12 second CD on rapid fire shot would be worth it would it not? I have to test but noone to bard or chloro for me right now

EDIT: although not having it on a 12 sec CD would also improve energy consumption so perhaps this is a good move

just parsed with a chloro and without the reduced CD on RFS I was never below 60% energy, now I'm wondering if losing 2 points from single minded focus is worth the 14 second RFS CD. will post after some tests

After parsing several times, this spec is 300-400 behind my current 40-36 which takes piercing and strafe. It's also starved on the dummy so you will need to weave in deadeye for power management while parsing solo. Watching this thread closely.

I'm not power starved at all with a bard and the armor debuff we have is applied by someone else

just got done parsing with rapid extraction (2 pts out of single minded focus) it was a very slight dps increase for me over a 5 minute parse (only about 50-100) but the reduced cooldown on the interrupt made it worth it to me, the dps increase could have been due to crit RNG as well.

Parsing solo and with a bard are not the same.

For myself all I care about is how the build will perform in a raid setting. I'd prefer to know how the builds stack up with fervor/living energy then without.

I started working out stat weights for this build since it's the main dps build I run in raids and was really surprised at the results. I find people usually overlook key variables when calculating weights which makes the results meaningless so I wanted to double check. This is the stat weight for splinter shot and not the entire build. Doing each ability will take time.

One of the main things I've figured out is there are diminishing returns to all stats. Attack power scales linearly and crit/crit power scales multiplicatively so always stacking attack power is not the way to go.

Crit, as expected, is not a good stat. Even though there's diminishing returns on ap, crit is also relatively low. I believe the reason for this is the devs wanted to stop the issue of hitting the crit cap so set crit to scale very slowly. We're in the first tier of raiding/experts for 60 and they wanted room to improve in case there were to be 3 or 4 tiers of raiding at 60.

The stat that stands out for being good is crit power. When I checked crit power vs other stats without raid buffs I came up with the same conclusions as other people who've checked into stat weights at about 1ap=2crit power... but when you add in raid buffs there's a completely different picture. In raids you should be gaining 5% from archon, 2.5% from tempest, 1% from bard and 5% from lethal. That's an additional 13.5% crit on top of the build already gaining an additional 5% crit through talents. When plugging in these numbers I got that 1ap=1.1crit power. So the stat really takes off with raid buffs, the reason is diminishing returns and what raid buffs provide. Raid buffs give you a ton of ap and crit but no crit power, so with diminishing returns crit power's value increases dramatically.

That means pretty much all the +crit power lessers off Torvan and Lycini rep are BiS. Here's what I found are the BiS lessers:

    Blackest Ebonseed 146.560651872094 (raid rift)
    Hunt Prime Brimstone 131.165357248349
    Hunt Prime Lifewood 128.762731809885
    Tempest Bay Deathbane 127.471903265796
Jagged Runed Boneshard 119.607173025199 (raid rift)
    Tempest Bay Grounding Stone 109.318373810028
    Hunt Prime Sandstone 106.493996075852
    Hunt Prime Rotward 103.896485139148

When I've finished doing weights for more abilities I'll update the results. One thing too, I wouldn't always stack crit power too. The more you add of any stat and the less valuable it becomes.

Bah, finished calculating the rest of the weights for abilities and found a mistake. Here's the proper weights for the build:

    Code:
    Splinter Shot
    AP	1	1
    Crit	0.273121365179091	3.66137595769661
    Crit Power	0.727413235930257	1.37473440213271

    Hasted
    AP	1	1
    Crit	0.278877037794006	3.58580974579433
    Crit Power	0.742742510658346	1.34636160668066

    Empowered
    AP	1	1
    Crit	0.291805576083874	3.4269393115112
    Crit Power	0.777175517637039	1.2867106301038

    Swift
    AP	1	1
    Crit	0.279377104592512	3.57939138018686
    Crit Power	0.744074355231649	1.34395170720361

    Rapid Fire
    AP	1	1
    Crit	0.278770463548904	3.58718060467899
    Crit Power	0.742458667918714	1.34687632215708

    Strafe
    AP	1	1
    Crit	0.297824744155464	3.35767937226197
    Crit Power	0.793206568599791	1.26070564665803

    Shadow Fire
    AP	1	1
    Crit	0.301138180436124	3.32073468250273
    Crit Power	0.802031353893478	1.24683404850132

    Total Average
    AP	1
    Crit	0.285471065784935	3.50298198260614
    Crit Power	0.760304605207648	1.31526232137827
So 1 AP = 3.5 crit = 1.3 crit power, or to find out which item is best multiply total crit by .028 and crit power by .76 to compare between ap, crit and crit power directly.

    Here's the BiS lesser list:

    Code:
    Blackest Ebonseed	133.107242497176 (RR Drop)
Jagged Runed Boneshard	121.023581739543 (RR Drop)
    Hunt Prime Brimstone	119.505728730654
    Hunt Prime Lifewood	118.10395032369
    Tempest Bay Deathbane	117.398036508067
    Tempest Bay Grounding Stone	110.500880167875
    Hunt Prime Sandstone	107.663507858338
    Hunt Prime Rotward	105.01401862019
Blazing Power	102.972347457686 (Hunt Rift Drop)

Nice work on the weights! How do you weight dex and str, just the sum of the crit/AP they give or do you add 5% on top of that? Wondering so I can use Magelo for items they have complete lists of.
Dummy Foundry rocks. CQ blows. Energy is meh. MORE ROLE SLOTS! Burma shave.

The trouble with that spec is, what are you going to do if anyone hits you back?
