We didn't use an Archon or Tactician, we used a BM instead since it covers both the Offensive Buffs and Defensive CDs, so that's an option.

Can someone explain why I cant edit my post anymore?
The button is there but if I wanna save my changes I get the following error:

On the other hand other posts like the PBB Guide I can edit.
Same happens on the German forum.

Perhaps being picky here, but I don't see the point in a 61 Tact.

You do not need to see the point in it... my guild does and I would not consider it beeing picky.
Maybe I'm a bit picky here but I dont see the point of disagreeing without giving an alternative or the way you setup your raid.

One of the reason why we have a tac is because of Ablative Coil - we do not carry a BM with us so we needed something for one of platforms. There is certainly a different setup possible but we found this one working the best for us and I'm sharing here our way of doing the encounter.

There are a lot of different lineups that work for Volan and different ways to handle mechanics (leg DPS distribution, Spineshatter assignments, P2 platform order, Extinction group setups), but there are 2 moments in the fight with particularly high raid damage that you need to be ready for:

    1. The first Outbreak in Phase 1, which is followed by Aftershock x3
Timing on cleanses is key here. You NEVER want to cleanse when his stomp hits the ground, since the 13k initial hit from Aftershock + 17k from Outbreak can cause a lot of deaths. The problem is that Volan is going to stomp 3 times.

You should be able to get 3 cleanses done (maybe even 4) before the first stomp but play it safe and don't cleanse too close to the stomp. After the first stomp hits the ground, if you're running 2 Puris or a Puri+Paladin have them both pop Flame of Life and/or Life's Rapture. This will allow you to quickly cleanse 3-4 more Outbreaks before the second stomp. If there are any remaining, you can cleanse the last one in between the second and third stomps.

I also recommmend that the cleanses are NOT done by a raid healer (Chloro or Warden) - have a Purifier, Defiler, Archon or Cleric Tank do it. That way the raid healers are using all their GCDs for healing.

    2. The first Extinction in Phase 2
Extermination Missiles don't really do a lot of damage on their own, but the first volley in Phase 2 is bookended by Halo of Ruin. The raid will get hit by the following:
    Halo expansion -> Halo contraction -> Missile 1 -> Missile 2 -> Halo expansion -> Halo contraction

In particular, the second Missile and the second Halo expansion will hit VERY close together and depending on player position can double-tap some players. There are multiple tools for handling this and the raid should use whatever they can:
    - Puri can use Gathering of Flames and/or Flame of Life
    - Bard can use Verse of Occlusion (will only cover their platform though)
    - Paladin can use Life's Rapture
    - Beastmaster can use Command to Recover and Command to Stand Ground BEFORE splitting for Extinction (the buffs last 20s and should cover the sequence)
    - Tactician can use Ablative Coil (will only cover their platform though)

Players that stand in the middle of their platform and players standing at the back are most likely to get double-tapped and these players should either be durable (Tanks, Bard, Archon w/ 2 points in Wellspring), or have an extreme damage reduction cooldown (Nightblade or Warlock), or be shielded by a Purifier prior to the double-tap.
Garbageday - Cleric Tank / Herder of Cats / Doer of Things for -Vendetta- (Greybriar)

Added videos of the frist two bosses in IG, even if they do not have anything to do with this Volan guide - didn't want to open a new post.

Volan will follow after the next ID reset.
