Default 2.5 48/28 Beastmaster DPS Guide

Ok so this is the build/rotation that some of you may already have down. None the less im writing this guide to kind of bring some light on it to you all.

The first thing is to clarify some facts.

    1. Its dps is on par or slightly above harbchon and above pyrochon.

    2. the pet is CP capped at 500. with that being said 'you' are not and being that the pet only accounts for 15-20% of your total dps stacking some cp to about 800-900 is still a dps gain.

    3. The 25%hp buff and 15%healing received buff can literally make or break some fights for some guilds. Notable would be for a guild progressing on either Crucia(and these CD's being used during orbital) or even Volan for progression to allow the healers to get used to the cleansing.

    4. Claming influence is an amazing CC ability for a fight like Breaker X-1 in the simple sense its on GCD and gives your raid/tanks those few extra seconds to manage adds(very useful for the tacticians and champions). It is also very useful for some trash mobs in PB.

    5. The on GCD purge is amazing hands down and can free up a slot for dps if you have a undergeared warrior who can run BM. We all know how MM dps is in raids unfortunately so this can give another possible set up or allow your inquisitors to focus on dps.

    The build.

    http://rift.magelo.com/en/soultree#3.../5hakOyFllkA/6

    The buffs.

    Turn the blade.
    Way of the river.
    Call of Stone.
    Call of Savagery.
    Bond of Alacrity.
    Call of Kinship.
    Bond of Power.
    Focus of Body.

    The macros.

    Builder 1

    #show Vicious Opportunity
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Messy Wounds
    cast Vicious Opportunity
    cast Cunning Ruse
    cast Twin Cuts
    cast Vicious Blow
    cast Fierce Strike
    petattack
    cast break free

    Builder 2

    #show Cutting Slash
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Messy Wounds
    cast Vicious Opportunity
    cast Cutting Slash
    petattack

    Fin1

    #show brutal strike
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Messy Wounds
    cast Vicious Opportunity
    cast Brutal Strike

    Fin2

    #show Tearing Slash
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Messy Wounds
    cast flesh rip
    cast Tearing Slash

    Fin3

    #show Shifting Blades
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Messy Wounds
    cast Shifting Blades
    cast soul sickness
    cast vicious blow

    RaidHPbuff

    #show Command to Stand Ground
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Command to Stand Ground
    cast Command to Recover

On bars for single use and micromanagement.

Enrage, Spotter's Order, Sweeping blades, Flinching strike, Flurry, Calming influence, Guardianship, Summon greater primal companion, Thread of trees, Command to attack, Fierce strike.

    On bars to watch CD's

Cunning ruse, Twin cuts, Command to recover, Messy Wounds, Soul sickness.

    --------

I personally have no need for Kalerts but if you need them you will have to make them yourself because i dont use it.

    The Rotation

Only going to list the start of it because it will become priority based with the casting of any raid buffs.

    (B2x3 > Fin2x1 > B1x3 > Fin3x2 >Fin1x1 > Enrage > Priority rotation begins)
Messy wounds > Cutting slashx3 > tearing slash > Cunning ruse >Twin cuts > Vicious blow
Shifting blades > Soul sickness > Vicious blowx2 > Brutal strike > Enrage > Priority rotation begins.

    Notes:

    Bleeds/buffs to keep active:
    Messy wounds - top priority
Cunning ruse - Second top priority
    Cutting slash - high
    Shifting blades usage - high
    tearing slash - medium
    twin cuts - medium
Flesh rip - medium(this reactive is located in the FIN 2 macro and the reason for this is for micromanagement use in between the GCD to stop if from clipping itself)

I did not include spotter's Order, but if no other support spec you can put it almost anywhere.

Enrage will not stack with Orchestra but will stack with everything else.

Sweeping blades helps bring AOE to BM. its not amazing but definitely not worthy to use for a support spec. Allows use of BM on fights where there is aoe needed. Only use if 3 or more target present.

    Parses Self buffed

    ST
(energy starved, with LE no energy problems - normally is around 18.5 with use of enrage)

    2.5 48/28 Beastmaster DPS Guide-bm-st.jpg

    AoE
Same basic rotation as the ST, fit in flurry when you can)
(no energy problems with LE, dont use spotter's order, Flurry is a dps gain here)

    2.5 48/28 Beastmaster DPS Guide-bm-aoe.jpg

Their is a lot of leeway with the rotation. This is presented to give a baseline understanding to those who dont normally run it, or at least the hope of such.

I hope this isnt too confusing and helps anyone who actually runs BM.

It was determined the pet is not CP capped at 500 this is just a display bug, unless it's different for warriors I guess.

Oh and thank you for the guide we want to try BM sometime.

Also if you dont want to mess with shifting blades heres another build to consider and is easier to manage but it is lower dps.

    Use storm blade

    remove Fin3

    replace B1 with this

    #show Vicious Blow
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Messy Wounds
    cast Vicious Opportunity
    cast Cunning Ruse
    cast Twin Cuts
    cast Tranquility
    cast Vicious Blow
    cast Fierce Strike
    petattack
    cast break free

Is this test gear, live gear? What are we looking at as far as stats go for this parse?

    Live gear on live dummy.

Stats in rotation. T2 4/4 crystal set. MH weapon is Refraction blade(tank weapon) and using crafted helm with highest barbaric augment for more AP and warrior barbaric cape. CP/AP greaters.

I'm getting better results with this build, even though it is not energy sustainable. On PTS, test gear T2,

    approx. 19k with 48BM 28Para,
    approx. 20.5k with 48BM 28WL.

For both tests, a little above 5min, with 1 Order of Attack.

Am I missing something ? Am I doing wrong with your build or something ?

maybe. I would recommend putting on live gear and parsing the difference then. Some specs scale a lot better then other ones and the only way to show the true difference is to put scaling gear on, ie crit and crit power. being that CP is lackluster on the PTS gear and as such is horrid for showing scaling. il try both and post back.

Are you sure? I thought they stacked, but been a while since I tested it. And I might have missed something when I did. Will test again. And also, wouldn't it crash with Lava Field as well if it doesn't stack with Orchestra?

OotP and Enrage do stack. Tested it, again, to confirm. Afaik Enrage conflicts with nothing.

Anyone have a good estimate as to the raid contribution of Enrage alone, per person. I tried testing with a friend but without LE we were doomed to 2~min parses in which crit rng seemed to swallow Enrage's gains.

With Darkranger's DPS calculator, I get a little bit below 2% DPS gain for Enrage.

Approximately what type of improvement in DPS should I be expecting to see over 61 BM in T1 raid gear with a 'venerated' core? I've been getting about a 1.8K increase but I'm pretty sure I'm being bad. Or if somebody had a parse of the damage breakdown by attack that would be helpful.

    Cheers.

Confirmed his confirmation and he's correct Nefy. OoTP and Enrage do indeed stack, which is nice. As to how much dps is gives each person I couldn't say Trev...I don't do math ****. I'd say if the person playing BM is good then it's worth it on "some" fights. The soul still needs an overhaul if you ask me though...but that's a discussion for another time.
