that was pretty much the dreaded “you are a great friend” response. I was crushed I was certain there was something there, I had to reach out and take a chance and just put it out there. We talked on the phone that Sunday for 4 hours and it was evident the feelings we both had.

Long story short we have been married since July 2008 and have all of our kids living with us and all of us are happy and enjoying life and playing Rift, we will always have a spot in our hearts for WoW but the important thing is online gaming can be a place to met your true love, we are an anomaly a one in a million chance but you will never know if you don’t just put it out there.

No one ever expects to find love in hell. However that is exactly what happened to me and the love of my life. We met playing an MMO based around Hell. We were both in the same gaming clan and I decided to buy and try this Diabolical MMO. We began talking via instant messenger for a year, then one day she asked me out, not too long after that we met up in person and have been in a great relationship ever since. 9 years now as of today actually.

Thanks to MMO games such as Rift, we were able to maintain our relationship over the years even when we were apart due to school and such. Without games I would have never found a girl who matches me so well. I would never have found what I consider true love.

Surely everyone here has heard of the World of Warcraft. Years ago, I was a main raid tank, and the target of hitting on for both the mobs and the men of my raids. One of the dps in my guild eventually caught my eye, a wonderful tauren shaman. After nearly a year of cautious courting, questing and raiding. We finally popped the question to one another "What's your real name, and where do you live?"

After that it was only a matter of time until we met. Our love started slowly, and was rather unexpected. But once we both saw it for what is was there was hardly any stopping it. In less than a year after we met I was swept away from sunny San Diego to the arctic beauty of Canada. Through the many trials we now face of immigration, job security, and the wear and tear of daily life, gaming has always been our solace. From the slaughter of orcs and zombies, to the saving of elves, we will prevail.

Not more than a few months past we wed, something simple and just for us. As our path continues, we turn to Rift and shall see what wonders it holds for our new union. A second wedding perhaps? In a domain so much like the one in which we first met? Wouldn't that be a grand beginning, and perhaps the gorgeous wedding we denied ourselves in the material world.

And though I may no longer be his big bear tank, I will always be his honey bear.

Back in 2008 July, I met my wife online. I was currently a disabled vet recently back from my 2nd tour from Iraq. I have been through several wives being in the army and all and them not understand how much I got deployed. Well all in all I was online looking at dating sites, because I was in a wheelchair and was scared to show women who I truly was. I met her on an online dating site and we have been together since.

Since I am a disabled vet there isnt a lot I can do since my mobility is limited. Online gaming is one of the things I am good at. That and I am believed to be a good guild leader "Paranormal on Briarcliff", and people hold alot of respect for me, as does my wife. I got her into playing when I showed her this lovely game of rift, we raid together, we do zone events together and so much more. Although in most raids she isnt my healer, which would be ideal since I am a tank, but she is my true heart and love of my life for dealing with my PTSD and my extreme attitude in game and in real life. We ask that you consider us for the marriage as it would be greatly appreciated.

The Story of Feore and Fisian

This tale begins with adversity, when two people from different worlds met each other in an online universe called World of Warcraft. The evening of January 9th, 2009 began like any other with those two people trying to find a distraction from their mundane lives. A dungeon was in order, and so began Feore's quest to find some skillful people with whom to do a dungeon. She searched far and wide in trade chat and stubbled upon a very lonely warrior named Fisian. He replied to her calls for extra support in her quest, and soon joined up with the team and successfully completed the dungeon. Feore's heart was fluttering as she wondered about the mysterious warrior, who's obvious talents and strengths were witnessed in his playing style.


Soon the two began talking, and they became inseparable. They adventured together as friends for 2 long years, everyday the same but nonetheless just as exciting as the very first time. Things became romantic and Fisian and Feore's heart grew together with the time they had spent together. They could no longer be apart. On the 9th of April, 2011 Feore hopped on a plane to Fisian's destination. Fisian lived in The Netherlands, and Feore lived in the United States. Much adversity and obstacles littered their path, but none was stronger than their love for each other.


On Febuary 14th, 2012, they will declare their love for all the world of Telara to witness and share, for each other and for the games that brought them closer together. Fisian and Feore currently live together in harmony and happiness, knowing that regardless of the obstacles that life can throw their way, there is always adventure and fun just around the corner as they continue to explore the online gaming community in Trion's Rift.

I met my girlfriend several years ago in the real world. She loved gaming as much as me, but was afraid of the online gaming world. We played several two player games on PS2 and thrived adventuring together. She enjoyed the thrill of the hunt but these games always had an ending. A sense of loss was felt as we both finished a game , to never play our beloved characters again.

Then one day a friend offered us free beta passes to try out Rift. She was timid at first, afraid to talk to the many adventurers like herself roaming Telara. Together as a team we set out, slaying monsters, saving NPCs, like Scotty, that seemed so intertwined in our fantasy world that they took on a life of their own. We would ride the trails of Silverwood and Gloamwood, taking Screenshots as if we were on an actual vacation. She started to break out of her shell, helping lower toons as much as she could during invasions.

The sparkly artifacts and companions she could summon brought so much excitement to her that she fell in love with the MMO world of Telara. This gave us both a place where our avatars, in a realm far from earth, could dwell and forget about the pains of reality for awhile. Bills could be paid by earning plat, problems solved by the blast of her fireball or swing of my sword.

