Default Cleric PVE Defiler variation- The Fallen Battle Priest

RIP Fallen Battle Priest. This build is now broken. I'm not going to remove it until Trion removes my preset from the build preset menu in game I guess.

What's that? Cleric has a viable melee( mainly) heal hybrid?.......and it works?
Why yes, yes it does friend! There are just a couple of things you should ask yourself. First, Are you a cleric? Are you bored of the same ol' same ol' 61 soul builds? Are you looking for something new and fun to play? Ya?.......good.

The Fallen Battle Priest: The concept is a melee combatant that easily puts out a grip of healing. Built and battle tested from the ground up. I am quite proud to provide a new and interesting healing build that works for all content. Raid tested! This build's job would be that of support for the defiler links and not a main raid heals in a raid. To be clear the build is mainly designed to be a 5man dungeon healer.

    THE BUILD

    THE BUFFS/LINKS:
Grief Blight (+1%heal+absorption when hit-5 stacks, put on yourself)

Link of Agony (intercept 20% of damage from target, caster takes 19% of intercepted damage, max 1 target, put on tank)

Righteous Mandate (causes your salvation healing to also heal the target. Within the build the number of players healed by salvation is increased to 5,put on tank)

Divine Favor (Single target heals also heal a set amount on target of this buff, put on tank first, then two others. usually top dps and support or tank healer if you are not main healing)

Link of Suffering (intercept 13% of damage from target, caster takes 30% of intercepted damage, max 1 target, put on support or dps)

Link of Misery (intercept 10% of damage from target, caster takes 59% of intercepted damage, max 1 target, put on dps)

Link of Distress (intercept 5% of damage from target, caster takes 85% of intercepted damage, max 1 target, put on dps)

Each party member in a 5man dungeon will have a link on them except for you.

    THE MASTERIES:
    61
Avenging Shield (Critical hits with damaging and healing abilities apply an absorb shield to you for 3% of your max up to once every 6sec)

    62
Divine Inspiration(Increases healing and absorption by 5%, 5m non melee damage range boost)** Use this if you're healing a 5man**
    or
Healing Remnat (Healing over time and absorb anilitues apply a stack of Healing Remnant to the Ally, Increasing healing received by 1.5% per stack. Max 2 stacks. Lasts 15s) ** Use this one instead if you're defiling a raid**

    63
Faith's Freedom( CC effects on you -10% duration,Combat rez brings allies back with 100% health while taking 30% less damage for 5sec. The effect ends if they use a combat ability)-a more heals oriented mastery
    or
Meditation(+10% mana regen, ST cleanse removes an additional debuff on the same ally after 3sec, Ravaging Darkness refreshes and spreads stacks of darkness)-solves two of the builds main weaknesses to a degree, Better cleansing and less mana starvation. i use this one-

    64
Sinister Resolve(damage buff to DOTS 8%,Delayed damage 5%, and non-instant nonchanneled abilities by 3%, Rampant growth has a +10% chance to apply Foul Growth)-a more heals oriented mastery
    or
Faith's Reward( instant and channeled damage and heals apply a stacking buff to you granting -0.5sec cast time per stack to you next non-instant ability.Max 5 stacks)-This allows you to cast Pain Transmission instantly. PT has a 2sec cast time so you only need to build four stacks. I use this one-

    65
Divine Providence/Favor( Apply to three party members, each gain an additional amount of healing to affected players each time you cast a single target heal)

You could chose Soul Steam over Divine Providence if you want a stronger ST tank healing option but i find that, assuming you keep up on Foul Growth stacks, you don't need any nuke heals and the channeling means no Foul Growths or Faith's Rewards are being stacked.

Soul Stream( does a large amount of damage on a ST enemy or a heal equal to 50% of caster's health each second over a 3 second channel)

    ROTATION:

Set up--Focus tank, Righteous Mandate and Links up. Divine Favor on three targets. Note that your DF is below any traditional Cleric healers in a raid as far as priority. Your targets will get a massive st heal spike each time you consume 3 FG stacks.

Aoe--Even Justice, Pain Transmission when off cd and consume 4 stacks of Faith's Reward, Feedback to consume Foul Growth stacks when needed for aoe heals, ST heal macro for ST heals.

St--St macro, Beacon of Despairmacro+Pain Transmission when off cd and consume 4 stacks of Faith's Reward, Feedback to consume Foul Growth stacks when needed for aoe heals, ST heal macro for ST heals.

