    Default Quick Reaver Guide

This is for the new update for Reaver.
This will be my first time creating a guide for Warriors and I hope this guide show you how to play Reaver.
Though warning mistakes could be present.

    Best Spec:
    Reaver
    61 Reaver, 8 Tempest, 7 Paragon

    Alternatives Spec:
    61 Reaver, 11 Paragon, 4 Champion - Non Tempest

    Masteries:
    Level 61 - Resonating Strikes
    Level 62 - Soul Regeneration
Level 63 - Gladiator Combat Training
    Level 64 - Precision Strikes
    Level 65 - Power Manipulation

    Buffs:
    Pestilence
    Binding of Affliction
    Way of the River
    Enhanced Conductivity
    Empower

    Rotation:
Keep Soul Sickness, Necrotic Wounds, Flesh Rot and Dire Corruption active on you target.
You can do this by using Shadow of Dread on cooldown.

You also want to have Fester active on the target, which increases damage taken by 15%.
You apply Fester with Infestation or Explosive Infestation.

While you have your Dots and Fester active use Viral Stream and keep Viral Stream on cooldown.

When you build 3 Attack Points consume them with Dire Blow.

    Repetitive Block
Explosive Infestation > Shadow of Dread > Ravaging Strike > Dire Blow
    Viral Stream > Dire Blow
Infestation > Ravaging Strike > Dire Blow
Ravaging Strike > Shadow of Dread > Ravaging Strike > Dire Blow

    AoE:
    Toggle on Plague Bringer.

Use Rancid Cleave macro provided to build up to 3 attack points.
Then consume those 3 Attack Points with Desecrating Blow.

You also want each enemy to have there own individual Dire Corruption DoT so multiple Dire Corruptions are ticking away.

    Dual Doting:
Just toggle on Plague Bringer and do the normal rotation and let the DoTs from Shadow of Dread spread to nearby enemies, as Plague Bringer will only reduce the damage of your DoTs that apply to other enemies and not you current target.

    Macros:
    #show Soul Sickness
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Flesh Rot
    cast Necrotic Wounds
    cast Soul Sickness

    #show Explosive Infestation
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Explosive Infestation
    cast Ravaging Strike

    #show Infestation
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Infestation
    cast Ravaging Strike

    #show Dire Blow
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast @self Power Manipulation
    cast Dire Blow

    #show Rancid Cleave
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Explosive Infestation
    cast Rancid Cleave

    #show Stumbling Morass
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast @gtae Stumbling Morass
    cast Stumbling Morass

Is it intended to have a set of 2 pt finishers in the 38/38 rotation?

Also, I know it changes almost every other day, but dps expectations of these specs?

Here is another rotation for 38/38 with delayed pulse. I did not really try it much but yeah, maybe this is better or can be modified to do better (just throwing ideas out there)
    Start with 3 ap

    Arc>CP>SS>NW>SF
    LT>DC
    DeP>Infestation

    Arc>CP>SS>NW>SF
    LT>SF
    EB>Infestation

My rotation is near-identical. Delayed Pulse is a dps increase and Steady Strikes > Precision Strikes as of right now.

Precision Strikes is pretty horrible (since it is an additive 3% damage, which comes out to less than a 1.5% overall increase) so no surprise there, no real use for increasing dot length either in a set rotation like this.

    1. It's a bit presumptuous to write a guide before the thing goes live. Having said that, I guess a thanks is in order considering there are so few of us left. Finally, I'm hoping you have to update this thing because the current Reaver on PTS is....well.

    2. What are the numbers ATM for 38/38 because I think there is a better one out there.

Lingering Shadows answered one of my questions.

What are the better specs for warrior doing right now and what are they? I've wanted to do paragon, but ethereal strikes is bugged for me and open the stream doesn't do the right damage.

38/38 is top as far as I know (63k average).
    Warpest is @~62k.
Para is @~60/58/56k with 50% CF good/average/bad crit rng.
Para is @~58k with 20% CF good crit rng (will go up soon).
    RB is @~58k.
Tempest is doing well as well, but I haven't had a VoJ bot to help recently so I don't want to give a solid # right now.

Edit: As an aside, 1min. cd burst specs do much better in a raid environment overall.

I've been messing around with several builds and I'm not one to keep things to myself so here's what I've been testing.

    61 RB/15 reaver/0temp
The interesting thing about this is how dire corruption can proc storm blade and does proc elemental touch on every hit, as well as power manipulation doing so. although i do hear power manipulation is changing. I want the spec to be good because it's a LOT of fun for me personally. The mechanics are a little clunky as in the amount of things that need refreshing and how bursts work now, but it keeps my attention.

My new favorite spec that i want to do well
    39 reaver/37 paragon/0 tempest
This spec is insanely fun for me, it's not very clunky, and I like the play style. The point distribution I do might need some optimization, but the general idea is to 1.) use the extra combo point from follow-ups to get more dire blows and 2.) stack 3 reaver dots, then get infestation, dire blow, and ravaging strike in every shifting blades. the nice thing is when the target is under 30% HP, dire blow and final blessing really kick in.

I'm not sure if their DPS can be super stellar because I'm still working the kinks out of my play.

EDIT: I have the 39/37 reavpara doing more dps than para overall currently when you account for above and below 30%

ALSO I've been getting a bug with ethereal strikes where follow-ups that refresh open the stream, cause open the stream to tick for significantly less damage, so I'm basing the para off what you said.

    power manipulation
    1. Yeah, 38/38 can get pretty out of control with Infest constantly critting and it used to be much worse (74k+).

    2. I've found, with the recent introduction of Warlord's True Form, PM isn't as good anymore even though it does all the things you listed. True Form has been a dps increase in pretty much every build so far, especially bursty specs.

I'm also trying to work on other Reaver hybrids since 51/17/8 just isn't very good.
