    Default Quick Shaman Guide

So this guide has all the information on how to use Level 50 & Level 65 Shaman all in one place.
Though warning mistakes could be present.

    Level 50
    Best Spec:
    51 Shaman, 10 Druid, 5 Inquisitor

    Buffs:
    Armor of Devotion
    Glory of the Chosen
    Heart of the Frozen Sea

As there are two different Weapon buffs and only one can be active at a time you will need to swap when the situation changes.
Vengeance of the Winter Storm is to be used when engaging one enemy or up to three enemies.
Vengeance of the Primal North is to be used when engaging four or more enemies.

    Starting Rotation:
Frozen Wrath > Vex > Rage of the North
Ride the Lightning > Combined Effort > Lightning Hammer

Deep Freeze > Massive Blow > Jolt > Rush of Strength > Massive Blow

    Rotation:
Keep Frozen Wrath, Vex and Lightning Hammer active on the target.

You want to proc Frostbite before using any Physical damaging ability, which only comes from using a Non-Physical melee damaging ability, as Frostbite increases it's damage by 30%.

So when Frostbite is active use Massive Blow,
    Combined Effort or Crushing Blow.
Then when the Frostbite is consumed use Frozen Wrath,
Jolt (but only after a critical hit) or Icy Blow.

Keep Rage of the North on cooldown.
You will want to time your Deep Freeze with raid cooldowns so you can do...

Deep Freeze > Massive Blow > Jolt > Rush of Strength > Massive Blow

...which will deal the most amount of damage within Deep Freeze's time frame.

Massive Blow does apply a damage over time ability called Brutalize which you don't normally want to clip, however as Deep Freeze only lasts 3s you have to clip Brutalize to get your second Massive Blow in before Deep Freeze exipres.

When you don't have access to Deep Freeze and Rush of Strength comes off cooldown you want to leave enough time for Brutalize to expire, so instead you do...

    Massive Blow > Non-Phys > Phys > Rush of Strength > Non-Phys > Massive Blow

    ...so you don't clip Brutalize.

    For dealing damage to mobs/adds:
When engaging two enemies spread Frozen Wrath with Strike of the Maelstrom to both enemies, keeping it active on both. Continue with your single target rotation on one of them, then once one dead switch to the other.

For three or more enemies spread Frozen Wrath to all enemies with Strike of the Maelstrom.

You still want to do your Frostbite rotation so for aoe damage use Avalanche Strike to proc Frostbite and Strike of the Maelstrom to consume it.

    Abilities:
    Spoiler!

    Macros:
    #show Icy Blow
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Frozen Wrath
    cast Jolt
    cast Icy Blow
    cast Ekkehard's Grasp
    cast Lightning Hammer

    Level 65
    Best Spec:
    61 Shaman, 8 Inquisitor, 7 Druid

    Alternative Spec:
    61 Shaman, 11 Inquisitor, 4 Druid

    Masteries:
    Level 61 - Soul Collector
Level 62 - Blessing of Penitence
    Level 63 - Faith's Freedom
    Level 64 - Diversify
    Level 65 - Punishing Strike

    Buffs:
    Furious Assault
    Armor of Devotion
    Glory of the Chosen
    Heart of the Frozen Sea

As there are two different Weapon buffs and only one can be active at a time you will need to swap when the situation changes.
Vengeance of the Winter Storm is to be used when engaging one enemy or up to three enemies.
Vengeance of the Primal North is to be used when engaging four or more enemies.

    Starting Rotation:
Frozen Wrath > Rage of the North > Punishing Strike
    Sanction Heretic > Lightning Hammer

Deep Freeze > Massive Blow > Jolt > Rush of Strength > Massive Blow

    Rotation:
Keep Frozen Wrath, Sanction Heretic and Lightning Hammer active on the target.
Punishing Strike will automatically refresh Frozen Wrath when cast, so you only need to cast Sanction Heretic and Lightning Hammer when they expire.

You want to proc Frostbite before using any Physical damaging ability, which only comes from using a Non-Physical melee damaging ability, as Frostbite increases it's damage by 30%.

So when Frostbite is active use Massive Blow, Punishing Strike, Combined Effort or Crushing Blow.
Then when the Frostbite is consumed use Frozen Wrath, Glacial Strike, Jolt (but only after a critical hit) or Icy Blow.

For three or more enemies spread Frozen Wrath to all enemies with Strike of the Maelstrom.

From my parses it seems like it is. The real question is any Shaman spec better than inquisitor?

Shaman is very dependent on crit chance and cp. It is still parsing higher than inquisitor at higher gear levels on dummies. Problem is most boss fights at the moment are not very melee friendly and inquisitor is just so much more reliable.

ive just got 2 Quick Questions.

    1st : Did you parse on a below 30% Dummy and did you compare 10Druid 5Inq to 8Inq 7Druid?

    2nd : Show a screenshot of your Breakdown from atleast 3 parses^^

if you dont want to make it public, you can send me a private message ofcourse

Just to comment on today's changes the DPS has been increased by about 3% still putting it behind Inquisitor.

However the major change was to Deep Freeze.
It may require a target but it now works on bosses that have big hit boxes, such as Aky, Reguos and Abom.

anyway to create macro that will change targets to help apply FW when AOEing.

You could use a mouseover macro.

Sanction Heretic Spec is not a real DMG Gain because

1.you loose Massive Blows because SH does not reset the cooldown of MB
2.The Base DMg of MB is lower about 1%
    here

    and here

    my stats
    wis 9004
    sp 17181
    sc 7305
    cp 3037

so the 61shaman/10druid/5inqui spec is on paper still better
here i have made a theoretical ability breakdown https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1954215749

Uhhhh.... you realize that Strike of the Maelstrom spreads Frozen Wrath to adjacent targets right?

All you need is to have Frozen Wrath applied to one target and use Strike of the Maelstrom to spread... no macros or mouseovers required.

I did know, but I lost my train of thought here.