    HOW IT WORKS:

As a Justicar/Defiler hybrid, the build's bread and butter comes from the Justicar abilities:
    -Salvation(damage heals the party)
    -Even Justice(10 aoe within 7m)

    And the Defiler abilities:
-Foul Growth's stacks( heals after 10sec-3 stacks) and Foul Growth's triggers.
-Feedback ( aoe heal, triggers 5 party member's FG stacks)
-Ghastly Restoration ( st heal on a 15sec cd, trigger all FG stacks)
-Loathsome Restoration (Instant st heal with no cd, triggers FG stacks)
-Pain Transmission (Deals decent damage spread evenly to up to 5 enemies within 7m the target) ** PT also procs a lot of Salvation healing instantly**

As you will not have link heals on yourself, you can offset it with three abilities.
Hideous Reconstruction macro ( heals over 15sec)
Siphon Vitality ( deals damage to your target and heals the cleric over 15sec)
Explosive Growth (Applies 3 stacks of Foul Growth)
    *Justicar passive also heals you*

ST SPAM macro is used to build Foul Growth stacks on the party from range. It is possible to only use this but the Salvation healing from Even Justice and Strike of Judgement is large enough to make melee a priority. Note that Bond of Torment is placed at the end as it will build and refresh Faith's Reward stacks from 35m range if you really can't get back into melee and have no choice but to move.

Explosive Growth (instant, applies 3 stacks of Foul Growth) can be spammed with the ST HEAL macro for massive st healing for a heavy mana cost in a 1,2,1,2,1,2 ect. way.

    THE MACROS:

    ST SPAM:

    cast @mouseoverui link of misery

    5% LINK:

    #show link of distress
    suppressmacrofailres
    cast @mouseoverui link of distress

ALTERNATE ALL IN ONE LINK MACRO- This is going to allow you to put your links up on the entire group with just one button. Divine Favor can be cast on three players and this macro will only cast it once the tank. Reason for this is to allow you to choose who gets the other two DF buffs. Usually top dps or support. You must have the tank both focused and targeted while you spam this for it to work. Great for pvp.

    #show link of agony
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast @mouseoverui link of agony
    cast @focus link of agony
    cast @self divine providence
    cast @group01 link of suffering
    cast @group01 link of misery
    cast @group01 link of distress
    cast @group02 link of misery
    cast @group02 link of distress
    cast @group02 link of suffering
    cast @group03 link of distress
    cast @group03 link of suffering
    cast @group03 link of misery
    cast @group04 link of suffering
    cast @group04 link of misery
    cast @group04 link of distress
    cast @group05 link of misery
    cast @group05 link of distress
    cast @group05 link of suffering
    cast [notactive] divine favor
    cast @focus righteous mandate

SUMMON BEACON OF DESPAIR:** This will allow you to kill your beacon without having to click it off on your buff bar.**

    #show summon beacon of despair
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast summon beacon of despair
    cancelbuff summon beacon of despair

STRENGTHS: Better Utility than normal Defiler builds. Great spot healing. Great healing for minimal button press economy. Evil Cleric Melee healer(duh).

    WEAKNESSES:

No aoe cleanse( This is only a problem for boss fights where you must cleanse the entire party quickly. It's still doable with the cleanse macro but can be a challenge.)

    Slight Mana starvation

It's Melee(only a weakness if you hate melee and even so, the build has a ranged option built in.)

    Ungolok.

In my opinion, this is better than normal Defiler. It trades Unstable Trans cd, which is very good on a 1min cd) for sustained aoe heals from Justicar. Reading the guide details this and how the synergy works. Links and large raid heals? yes please.

But you heal Ungolock with a Puri and a Bard. Why play Defiler?

Most fights that require links also require UT at some point, or at least it's very useful. I guess you could make a point for some very special scenario, but with all the 54 harbingers around now, you don't really need more surplus raid healing.
Also, as Zelaa has already said, you don't really Defile on Ungolok anymore.

In a perfect world you're likely correct but there are more factors going into who uses what than just what's best this patch and not every raid is going to be geared. Yes prog runs are still a thing. It depends on the skill and gear of those you are running with and also your play style.

One of the first things the build says is that it's a build for dungeons and not raids as a dungeon healer. It is also able to perform the functions of normal defiler. I didn't claim this was the best defiler set up for raiding content but that i believed it's a solid and fun variation that is more rounded.

So is this build designed to run with the a highly skilled team in a raid environment? No.

I'm worried that people will just look at the comment section and reply without actually reading the guide to answer their questions.

Here's the build, Deal with it. lol

*updated guide so the intent is more clear. Thanks for the feedback*

The best Tank for this would be the 55' Ct

    http://rift.magelo.com/en/soultree#l...Iy/pk8hm8|PITg

for the mass dispell (same with a 61 defiler soloheal)

I think there is just a small spot with rare situations this spec can show his worth.
It takes his hps source from aoe spam wich will consume tons of mana.
Also there are rare exp bosses with permanent group damage and many adds to cleave on.
I think its a funny hybrid for speedruns but at least with a T1 group you can run this with a Bard / Druid and later on without a heal dpsing through giving the ct Divine Providence to top op people
I see its future in Soloing 65 chronicles, IA allrounder and the rare bosses it can max out its benefits

ps: it reminds me of <Penetrator@Brutwacht>'s liberator-warlord hybrid before the Dichtomy of Pain patch

nevertheless its good to know about this option. Thanks for sharing
