    1.1 - Introduction:

Firstly, i dont consider myself much of a theorycrafter or something. From the early 2012 though, when i decided to play Rift, i always followed the top builds from Val's RW to Steelwind and Shun. Paragon was my favourite soul. There are 2 (even 3) 61 Paragon specs that parse almost even. Please feel free to post questions, feedback or contact me.

    1.2 - FAQ:

    Q: How paragon plays?
A: Paragon depends (uses) on follow up skills, which are Rising Waterfall and Final Blessing(used for <30%). If you add the Weapon Master talent, which procs 2 attack points, then it goes down to:
    Builder(1ap) > Follow up(2ap) > Finisher (finish with 3 ap)

Q: Im a new player, can i use this for leveling?
A: Nope, full paragon isnt advised for lvl/solo.

Q: Dual wield or 2hand weapon?
A: Its the same. Alwayz look at the weapon dps and use the higher. for dual wield you have to look the main hand dps(offhand is just stats). to compare it with 2 hander dps, multiply 1hander x 1.3

Q: What have changed for Paragon going into 2.3 Patch?
A: Swift Finesse: Now increases the damage Flurry and Reaping Harvest by 10-30%.
Strike Like Iron: Now increases all damage by 25%. Lasts 1 hr. No longer a finisher.

Q: What is the best parsing Single Target DPS Spec?
A: If done correctly, this spec will parse the highest (some fights being an exception).

Q: What is the best parsing AOE DPS Spec?
A: 61 Paragon is a pure single target spec. Best parsing AOE DPS spec is 61 Champion.

Q: What crystal should i use and what if i have 2/4 or 3/4 set?
A: Paragon crystal obviously and the rotation is same. Be prepared for 400 dps or more loss.

Q: Is it a hard spec?
A: It isnt recommended for new players but will the recent QoL updates (2.3), it can be managed easier. It will pay off for sure.

Q: Too many skills/buttons, the fk?
A: I dont use many macro's, but i will provide some of them to help out.

Q: Why to play Paragon when i have my Riftblade which does everything?
A: Noone forces anyone to "use" specific spec. If you feel Rb is more fun, go for it.

Q: Should I keep Rising Waterfall on its own key or can use it in the same Macro with other skills and how much DPS will I lose from doing this?
A: RW can be macro'ed with any skill you like. No DPS loss.

Q: What to do if disconnect?
A: Learn the fight. If it has small disconnects, you have flamespear/Shock pulse/3 ranged finishers. If ranged prefered, use Riftblade or Tempest.

Q: Boss casts blind/boss casts red **** on the ground, how i get back to the fight without loosing the rotation?
A: Use your brain, learn the rotation, have your eyes open, use Karuul.

    Q: Energy issues?
A: yes there are, especially when you dont have fervor or Living energy, thats why you have Flurry, which is a dps loss. If you wont use Flurry often, Dps is even higher.

    Q: VoJ or not?
A: Hard to answer, in my guild we never run Voj. It could help the dps with the energy it gives, no idea how much.

    Q: Crit Power or not?
A: Paragon loves CP, stack as much as you can.

Q: 8rb parses better than 10champ or vice versa.
A: Latency, lag, live buffs can make difference. For example i play with ~100ms stable.

    2.1 Specs:

    Key buffs
Amped= Ap and weapon dmg +10% for 15 sec. Keep up with SP.
DJ= Double jeopardy=using TtT or SS increases crit chance of follow up by 9% for 6 sec. This CANNOT be up 100%.
WF= Weapon Familiarity= +1% weapon dmg for 15 sec. Ignore it, it will be alwayz up.

    2.3 - Macros:

    The macros i use:

    FiB Macro:
    #show Final Blessing
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Final Blessing
    cast Rising Waterfall

    Rest own key.

