    Default [2.2][PvP][DPS] 61 Warlord

With the changes to ready posture, and the surges lasting for 1min now, warlord is a fun alternative to Riftblade for melee. This spec has 2 pulls, 2 charges, and a 10% passive run speed buff, with insoles staying in melee is not a challenge. It does make use of shock pulse, and without having a snare it is going to be a pretty healthy chunk of your dps.

    The spec

You have a lot of finishers to make use of, I personally make sure I have tactical and battle surge up at all times, and I only use defensive surge occasionally. You should use breaking blow for the shatter buff, but mostly you will use fiery/icy.

    Macros:

    Builder
    #show Empowering Strike
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Backhand
    cast Piercing Thrust
    cast Arterial Strike
    cast King of the Hill
    cast A Quick Death
    cast Empowering Strike
    cast Shock Pulse

    Finisher
    #show Killing Field
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Killing Field
    cast Fiery Burst
    cast Icy Burst

I do this to save a key, with the bursts ogcd again they will pretty much always fire. If you want killing field to fire, wait till the gcd refreshes then use the macro.

    Gap closer
    #show Clear the Breach
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Into the Breach
    cast Clear the Breach

    Burst
    #show Decisive Strike
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Decisive Strike
    cast Piercing Thrust

Other abilities: Sergeant's and General's order, Breaking Blow, Windspear, Battle and Tactical Surge, Defensive Maneuver, Forced March, and Neck Punch.

This is a fun build, at least I think so hehe, even though its tough to be in melee pvp these days, Ive had a good time running this.

i like going 10 into para for rw and AP bonus and 5 in temp for range AP bonus

get both your surges up and the burst is insane

I've enjoyed warlord since the start of Storm Legion. The only problem I'm finding is that it's very energy starved. Are you able to keep energy levels workable with fervor or living energy? My personal favorite is either 41/51 WL and 35/25 paragon for ST dps but the energy just goes too quickly.

What are you parsing on this? Dps gain should be considered for mobs under 30%.

I was just parsing 9k with this one on single target, guild hall dummy - no consumables, 4k AP, 2k PC, 490 CP.

I thought of trying that, but i like avatar of the wind too much. What percentage of your dps are you seeing from RW?

for pvp i havent had any energy issues, but seeing Steel's reply made me want to parse it in pve gear and i went starved in about 45 seconds

Had LE, no consumables, starved after about 1:15 but it really didn't seem to matter.

I currently use a slightly different build with 10 points in RB and 5 in para.

11.5 k on the dummy (selfbuffed only+4piece crystal), testing it in raids soon. You kind of need a build up to good dps with this since you apply the surges in the beginning of the fight, but then dps rises. Taking into account dps will improve further with mobs under 30% I'm curious how much deeps i can get with warlord.

Plus, it has a ****load of utility!

    Just a quick question.

Isn't it better to put reactives like "Backhand" on the end of the macro? To avoid macro lag since backhand is OGC?

I was parsing 61WL with para and champ but you get energy starved at about 40 secs...

Im a bit sick of the piss poor energy of all our builds tbh

After being underwhelmed by the paragon changes on wednesday I wrote this up and posted in guild forums. Tried it on Fridays raids and it parsed equal to paragon with alot more utility and very simple rotation.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so I was reading through the different posts on the rift warrior discussion forums yesterday and came across someone making a vague reference to a 61 point warlord build that was parsing well but gave no spec/rotation.

So, after trying a few different combinations this is what I came up with. If you notice places for improvements please don't hesitate to speak up.

    The build:
61 Warlord - point allocation obvious
    11 Paragon:
5 points - Teaching of the 5 Rings
    5 points - Weapon Familiarity
    1 point - Devoted Training
    4 Champion:
    4 points - Titan's Strength

Buffs: Deadly Posture, Ready Posture, Everything is a Weapon, Battlefield Experience, Soldier's Bearing, and Way of the River

    Macros:
    Builder 1:
    #show Rising Waterfall
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Piercing Thrust
    cast A Quick Death
    cast Rising Waterfall
    cast Empowering Strike

    Builder 2:
    #show Empowering Strike
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast King of The Hill
    cast Decisive Strike
    cast A Quick Death
    cast Rising Waterfall
    cast Piercing Thrust
    cast Empowering Strike

    Finisher:
    #show Breaking Blow
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Killing Field
    cast Breaking Blow

    AoE Builder:
    #show Wave of Steel
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast King of The Hill
    cast Decisive Strike
    cast A Quick Death
    cast Rising Waterfall
    cast Wave of Steel
    cast Empowering Strike

    Single Target Rotation:
    Starting with 3 Attack Points:

    Tactical Surge - Builder 1 x 3 - Battle Surge
    Builder 2 x 3 - Finisher <repeat for 1 minute, then reapply Surge's>

    AoE Rotation:
Use AoE Builder in place of Builder 2

    Hotbar Setup:

    1. Tactical Surge
    2. Builder 1
    3. Battle Surge
    4. Builder 2
    5. Finisher
    6. Arterial Strike
    Rotation = 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5 <then repeat 4, 4, 4, 5 - for 1 minute, until Surges need refreshing>

6 - Arterial Strike is a reactive dmg/dot that can be used on block/dodge/parry <by you or what you are attacking> for a slight dps increase.

Under 30% you will be spamming A Quick Death as it has no cooldown then finisher, which will add roughly 1k dps for last 30%.

My parsing right now is at:
    61 Tempest - 10.8k - 11.2k
    61 Paragon 15 Tempest - 11.2k - 11.4k
    61 Warlord - 11.2k - 11.6k <requires chloro/bard power regen to maintain over 1 minute>

This spec is very crit heavy <was close to 50% crit rate during raid fights, those who stack crit power my see a greater dps output>

    My Stats:
    AP - 3716
    PC - 2000
    CP - 362

While the DPS isn't blowing other specs away, the utility is what makes this spec shine imo:

    Utility:
    6k more hps than Paragon/Tempest
    5k more armor than Paragon/Tempest

Battlefield Medic: 2k self heal, 8 second cooldown
No Permission to Die: 50% heal on killing blows
Brothers in Arms: 15% dmg mitigation buff <you take 15% of someone else's dmg taken> Good for fights with no Defilier or simply to toss on your favorite healer/raid member with low hps
    Neck Punch: Interrupt
Forced March: 50% movement speed increase for 15 seconds
Seargent's/General's Orders: Single target and Group pull to warrior abilities
Into the Breach/Clear the Breach: Charge with single target/aoe dmg
    Defensive/Recovery Posture: Solo postures

Anyhow, that's what i've come up with to this point. Give it a try, I personally like it alot more than Paragon (in its current state) and think it could be very useful for Matriarch with easy aoe without taking away much from ST and huge HP and Armor bumps for warrior, as well as brother's in arms if needed for people still behind a bit on hps.

Originally I started working on this build for pvp, and if backhand lagged the macro I never noticed it. Seeing some of the responses here has me more and more interested in what this build can do in pve.
