Default [2.7] Hammer of Life - Druid/Justicar Support Alternate

    Primary: Soul Tree

    Overview:
This build has been mentioned a few times deep in some threads and I thought I would post a guide for it. After playing around with this build for a while, it seems that there is a place for this build as a support healer/dps, especially in small groups, or in larger raids it works filling raid functions like multiple interrupts and an extra battlerez. In more coherent raids it lacks in dps and directed healing and shouldn't take the place of a more dedicated role. It also works fairly well as a solo/duo build due to its decent damage, healing and toughness.

    Build Discussion
The primary damage rotation of this build are using Resounding Blow, Combined Effort, Mein of Honor, and Light Makes Right to buff an extremely powerful Hammer of Duty into one of the largest hits available in the game. Everything else in the damage portion of the build works around that. In sustained damage this doesn't work so well due to the low crit rate in this build, as damage will vary massively depending on whether Hammer of Duty actually crits. I haven't tested using spellcrit potions during Orchestra, but otherwise sustained damage can be expected to be around Cabalist and other support single target DPS. I keep seeing single button shaman macros come up and this will be superior to that.

Support wise, the build uses Salvation to passively heal its party, and takes advantage of the 3 separate OGCD interrupts available on both trees to shut down most casting mechanics. Additionally this build has a backup battlerez which is one of the most unique features in a class not dedicated to healing. Additionally it has a taunt and can be fairly fast, allowing it to handle an occasional kite mechanic.

The main comparison for this build is going to be the Holy Fire Shaman, which has significant damage shields, slightly more damage with the Shaman burst rotation, a 1s GCD, less health, and directed healing. If you can't handle the simplified Shaman rotation this will be better.

    Build Pros:
    Decent but not excellent damage
Able to put up massive damage numbers
    Extremely simple damage rotation
~40-45% more health over other builds doing damage
    Significant amounts of self healing
Decent amounts of group healing, up to extremely high numbers in aoe situations.
    2 ranged interrupts and a interrupt/debilitate
Self full clense and 2x tank cooldowns
Thorns of Ire group damage buff (This is kindof a pro)
    Battlerez
Pet for holding mobs while farming

    Build Cons:
Significant loss in DPS vs a true melee DPS build, can be as much as 20% loss vs Shaman
Melee locked - build loses most of its damage and healing while disconnected for more than a few seconds, as the excellent trickster's bolt will take over the majority of your GCD.
No true burst capability, as burst is entirely random
    Lacks significant AoE damage

    Variations:
In the listed build the Fairy Seer is selected. The Satyr Destroyer will do significantly more single target DPS, especially without Spirit of Upheaval/Asphodel to make up the difference, but will do significantly less healing and little aoe damage. The Greater Satyr Protector can be picked up with a point from Guiding Hand but eventually you become tougher than the Protector in most situations due to the Justicar points.

Points in Stronghold can be placed anywhere.

Taking points from the top of Justicar tree for Spirit of Upheaval will significantly reduce your single target DPS and/or remove a primary feature of the build and you may want to look at a more druid heavy build. Taking points from druid for Justicar will also eliminate your single target DPS and you should probably look for a different build. Taking the defensive points in Justicar, primarily Mein of Leadership, is pointless due to the 40% reduction in that ability eliminating tank hybrids.

    Abilities

    Buffs:
These buffs will be up at all times and you should have no reason to remove them:
    Mein of Honor
    Vengeance of the Winter Storm
    Fury of the Fae
    Strength of the Forest
    Shield of Oak
    Pets:
The damage pet you have selected should be used nearly always. The healer does relatively little healing.
    Greater Fairy Seer/Greater Fairy Protector
    Greater Fairy Healer

    Macros:

    Primary damage:
    Code:
    #show Combined Effort
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Essence Strike
    cast Combined Effort
    cast Bolt of Radiance
    cast Strike of Judgment
    cast Trickster's Bolt
    cast Shield of Oak
    Hammer of Duty:
    Code:
    #show Resounding Blow
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Resounding Blow
    cast Hammer of Duty
    Closer:
    Code:
    #show Fae Step
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Combined Effort
    cast Fae Step
    Primary Interrupts:
    Code:
    #show Notion Theft
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Interdict
    cast Notion Theft
    cast Grim Silence
    Alternate Interrupts:
    Code:
    #show Interdict
    suppressmacrofailures
    targetmark 1
    cast Interdict
    Code:
    #show Notion Theft
    suppressmacrofailures
    targetmark 2
    cast Notion Theft
    Code:
    #show Interdict
    suppressmacrofailures
    shout Interrupting %t
    cast @focus Interdict
    Other Skills on bar:
    Eruption of Life
    Even Justice
    Fae Dispersion
    Righteous Mandate
    Doctrine of Bliss
    Absolution
    Thorns of Ire
    Resplendent Embrace
    Strength of the Fae
    Hidden Path
    Sovereignty
    Purpose
    Peace of the Forest

    Occasionally useful skills:
    Doctrine of Bliss
    Provoke
    Through Step

    Rotation:
    Keep Eruption of Life up
    Keep Thorns of Ire up
Combined Effort > Hammer of Duty macrox2 > Thorns of Ire > Eruption of Life > Macro till 6 stacks of conviction after last hit > Resounding Blow > Hammer of Duty

    Notes:
Use the closer macro to activate Combined Effort if you are just starting the fight, the spam macro will show you when its up.

Essence Strike will give 2 Convictions due to refreshing Eruption of Life counting as an attack. This will also heal twice under salvation, healing for the same amount as a Justicar attack.

Massive Blow will not give a conviction on its own, but if there are 6 stacks of Conviction after the last attack that gives a 1.5s GCD on that attack plus the 1.5s GCD on Massive Blow for Confidence to give you the 7th Conviction. Depending on how well you manage it you will have to wait at most half a second for Hammer of Duty, and usually no time at all.

    Gear:
This build is heavily dependent on random crits without any way inherent to the build in increasing its critrate. Otherwise the usual CP/SP dps setup will work. The Justicar Crystal will see the best use as the others offer only 70 spellpower

I think its an oversight to skip a point in curious precision and to not put 2 pts in Inq, those are worth another 8% crit chance which helps a fair bit with this build since you really want to get the best out of the hammers.

The problem with putting points in Inquisitor is that there isn't really 2 points available unless you do this, taking the point out of Absolution and removing the dps pet for the Greater Protector. I think moving the point from Intensity of Purpose to Curious precision might be worth it though.

it looks interesting but i feel the loss of the four points in justicar to get the 4 stack DoL heal really limits your ability to support significantly. having given up so much by going 34 points deep, it seems odd not to go for the aoe heals.