    Suggested Macros:

    #show Death Touch
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Death Touch
    cast Final Blessing
    cast Rising waterfall
    cast Swift Strike

    #show Setting Moon
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Open the Stream
    cast Setting Moon

    #show Combat Focus
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Combat focus
    cast Reaping Harvest

I would really recommend on their own keybinds: Shock pulse, Fiery Burst, Flurry, Shifting blades, reaping harvest

    2.4 - Toggle Buffs:

3.1 - 8 Riftblade 7 tempest Single Target Rotation Cycle:

After the fliching fixed, we cant use it. Flows very well, numbers are fairly high. Goes

Opening (whatever the ap at this point):
Shock Pulse > TtT>( Rising Waterfall)> Reaping Harvest

Setting Moon> Open The Stream> Shifting Blades
    Flamespear> Rising Waterfall*> Reaping Harvest*
Death Touch*> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest
Shock Pulse> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest <<< Flurry when energy starved
Swift Strike> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest

Setting Moon> Open The Stream> Shifting Blades
    Flamespear> Rising Waterfall*> Reaping Harvest*
    Combat Focus> Reaping Harvest*
Swift Strke> Rising Waterfall> Icy Burst**
Shock Pulse> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest
Swift Strike> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest

    Notes:
    1) Priorities to track: Shifting Blades, Amped, Flamespear, Fiery Burst, DJ
    2) Amped/flamespear 100%up
    3) Fiery burst has been removed since it doesnt line up v good.
    4) Icy burst every 30 sec in the combat focus rotation. it helps:
    a) line up SB better.
    b) Helps with amped alot.
    5) SM is clipping by 3 sec.
    6) *= Where the Shifting Blade should hit.
    7) Disconnect?
    Flamespear>sp>sp> ib
    sp>sp>sp ib spam
    repeat after 15 sec
    8) **= can replace that cycle with RW>2point RH since CF procs follow ups. Dmg is abt the same.
9)Important: Fell free to use ONLY Reaping harvest if u think all line up good. Depends heavily on lag and latncy.
    10) As of hotfix 15, FLURRY is ranged ability and can be used for disconnect reasons. Use it wisely, 30 sec cd sometimes is alot time in a fight.

3.2 10 Champion Single target Rotation Cycle

Old school (kinda) parachamp, with pure Physical finishers that hit like a truck. Easy cycle.

    Opening(whatever the ap):
    Mark Of Inevitability>(Shock Pulse)> Charge> (RW)> Reaping Harvest

Setting Moon> Open The Stream> Reaping Harvest
Shock Pulse> Rising Waterfall> Shifting Blades
    **Sweep> Rising Waterfall*> Reaping Harvest*
Death Touch*> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest
Swift Strike> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest

Setting Moon> Open The Stream> Reaping Harvest
Shock Pulse> Rising Waterfall> Shifting Blades
    Sweep>Rising Waterfall*> Reaping Harvest*
Combat Focus> Reaping Harvest* <<<Flurry when energy starved
Swift Strike> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest
Swift Strike> Rising Waterfall> Reaping Harvest

    Notes:
    1) Priorities to check: Shifting Blades, Amped, Sweep, Mark of Inevitability
    2) ** In the Death touch rotation, its debatable wether a savage sweep is better over a Swift strike. If we would swap sweep there it will go

Death Touch*> Rising waterfall*> Reaping Harvest*
    Swift strike> Rising waterfall>reaping Harvest
    Swift strike> Rising waterfall>reaping Harvest

    3) *= Where the SB should hit.
    4) Disconnect?
    Flamespear> SP>SP> Skyfall
    5) Mark Of Inevitability is an armor debuff. It doesnt stack with other armor debuffs. So, speak with ur tanks(reaver)/ranger/sabo to decide who will use it.
    6) As of hotfix 15, FLURRY is ranged ability and can be used for disconnect reasons. Use it wisely, 30 sec cd sometimes is alot time in a fight.

    3.3 - Monitor
Karuul is your friend. Use to track SLI, FS, Amped, and whatever else u need.

    3.4 - Parses

    Should be re tested again.
DO NOT TAKE THOSE NUMBERS FOR FACT. Its just an example of how close paragon specs are.

    http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/7594/pung.jpg
    8rb/7tempest
no consumables 8.30 min parse, perfect rotation, 3 flurry.
    8riftblade/7 tempest
    Reaping harvest: 33.33% crit
    Rising Waterfall: 39% crit

    was 17.5k stable +- 10 dps, until i got out 17.345k

    http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/953/7v4e.jpg
    10champ/5 tempest
No consumables, 7.44 min parse 1 flurry
rotation: priority ONLY, 100% amped up, SB not filling perfect in rotations, but its usual with no Rb finishers. Mark is up 100%.