Our time in Telara has strengthened our relationship, creating bonds that you normally only read about in fantasy books. We journey as a team, as friends and more importantly as a couple. The beautiful vistas and exotic locales creating a backdrop for a romantic getaway anytime we choose. Side by side in the game, we have flourished, and it has shown us we can do the same in the real world also.

Domenic (Enforcer@Briarcliff) and I (Nacerous@Briarcliff) first met in the imaginary sparkley world online. I was the sweet innocent (yes innocent, stop laughing) cleric running around healing people and he was the rogue that everyone loved to hate. If you are on briarcliff you may have seen his macro taunts with his mage. It wasn't long before I became bait and he was killing my would-be attackers. We were up all night, everynight enjoying our favourite hobby together. Soon came the day when we decided to meet up in the real world and I found myself on a plane to Toronto. Less than four months later my cat and I were living with him.

Rift wasn't the game we met in, but it is the game we have spent the most time together in. Not long after we met we started Rift beta together and our relationship has grown as fast as our leveling. I first knew it was love when he came home from a Saturday shift at work to find me cleaing the house and said "Why are you cleaning?? You could be R6 by now!!"

Being a gamer is just like having any other hobby. It's more fun if you are doing it with the people you care about. Rift has been a great experiance for us with never a dull moment. Dom and I met in an online game, and I can say that with no shame knowing we met doing something we both love to do. At the end of a hard day there is nothing I'd rather do than sit at my computer beside my man and blow up some guardians together :) (Sorry Guardians)

Every couple has a thing, and Rift is our thing. We do everything ingame together, and would love to be chosen for this contest so we can for a moment share our cheesy happiness together with everyone before we get back to some pvp or some more attemps HK.

4 years ago, I made a tentative venture into my first mmorpg. Unsure of myself and new to gaming, I made friends and eventually found my way into a wonderful guild. I was told 'Don't bother the guild master, he doesn't talk much.' So, I didn't. Until one fateful evening, when I found myself alone on a bench with him. To my surprise, he started a conversation, and we talked for hours.

Those talks continued over days, then months, as we discovered how much we had in common. We were separated by over 1000 miles, but spent every available moment possible together in the game. Finally, he asked if he could call me. I was nervous and elated...our talks lasted for hours. Eventually, he bought me a train ticket to come meet him, and we saw each other for the very first time. Before that, we had not even seen pictures of each other.

I went home after a wonderful week, and the very next weekend, he drove the 1000 miles to pack my things and move me back home with him. We have been gaming together ever since, and with Rift since day one. We have a wonderful guild on Faeblight named after his guild in our original game, and look forward to sharing our happiness with our shard family and friends.

I was a young bard of lvl 20, singing hacking and hewing my way thru to the basement in High Hold Keep for a couple weeks. One day I soloed my way thru the first 2 areas in the keep to the basement. There was another bard there already soloing the basement. He was lvl 17 and his name was Shup. Hmmmm another bard... this could be interesting. So I send this Shup a tell and ask if I may join him in slaying the foul goblin beasts in the basement and that I would be very fair with the sharing of the uber phat lutes. Shups immediate reply was, "Leave me alone, I am married and have two children." so I reply, "Perfect- I am engaged and also have two children... what kind of gear do you have?". I was higher lvl and was hoping to make this one drool over the +3 dex rings I had recently acquired. So we fought, side by side, valiently that day complementing our fights in various songs that we twisted. We grouped here and there after that but would mostly keep in contact thru tells, excitedly relaying our stories of recent conquests and of uber phat lutes. Shup was a submariner for the US Navy at the time and would be gone for months at a time and then return to game. One day he came back to game a very lowly bard as his wife had left him for another man and had taken their chiildren away to another state while he was away on patrol. We (our characters) sat on either end of EQ continents and talked as freinds would about how deeply this had affected him. Shup stopped playing EQ a couple months after that. We kept in touch through emails for about five years after that. I would send him emails during the holidays as I didn't want him to be alone with no- love away from the world. One fateful day, my ex-fiancee left me for an iksar necromancer. I turned to the one person whom I knew would understand my pain, my friend and fellow bard, the Shup. We talked for months and fell in love. One day he asked me to be his girl on the phone. We hadn't even met yet in RL (which people loved to remind us of all the time lol ) I lived in Hawaii at the time and he lived in Georgia. Several months later he came to visit me in Hawaii and we met for the first time. It was instant nervous amazing -official love. Four months later I moved to Guam with him. We dated for two years before we had the Chaps marry us. We returned to Everquest to continue where we left off... slaying the beasts.... looting and to plunder our lives away... We were Swanger and Mufins SwiftLikeBandaid of Mith Marr, as in EQ one could create surnames, so we made ours the same so we would be known as a couple. Sine then we have slain many dragons in WOW, Kung Fu'D with the best in 9-Dragons and clipped many Elyos wings in Aion. Today, we roam the many kingdoms of Telara, as Xsiao and Blowpop- teaching Guardians how to beg for mercy and eating Skarn Steaks at least twice a week..../evil grin. But no matter where our many journeys and adventures will take us... I found my Uber Phat Lutes in the basement that day 11 years ago... My Shup!!!