Death toll 200 dps (was 330 in 8 rb fk knows)

    17.6k stable +- 70 dps untill off combat . result 17.480k
    Reaping Harvest: 42% crit
    Rising Waterfall: 44% crit

I have to re do Champ rotation to priority only. Have ti think a way to be a bit familiar with new ppl.

Both specs equal. *rb might pull SLIGHT ahead. very slight.

    3.5 - Where to use

61Paragon can be used in many fights. It goes down how effective player is.
    10 man(t1)--> All of them
FT --> Gelidra(if not on adds etc)
FT --> Zaviel (actually 1 of my favourite fights with para. Move and hit in melee.nice.)
EE --> Kain ( if u have rb fellow warriors)
    FT --> Crucia
    EE --> Matriarch
    EE --> Goloch

    3.6 - Another spec, 61paragon/8riftblade/7champion

    http://rift.magelo.com/en/soultree#3kllayGGGli/2gg/7mw

    Notes:
This spec is easier than the other two. It has only flamespear as a dot, to help SB, and most important
there is no Amped! no need to track that cause it doesnt exist. The rotation is pretty obvious and similar to 10rb/5tempest. Just apply flamespear every 15 sec and open with sm>ots>sb.

On the downside, if paragon normally has disconnect problems, with this spec ranged capability is non existant.
Personally i use it only on Matriarch, where i must
call for interupts, watch her cast blue cast, do mechanics, and pull good numbers. I use many buttons so with that spec i dont have to worry abt fb or about amped etc.

    4.1 - History

14/06->3.2 Updated with Mark Of Inevitability (MoI)
25/06 -> 3.6 Added, another spec! perma melee!
25/06->3.1 Updated with an option of 9rb/6temp instead of the original 10rb/5temp.
    25/06-> 4.2 Updated Credits.
25/06-> 3.4 Updated with some parses.
    25/06-> 2.5 Added Gear
27/06-> 3.3 Added karul alerts, 4.2 updated credits and 1.2 added on more FAQ
19/07 -> 3.1 Riftblade/tempest changed for hotfix 10, including rotation, build and Notes.
    30/07 -> 3.4 Parses updated
02/08 -> 2.3 DT macro changed, removed SB from SM macro
02/08 -> 3.1 Added TtT in opener, added an alternative cycle after CF>RH on notes, changed disconnect spam.
    02/08 - > 4.2 Added mhaze at Credits.
    16/08 -> 3.1 & 3.2 Notes added. New Flurry

    4.2 - Credits

    Weenz
    Pines
Vrab (Ervun) for the 8rb/7champ spec. Long time guildie :P
    Ferboten
    Kryoz
    mhaze

I guess thats about all i can think at the moment. Have fun with parses and kills.

5/5 meaning 11champ/4 temp? Cause i doubt it could work
if no sweep and 5/5 TNP, well, 2 SB procs would be eaten by swift or shock pulse. so that 2% more..dont know

    Hitting a dummy for 1m with just Swift Strike and RH gives me an average;
    SS - 6175
    RH - 12728

    12728 - 6175 * .75 = a loss of 4914.75

Everything being ideal you have that loss once every 30s so that's:
    4914.75 / 30 = a loss of 163.8 DPS.

Question is does the switch in points and rotation give you a gain of 163.8 DPS to make up for it.

My parsing isn't accurate enough to answer that.

Also my gears not that great so the numbers would be very different for you guys, however they should all scale.

Why is flinching used? Last time I played a lot it didn't even do any damage.

Interrupts proc followup attacks now in paragon. This is what was implemented as a workaround the issue of interrupts breaking followup procs previously. So now it's used as a dps gain instead.

Thats how i play it atm. Rotation 2 is a dps gain, if Death Touch isnt rdy and you cant starve with this rotation (thats why i put 1 point in enhanced power and not in surging energy).

The reason why i have flamespear with open the stream in one macro is, that even with Fleet of Foot 1 gcd is at range, before being at the boss. afterwards with 2x 15sec rotations it doesnt matter anymore, since duration is at least 15sec.

PS: Maybe someone can test it and show some parses compared to Seppy's, since im a bit higher with this one, when i parse it (or im not able to play yours seppy )

Yar, I run w/ 5/5 TNP and 4/5 Titan's Strength. Just happy to be playing Paragon again, looks like we're balanced fairly closely with Sin after running Paragon on the first boss in GA last night. Will know more after we clear the 20's later in the week.
